The part where the octave goes from -1 to -2 was NOT his mistake. This is a serious bug the AX Edge app has. When you adjust parameters and switch pages, the parameters often change to a nearby value. Roland PLEASE fix this in the new update, it’s driving me insane with frustration!
Hi, thanks for the explanation. But I see that the new sound is registered instead of another single sound in te Ax-edge. Is it possible to register the split sound as an extra sound instead of a replacement?
Shame you couldn't just choose hit the keyboard and set the limit points of the range after selection on the app. Or is it possible? Good job though. Very concise and easy to follow!
So he just overwrote one of the voices with a layer/program? What if you just want that 001 voice? You press the button or cycle there and you get this layer?
Jesus frigging christ, why did they make it only possible in the app? Imagine being on stage and wanting to add-lib parts live. Makes me regret buying this when my Nord does everything and more so easily.
It's a keytar, it's hanging from you by a strap. You don't have access to the front buttons or screen, so the smartphone app makes a lot of sense. A Nord is not a keytar, apples to oranges
@@lumer2b Don't have access to front buttons? Do you have short arms or something? Modding sounds on the fly never an issue on older Keytars. Android app - doesn't work. IOS app - at the mercy of Apple not rendering it obselete in next update, as no obvious sign of active support from Roland. If you think smartphone apps are the way to go, you've not been in the game very long, or else a Roland employee.
@@adrianaugustus2815 No, I don't have short arms, but I don't have a dinosaur neck. Do you own an Ax-edge? You cannot really look at the tiny screen at the front and use the buttons to edit while standing with it, I'd much rather bring my own screen. It works fine in Android (I used with Moto X and Xiaomi Redmi). It's still a piece of shit app because the interface is just a parameter dump, but your proposal is not an option for the Edge, and if you replaced this with a Nord clearly you're not using it as a keytar, so why are you complaining about stuff you don't know?
@@lumer2b Yawn... so you have a working android version when nobody else does? (just look at reviews on play store)? You play a whole set supporting a band, on the keytar non-stop, no break? You don't think it's a simple matter to tilt unit up with left hand while tweaking with right - yes argument by many is for larger screen (like why the seperate patch number in the corner - whats the point? make one large touch screen over whole area, add some more knobs like previous AX) AND PC/Mac software, not a stupid App that you seem fixated on and refuse to accept will be obsolete on your spyphone too should you upgrade OS. Jeez. You have to be the dumbest cnut around.
The fact that this video isn't 30 seconds long is a HUGE problem for this thing. Does Roland not hire product managers? Did some bozo not think about SPLITS?
I'm really annoyed that I can't just hold a button and tap on the selector to say 1/8 or 1/4, then play a few notes, and then hold a button and tap a key to play back those notes while I play. From zero, you should be able to press a few buttons and create a loop, just like a guitarist with a loop pedal, but slightly more advanced.

did they fix it yet?
Hi Roland! Is there a way to arpeggiate the bottom split i.e. but not the top part?

Can you make splits in the AX-Synth too? Or is it a new feature of the Edge?
Can these splits be saved as a Favourite sound?

Hello
when i split the keyboard, and i allocate a part on vocoder, it doesn't work, do you have a solution?
thank you
how do you do this without the app?
Hey @roland can you answer these people's questions?
Is there not an easier way to split patches from the keyboard? Using an app like that seems cumbersome.
Do the program names need t have the AX before the actual name?
Nope you can make them whatever you like
Au5 awesome! Thanks for your answer.
How much are the extra blades?
Saw some on Ebay, from Japan - $95 + $45 shipping. Don't break your spare!

This future garbage can filler and most embarrassing musical product I've ever purchased has nice sounds that I'll never play
