I have a lot of musical instruments, but this one is by far the most fun! It never fails to get attention at gigs, not just ‘cause it looks so cool, but the seemingly infinite number of things you can do with it. If you play keys, you gotta have one of these!
I just took up the keyboard this year, and bit the bullet on a red Ax-Edge. I'm BEYOND thrilled. I can't wait to practice every damned day on this thing. It sounds amazing just with its built-in patches, and the customization ability is killer. Roland knocked it out of the park with this puppy.
Honestly this is one of the coolest thing's I've seen released this year. If I had the money Id totally buy one, it'd be great for overall composition also in the studio. Change the way you write a little bit
Andrew Albertson yep winter is my synth time too. to dam cold to do anything out side I doint care about winter hobbys like snowmobiling sking I used to snow board back in the day but I have bad knees so I abandoned that but now my hobby is synths nice and warm(:
RICARDO GARCIA same! I used to snowboard and all that. But now I'm Content just playing music, drinking tea and hanging at home with my animals lol. I've grown to enjoy my time alone better and this all helps
Sounds like a whole orchestra on stage can create deep moods. I play ancient devotional Bajans and mantra usually played on ancient stringed instruments but would be great. You are great at this ax edge
Finally someone that’s not just trying to ripoff the 80’s with one of these!! Thank you. Sry just found the channel and subbed, so you have any projects where you’ve used this?
hi, I own the Ax Synth, and I am still waiting for a keytar that would give us options like Korg PS60. The tones will be the guitars, strings, piano, organ, sax and other tones- that you can play simultaneouly and layer and adjust the volume of the sounds. Shape it like a guitar 34 inches lenght and with a separate 1 octave left hand bass notes and modulation bars.
Do the all black keys throw you off? I wish I could try it out before ordering one because the all black keys look dope but I'm worried I will struggle without the visual aid of white/black keys.
Thelonia No. Itakes practice but that’s like anything. It’s fun! and you always get noticed. Maybe try the Alesis Vortex 2 also. It’s smaller and therefore a little easier to use although it is only a controller so doesn’t have its own built in sounds. This does :) either way....Keytars are awesome
I like this thing! In your Hand if looks so easy to play it. The question is what do you use as other equipment for the rythm and so when you play in this video? I think if you want to use the Keytar like you in your Video you have not only to buy the Keytar. In the most Videos on Tube the Poeple play with rythm and sound and no one writes something about the other equipment they have to buy to play like shown in the videos.
You can import or create drums using the Roland Librarian app, but it's cumbersome. It's easier to a drum machine or another keyboard that has drums. Also, you will need an Amp, just as you would for any professional level keyboard.
great video but just one doubt ..do I need passive speakers or active speakers to conect and play my Roland?? I'll appreciate someone reply me .. t-you =)
Excellent demo, excellent product. However, took one of my keyboards, attacked a guitar strap to it, and made my low budget keytar. Or, place it vertically upon low rise stool, sit down, and play it like and oversized harmonium......without blowing of course. Easy to access the pit h bend wheel too.
Like it very much - the keytar and also your video! Thanks for one of the best AX-Edge-videos so far! I think, the AX-Edge would be a great christmas-gift for myself... You told about the "assignable knobs", and i have a question depending on the assignability of the ribbon controller: When playin' guitar-sounds it is helpful, if you can bend the tones only two halfsteps up, but twelve halfsteps down. (And this behaviour would be nearly like what the tremolo-arm at a real guitar does...) - So, please, can you tell me if it's possible to assign different intervals for "moving up" an "moving down"? Thanx a lot!
I think I will get one. Never played standing up before. Sounds are great but. could you do a demo with blues, classic and electric guitar. I play piano but I want to also play guitar with my buddies blues band.
Im planning on buying one thing only does it have orchestra/string sound or can you add sounds... I have the roland fa it has a orchestra button and on roland site you can download sound packs..just wondering if this keytar does the same
Why do all the demos of this instrument go straight to 80's style of synth music? Im sure it could do more modern styles or even be used for progressive music.
Some of the voices are polyphonic and others are monophonic. And they're actually configurable as well so if you use the editor and go into the settings you should be able to switch between the two. You want to set it to polyphonic to be able to hit more than one key at a time.
going to ask my jazz band director tonight if "hypothetically" speaking i get a keytar if i could play it instead of the keyboard. the keytar looks so sick. what brand would you recommend is the best for a beginner? I play a bit of guitar and I've played piano for 9 years.
So do you need a speaker for it or does it have one built in? And you also mentioned Bluetooth so if it doesn't have a natural speaker built in can you set it up to a Bluetooth speaker?
Ghost Destroyer you need a amp pa ec. Most of your pro synths doint have built in speakers like those cheap casio yamaha arrangers keyboards that you get at kmart(:
Loosen that strap man! Looks so uncomfortable playing all crushed up like that. also for playing with two hands move the strap down from the neck one peg. Trust me. much more comfortable way of playing.
@Jack you'll have better range of motion is all I am saying, relax my guy. If he losens it up he will be able to hit the lower keys with his right hand.
Yes..it has built in sounds..... and they are epic!! Seriously good man. The sounds on this thing can be edited anyway you wish meaning you can have pretty much any sound you want.
@@thephoenixchant as far as I know, it’s only to connect with phones, iPads…..not with Bluetooth speakers. I didn’t see anything in the manual that would indicate that capability.
