I'm a professional realtime captioner (constantly being told that computers are on the verge of replacing me) who's been a massive sea shanty fan for like 30 years and this video is basically the best thing I've ever seen. So impossibly satisfying and vindicating. THANK YOU!!!!

Not sure what to find more impressive: the harmonies (which, as a musical moron, appear to me as some kind of sorcery) or your managing to get through this without collapsing into fits of giggles. Those are some serious skills.

Funnily enough, those are two of the four Norse Gods mentioned pretty much on a daily basis.
Saturday is for Saturn.
Sunday is, what else, for the sun.
Monday is for the moon.
Tuesday is the day of Tyr.
Wednesday means Wodans day, another name of Odin.
Thursday is the day of Thor.
Friday is the day of Frigg, Odins wife.
The Longest Johns should sing a famous shanty on April fools day but instead of posting the real song they should only post the UA-cam captions version being sung
Even better: drop an original song but only the misheard lyrics, and when the comments have successfully deduced what the actual lyrics must be, drop the actual song.

As an additional note, in "Liza Lee" in this video, when they sing "whole way, how are you most um" UA-cam has now changed it to "oh way how are you most DUMB"! LMAO!! Oak & Ash & Thorn was great too!

As weird as UA-cam's subtitles are, I would say, how The Longest Johns sing these April Fool versions of their songs, these subtitles could actually be made into shanties of their own, they defiantly sound like real silly sea shanties that someone has made to be honest lol.
