Taking a mini cruise to Oslo from Copenhagen giving 5 hours there.Thought i had a plan with it bein a compact city but your very informative videos are throwin up allsorts of new stuff. Should have stayed one night at least.Damn.
You can walk through Karl Johan street from west to east, see the Opera building, and then walk from the Opera up along Akerselva river to see Grünerløkka. It should be doable in 4 or 5 hours, depending on how long time you spend on each spot.
Brings back memories from when I grew up in Oslo. Back in the 60ties, Akerselva wasn't very clean, but now it looks beautiful. It's been 40 years since I lived in Norway. Takk for den fine videoen 😃
My man! Thank you for this awesome video, I will be visiting in a little over two months so this has been very helpful! If I run into you at an Oslo bar your beers are on me. Limit 2. Your beers are not cheap.😆
The river runs in the east part of Oslo, but it's not the devider of east/west. The devider is the ridge that runs from Kontraskjæret by Akershus Festning, through the city to Sagene.
Hey OsloPro, me and my wife are moving soon to Oslo and we watched all your videos at least twice each:) Thanks for the great info and nice humor! Maybe we can have a coffee at the barista place sometime, our place will be exactly in this neighbourhood! Recommending your channel to everyone who wants to see our future home:) Cheers
Hey there, love your videos! I’m planning a trip to Oslo in the future (after the pandemic). I was wondering if path you take from the Vaterland bridge in this video is heading in the right direction to take you to the Vigelandsparken sculpture park?
Nice to hear from you! No, Akerselva is heading North, while Vigelandsparken is to the West. You can walk up by the river to the Sagene area, and take bus 20 from there to Vigelandsparken. It leaves frequently from Arendalsgata bus stop: goo.gl/maps/3BNowmGmWnTGntia7 That should be past 8:25 in the video.
i really like your videos, everyones. me and my girlfriend gonna to travel to oslo very soon. we have many questions about your beautiful city. i think the most important its; it is really safe? i mean especially the aker zone , the one you are walking in this video here up. our trip will be in august, exactly in a friday in the morning, so, there somethink that i must concern? thankyou for your excellent youtube chanel
It's pretty safe, but like every city, there are bad areas. The path along the lowest part of Akerselva has been used by drug dealers for decades. During daytime it's OK because there will be lots of normal people, but at night there can be some shady types there. Most of the violence in Oslo happens at very specific times in certain areas. Friday and Saturday night Jernbanetorget and Brugata bus stops can be a bit dangerous because there are lots of drunk/drugged people there. Watch out for Romanian pick pocket gangs. One of them stopped me in the street and stole my phone! But I immediately noticed it and got it back. Apart from petty theft Oslo is pretty safe. After all, there are only about 30 murders in the whole of Norway every year.
Hey! I’m moving to Oslo soon with my Australian Shepherd and I was wondering why one literally never sees people walking their dogs in ur videos? I mean there’s not a single one walking through town or along all those footpaths. 🤔
Must be just coincidence, lots of people have dogs in Oslo. I used to see them from my apartment walking their dogs in all kinds of weather. Maybe that's why, because they walk them closer to where they live, and my videos are mostly from high street and downtown areas. Not sure about this though :)
yup, lots of dogs in NOrway and Oslo, they walk them morning and afternoon, evening, most people are working dayshift, and its mor convenient to take them to parks than busy streets... usually.. From the other Norwegian,-)
Thank you for copying that information from Wikipedia and posting it here no.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%98stkant_og_vestkant_i_Oslo I'm sure that's technically and historically correct, but in many people's minds the river, which is close to Uelands gate, divides the city into East and West.

hei! Fant ikke ut hvordan jeg sendte deg privat melding. Her lærer jeg jo masse om Oslo! Bra for en relativ nykommer som meg :)
hehe, det er fordi jeg bare tar imot tips fra de beste ;)
There is even Salmon in this river !
Cool! I didn't know that.

No, sorry. Not for this channel.
Do you have an email?
+Ahmad Thariq I would prefer not posting it here. If anything, you could send me a private message on UA-cam. Cheers.
