Hey Doc! Great footage of the plugs under water. I like to remove the metal "guts" and then run the mono leader straight through the hole in the lip of the plug. I put a bead and then tie the swivel and siwash hook right to the mono - plug, bead, swivel, hook. I believe it gives the plug a different action and if you snag bottom and break off you might get the plug back because it will float to the surface freely. Hello.. I found almost 50 feet back from the downrigger release clip to the plug. Then increase the boat speed to 3.5 knots and make lots of circles and turns. Keep watch over the depth finder marking fish. Dr. THOKE Fishing Enterprises.
Canuck here still use a bunch of granddads lucky Louie plugs theyre all at least 45 yrs old usually if nothing is working ill throw on the greenie
