  • Today on Captain's Round Table we discuss our goto plugs and how we run them. As a bonus we talk about our best bait to run in the lakes leading to river mouths for staging salmon.
Captain's Round Table is a series of videos that helps to explain the many questions about salmon and trout fishing. It proves that there are many different methods and ways to be successful on the water. These are all well respected Captains on the Great Lakes.

Wire diver back 45' on 3.5 setting works in the p.m. lake when salmon are agressive. Buddy J. Decker showed me this one.

In Milwaukee all the charters troll by the shore and snap all the shore fishermen's lines. Bloody war

Maybe I missed it but is there a certain time of year to choose plugs?
    Thank you for the video

Generally it’s in late summer as water temps start getting warm. Mid to Late August

@@Reel2ReelOutdoors I fish Lake Ontario. The depth you have mentioned is pretty shallow. Would you fish deeper according to preferred temperatures or fish shallow like the discussion? If so at what temperature range would you get them in? Would you use them as a go to lure during staging? Thank you for the round tables. Do you ever go live?
