I just found them a few days ago. he's an amazing song writer. every time I listen to another song I think it can't be as good as the last... it always is. this song is amazing but not even close to one of their best imo
+James Fleming so crazy that you came across them so recent, self conclusion is incredible. Black dresses also amazing. This is for keeps. Sunsets and car crashes. Your evil soul. Still walking after you. So much. Under the cover. Polygraph right now! So many songs that are going to blow your socks off if you haven't already heard these please listen to them!!
+Cj Vergara self conclusion is the exact sing I had in mind when I said this isn't even close to their best song. that song came on for the first time in my car. I literally pulled over to listen. I texted my friend and said that a song hasn't moved me like that in a long long time. I've heard all your suggestions. thanks so much for taking the time to list some of your favorites man!
I heard this song for the first time when I was fifteen. I am twenty two now and it has stayed with me all these years. Beautifully written and composed!
My older brother showed me this song. He must’ve been 15 and I probably was 10. He passed away at 17 and whenever I hear this song , it never fails to make me think of him , and or cry. I miss him so much. I miss when things were simpler.
Sonder Haze I unfortunately lost my brother when I was 18 and now I’m 20 years old and while this song doesn’t make me remember him, there are a bunch of songs that do. And if it helps, you’re not alone.
+fuckyourprettyface me too! Someone asked me to think of the saddest song that makes you feel something. I hadn't heard it in years but it was the first song that popped into my mind.
Jason Steppe I got the chorus. "Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive." & then added on shortly after on the other side of my arm and hourglass with a banner with "Live for the moment."
Thanks man. They'll always be in my top 3, I used to do a lot of street teaming for them back in the teenage days. They were always so awesome to hang out with. Can't wait for Nick's solo album this month.
been almost 2 decades, still this song slaps hard in 2024. To all my brothers and sisters who've come across this magnum opus, hope you'll keep revisiting and keep this alive through eons....
A good friend sent me a link to this song years ago. I barely listened to it. But from what I heard it was definitely something to come back to. So I went home and listened to it while my roommate was cleaning. This song was so powerful he stopped and had me restart it from the beginning. We then spent the next hour analyzing it and how it worked into our lives as homeless adults living in a transitional living program.
+aurasofblu Dude that is deep. I feel you too. I grew up in foster care. I came across this band while at school on iTunes online radio and then literally became hooked. Later I found this song and literally cried for hours. It reminds me that we have a short period of time to expand who we are and the relationships we have no matter how many. I feel like people take for granted what it means to be alive and the opportunities they have at hand.
this song is so beautiful I love when it says "heaven's not a place you go when you die it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive" it's the best line I've heard in awhile
Every single time I hear the last verse, I get goosebumps and chills. I saw them live in May and they performed this song and I had tears in my eyes the whole time. It's such an amazing song.
I loved this song since I was 15, I fell in love with the name Vada. And when I found out I was pregnant with a little girl I decided to name her Vada! Haha
in the past i would question God all the time, but i finally decided to truly trust him and i can honestly feel him. it happens for people in different ways, and like i said before this is just my personal belief.
This was quite possibly the most influential song from when I was younger, and still remains today. I like how there are so many people in the comments complaining that he has 1 line that was the same line from a terrible rap song.
"Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive." I forgot the other song, but I remember it not being hard to Google.
***** "infrared roses eyedea" I found it now lol thanks, and it appears the lyrics are different but obviously the same concept. Eyedea's song came out first in 2002 but yeah, interesting
I've been searching new music the past hour for a new artist to give me goosebumps. Thank you bluejuicefilms, thank you some guy on yahoo answers, and thank the spill canvas. I'm gonna listen again now.
i seriously just feel in love with thi song. i cant stop listening to it. and i agree with the comment below that says " "the tide", that sweeps them away, is life. And the mother missed out on her children growing up due to her own failures in love." youre completely right
This song is so amazing... i will be getting a tattoo that says "Heaven is not a place you go when you die, its that moment in life when you actually feel alive". LOVE that quote.
I start crying after I hear this song. 'Heaven isn't a place where you go when you die, it's that moment in life where you actually feel alive.' I love that quote. :)
Its possible that two different song writers can come up with the same lyrics without copying each other, just sayin' shit like that could actually happen
So absolutely beautiful song♥ "Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, It's that moment in your life when you actually feel alive", my favorite line c:
This was my teen years. Haven't heard this in so long, but this band, among bayside and brand new and other bands that actually shined in whatever you wanna call this genre, and the melancholy sheen that they gave my life. I miss it so much.
When was that even published, how can you be so sure its stolen? Have you examined both pieces and found amy evidence or did you just jump to a conclusion?
so i heard this song in my sister's car like three years ago, i looked it up, learned it and, sadly, forgot about it. two days ago i heard it in her car again and i remembered (and lived by) every word!!!!! this is the kind of song that touches your heart
omg. this is my new fav song by them. i love how he says "Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, It's that moment in life when you actually feel alive, So live for the moment." It's like something to live by...
this is a really powerful song; It blows me away. this is such a common tragedy in lives today. it really opened my eyes to how deeply the kids are affected. It takes losing her children to realize that love has been there all along; that the love was in her children. personally i believe that God always loves you and his love alone will matter. it's so heart breaking to see how people live day to day without Jesus. I couldn't do that.
I love the emotion in his voice...the sincerity. I am in love with his voice. I wish these guys were more famous than they are. They deserve more credit than they get. Love em!!!
This is one of my favorite songs, ever. My niece is named after Veda, and this song has such great meaning. I listen to it constantly and it will never get old.
This is the song that started it all for me. I first heard this song almost 5 years ago & they've been my favorite band ever since, Nick puts so much emotion into his music, it's beautiful.
no matter what any1 says... its music like this, the rest of the spill canvas' work, and secondhand serenade that has the deepest emotion today... more moving, more meaning, than the shallow puddles in most the music industry.
Every time I watch this video, I find myself crying over it. It has this horrible feelings of loss and hopelessness and it just fills me with this desire to try and make the world better so that nothing like this ever happens.
10 years later and I still believe nobody can capture the soul and presence of love and heart ache and well as the spill canvas did.
I just found them a few days ago. he's an amazing song writer. every time I listen to another song I think it can't be as good as the last... it always is. this song is amazing but not even close to one of their best imo

+James Fleming we share love for the same music brother, so wherever you're at, I got mad love for you.
Same to you
I heard this song for the first time when I was fifteen. I am twenty two now and it has stayed with me all these years. Beautifully written and composed!
Same
ZeeBakerDee Similar story here. I don't listen to it regularly, but I would have listened to it at least once a year for the past six years.
ZeeBakerDee same here.
+ZeeBakerDee except there is stolen lyrics in this song haha
+ZeeBakerDee snap :P
cheers boys. takes me back to 10th grade. 2005. what a weird time
Gilbert Perez me to
I wonder how many times I’ve listened to this very song as a 27 year old man in 2019.
"Heavens not a place you go when you die, It's that moment in life when you actually feel alive" - Great lyrics I must say.
My older brother showed me this song. He must’ve been 15 and I probably was 10. He passed away at 17 and whenever I hear this song , it never fails to make me think of him , and or cry. I miss him so much. I miss when things were simpler.

I’m sorry for both of your losses.
I lost both my brothers, he isnt lying, that moment in life i had with them did feel like heaven...cant get that back.
I haven't heard this song in so long but I knew all the lyrics once the song started playing. Classic
I am only 9 and my mom got me into this band. But I know this song by heart
8 years later and this song's still as perfect as the first time I listened to it.
I randomly remembered this song today. So many memories
So did I.
+Alexia Bazan so did I. But my today is not the same as either of your todays.
+fuckyourprettyface me too! Someone asked me to think of the saddest song that makes you feel something. I hadn't heard it in years but it was the first song that popped into my mind.
One of the few songs that makes me cry.
Not only the lyrics, but the passion in the singing. His voice is just so heartbreaking.
I got the lyrics of this tattooed in my arm when I was 18... now 26 and still living by them.
what part of the lyrics?
I'm curious as well which lyrics you got.
Jason Steppe I got the chorus. "Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive." & then added on shortly after on the other side of my arm and hourglass with a banner with "Live for the moment."

Dude that is sweet. I'm glad I'm not the only guy super into TSC! lol
Thanks man. They'll always be in my top 3, I used to do a lot of street teaming for them back in the teenage days. They were always so awesome to hang out with. Can't wait for Nick's solo album this month.

After hearing this song in highschool my son's middle name is Dade. 10 years later I still adore this song. :)

Songs like these are the ones that send shivers down my spine, through the back of my legs, and make my feet tingle.

Explain??

I think it's funny they stole lyrics from a true lyrical genius. Rhyme In Peace, Micheal 'Eyedea' Larsen.
genius.com/Eyedea-infrared-roses-lyrics
This actually pisses me off so much.
Duntee why? sure he stole a lyric but that shouldn't discredit the entire song. all that really matters is if you were able to understand the song.
When was that even published, how can you be so sure its stolen? Have you examined both pieces and found amy evidence or did you just jump to a conclusion?
evananonymous
Eyedea's song was from 2001. This is from like 2004. The lines are exactly word for word. lol.
.
so i heard this song in my sister's car like three years ago, i looked it up, learned it and, sadly, forgot about it. two days ago i heard it in her car again and i remembered (and lived by) every word!!!!! this is the kind of song that touches your heart
