The collection must be in progress for the item to appear in the vendors' lists. The Thruster Control Unit is required to unlock the siege turtle mount and previously could only be acquired by completing the Kaineng Overlook Strike Mission.
Just a little detail not directly related to the turtle: Because the last mastery shares the 50% health boost to your other mounts, somebody at anet decided to nerf the health of all mounts. So if you are a returning player from PoF and you feel like your old mounts are more frail, it's not your imagination they have less health even with the health boost mastery than they did back in PoF. Also Noxxi's art is *chef's kiss*.
it's actually i think only after you do that mastery you get the nerf funny enough, so if you never do it you don't get the hp nerf on the other mounts.
one thing to add to the leviathan. u need at least 8 people to use the skiff depth charge skill to remove its hardened scales buff which reduces damage taken by 10% each stack they go back up to 8 stacks every few secs so ya need to make sure that u have enough people to remove its buff :)
I decided to get the Turtle today and was shocked to see that it barely took a fraction of the time I spent compared to getting the Skyscale. I expected another part of the collection after the last one and was pleasantly surprised and was like "oh. oh ok that was it? like legit? THANK FUCKING GOD!".
Came here to check how awful this grind would be after working on getting skyscale, this looks crazy easy by comparison. Griffon & roller beetle were harder than this looks.
I heard the sky scale is stupid long. I just got the gryphon mount and that took me a few days, they said it could be done in three hours! So, if they said it can be done I. Three hours but it takes days even weeks to get sky scale, I decided I’m going to try to get either the turtle or beetle first. The beetle looks way more useful but the bonuses from the turtle for other mounts is really enticing. 50% respectively is a huge bonus to health.
@@rhino9221get the beetle first than the turtle. Gryphon will do a great job while you get the skyscale but the rest of terrestrial mounts are pretty slow in comparison to the beetle
@@rhino9221if you use the secrets of the obscure method it actually isn't that bad at all. You can get the skyscale in a 2 or 3 days easily. It took me less than a week and i was a completely new player with zero game knowledge and almost none of the map unlocked yet

No egg at the merchant.... UPDATE: If you do not see the Egg at the Merchant it means you already have it. IT WILL NOT SHOW in your inventory, you just have to look in your mail and you will have a letter from Rota. You need to go to her and there she will take your egg. For those who have done the Meta event over and over and won and you don't see the egg... this is why, it does not show in your inventory you get a letter instead.
If others have the mount but no one firing the guns, are they usually wanting people to hop on and fire or is that annoying if you don't know the other person?
for anyone having a hard time with leviathan ... you can stand on its back and go to town with a ranged weapon of type, way faster than to go underwater and fighting on its own turf, also to start the event you must wait for the finishing of the fishing tournament and speak to the bubble that appears after
and please.. dont buy a run for the 3rd strike, this sellers are bad people. i and other players run this for free and can explain to you the mechanics and yeah.. mukluk "get to the point" guides are amazing, check that out ^_^
You forgot the most important part! Your turtle has learned that fidget is the one who chops food, so in the final achievement when you bring it dyes, your turtle will eat the dyes after giving them to Fidget.
I finally decided to play Dragon's End meta to get the egg, won it first try with a trusted commander (open tag pug tho), got the egg, then I realized all the veggies needed to feed the turtle are worth a fortune currently :'( I'm gonna give it a few months until the prices are reasonable :p
There's a way to shortcut it a bit. If you progress a bit through the Chef 500 stuff you can get a free garden plot in your home instance and you can unlock the seeds to grow kale, carrots, strawberries and a bunch of other stuff in there. It's only a few a day but combines with gathering you can do around the world it'll cut down on how long you need to wait and spend.
Except can't you only grow kale and some of the others if you bought a garden plot from the gem store? Because you can only buy those specific seeds from the merchant that shows up if you buy the black lion one. At least this seems the case for kale seeds, not sure about the others. But of course kale is the hardest to get. :(

My experience sadly disagrees with the comment on the simplicity and quickness of the strike mission. First time, we had two try hard drama queens in the squad that were constantly berating beginners for their low DPS (including me with solid 11k), didn't explain anything (yes, I watched the explanation before that first time) and two quit the squad after the second try with something like "This is a beginner group, so FU and you're elitist BS". After that the squad dissolved rather quickly. The second time, we had some people that wouldn't get the number mechanic and got the whole squad killed. Several rage quitted after another heavy discussion. Definitely not my type of content. Still don't have the achievement.., But otherwise thanks, your awesome videos helped me a lot!! Keep up the good work!

With the jade maw event it is important to know it has bug and sometimes doesn't give the item you will have to do it again untill you get it unfortunately
It's not a bug, it's tied to how many crystals you chuck at the boss. You have to do a % of the total damage to the maw. That's part of the reason why upscaling it with more than 8ish people is bad as it lowers the amount of damage each crystal does and increases how many you personally need to charge and throw to get credit and the item.
@@Ashendal i did it 5 times ( successful times) with 5 friend and believe me when I say I was throwing the most crystals out of us and still none of us got it 1 time
Pity they still gate the acquisition of this mount by a hard 10-man group instance, no previous mount needed any instanced content at all, so many will still never get this mount due to no being raider-level players.
If you think you need raiding level knowledge to complete a strike, you are wrong 😂 All you need is to complete the strike, not even cm, which is easily doable as long as you have keybinded your dodge and have somewhat decent gear
Always have to find a reason to cry about i guess, im not even close to being a "raid level player" went into a random pug with 0 knowledge in strike and cleared it without too much trouble just do what commander does and know some basic shit, there is only one important mechanic you need to know which is roman numbers over the head , look at a guide or ask it to commander and you are done
I'm a relatively new player, just halfway through Heart of Thorns story. I bought the expansion mainly for the turtle and the raptor skin. Considering how I’ve been able to unlock the 4 basic mounts in Path of Fire without many spoilers I was hoping this would be similar. However, after getting the damn thing, I’d like to add a couple of items to your guide most guides, including this one, have been taking for granted. - You need to unlock the jade bot mastery. This is vital to run the strike mission. This means you need to play through EoD’s story until you receive the mastery (chapter 5). No mastery points are needed but the bot needs to be enabled to access the Strike boss. No way around it. - You also need access to the arborstone map. I myself have no idea how to unlock the map because I used a Teleport to Friend to someone kind enough to pop in and have me get in while bypassing the story requirement to do so. But you can’t simply log in, do the absolute insanity that’s required to start the achievement (namely getting the egg) and stroll in. It will be blocked without any sign telling you what to do to get in, as I found out after grinding like a madman to get the egg. A literal stone wall in front of the main expansion feature. I feel the need to share these elements because I was looking forward to enjoying the 10 years of story Anet has produced in a paced manner. But I also was not waiting to get my money´s worth regarding my EoD purchase. Thus, any player that may share these mistakes I made for the sake of enjoying the damn story, needs to ALSO spoil the hell out of the entire narrative just to get the marketing advert employed to get new consumers in the game. I have no idea why Anet poured so much alleged work in refining their story’s conclusion if they only intended for people who have stuck around since launch (and admittedly a considerable minority in the player base) to enjoy it, whilst forcing newcomers to spoil everything just to get access to what they bought. It would have been less catastrophic to just charge gems for the damn thing. EDIT: Forgot to mention how epic Nox's editing is getting. In the words of philosopher Smith, das hot.
I really don't get your point. Yes, Raptor, Springer and Skimmer were quite easy to obtain and PdF-story leads you to all of these quite early. For the griffon you need to complete PoF-Story. For the Skyscale technically not all Living World 4 story was needed, but all maps were, which comes close to. Now for the Turtle you need all 4 maps + Arborstone and the collections begins on finishing the last. If you play all EoD-story you'll have the bot as well. What's wrong with this? It's straight forward und much easier to optain then i.e. legandary trinklet collections. Teleport to a Friend isn't designed to skip all story. If you really want to play it all in the right order ... well, there were no mounts intended for the HoT-Expansion.
hysterical that what made me slow down when getting the turtle wasn't the DE meta, i got that first try, it wasn't the strike mission, i got that first try (btw people asking for LI or KP in strikes lfg are insane), also it wasn't the Jade Maw event, it took 3 tries, BUT LEVIATHAN MY DETESTED i don't even know anymore how many tries i did untill finally group managed to kill him
I just legit ran a group through kp strike. 9 people last phase 4 alive(myself being one of the 4) legit down it after a good few attempts messy attemps, though good attemps nonetheless! Fun strike mission too. Now just have the last 3 items to get for the turtle :)
Even harder 6 months later. Not only can't you even get the even started because nobody is fishing, but when the event stats you maybe see one other person come by to see that there is no hope and leave. Ideally you need 8 people on boats at the top to get rid of the armor plates and a lot of people attacking the fish underwater. Seems totally hopeless.
This thrusters is so complicated for a casual GW2 player like me to get using either method it may as well be impossible. At this point I DON'T want them to EVER add new mounts since I'll never be able to get them. Add stuff I can actually get please as a casual player feels like I got scammed out of my money with EoD.
i see vids saying it's a strike mission, wiki says strike mission, mukluk and others say meta event. Meta event doesn't even pop up when the event timer says it should. SO F"ING CONFUSED. Someone please help!? What's real? What am I supposed to do!?
@@MuklukUA-cam I did it once with OTC. We had 7 supports and all of the DPS died at the start. I believe we finished 20-30 minutes in with 3 people left alive.
Yep, not going to bother getting the Siege Turtle, don't need it to play the game and to be honest other than the props of saying oh look I have a Siege Turtle and if you are a solo player like me they are pretty much useless.
The only value of a Turtle to a solo player seems to be the 50% extra stamina to the other mounts. Which is nice, but it can be skipped. We have managed without those 50% until now, so it's just a nice but optional bonus.
i got it a couple days ago i was scared of the strike as id never done content like this in gw2 but dont worry it wasnt too hard we did it first go with 2 deaths, not me lol, if youve played ff14 its easier than ex i think
I dont really understand the people acting like this is a somehow impossible feat. Its easier than both of the flying mounts combined. Its not even timegated. If you just Dont Want the mount whatever. But not wanting the mount because you think its to hard is an entirely different delusion. This is a mount you could get in 1 sitting.
What no one is saying about the turtle mount, is that you have to do the "End of Dragons" story, up to chapter 8, in order to open the portal to Arborstone. Otherwise, you collect the egg after the meta, and can do NOTHING else. So, this mount might be easy, but that's only AFTER you complete up to chapter 8 of the story. This is quite the grind.
I never thought that i would say this but i don't even want the thing and have no use for it as a solo player, and im not a fan of EoD, But thanks for the heads up,

Arenanet REALLY dropped the ball on this one... At least on my server, it's fairly safe to say that currently, this mount is COMLETELY UNOBTAINABLE for most people. And people are getting more and more pissed. - Personally I've done at least 40 (probably well over 50) attempts on the meta, last two yesterday - still no success. So I'm not getting the egg that way. - People are giving up on the meta. It's getting harder to even have a decent amount of people joining in on it. The event just north of the final fight failed once yesterday due to too few joining in, so the the finale wasn't even unlocked, resetting the whole zone. - The rewards from the meta (except egg) is rumored to be absolutely terrible. Therefore I doubt anyone will repeat it as a farming method - even if they nerf it to below trivial, it's just a waste of time. So less and less people will join in. This alone makes it the worst meta in the game. - NO ONE is doing metas in other EoD zones - heck, most random events simply expires unless I solo them. How to get the other stuff then? This makes me wonder if people are getting the egg at all, regardless of method. - There are FAR MORE people doing OLD metas on my server, than EoD metas, and that's a TERRIBLE sign. - Only ONCE have I even seen anyone using the turtle, so it's fairly safe to say that at least on my server, not many have it. - Someone said in chat yesterday he was pissed, and regretted buying the expansion. All who replied said they agreed. - Several said this is getting so frustrating they're likely to go back to other MMOs. Arenanet - next time you advertise new features, at least have the balls to admit not everyone is going to get it unlocked.
Idk what sort of dead ass garbage server you're on bro but transfer ASAP. I got it done on my first attempt. I had NO knowledge on the fight whatsoever. This was 1 week ago when the content is not "current" anymore and there is literally less people running it. Anet didnt drop the ball on this one at all lol. Its still easier than both the gryphon AND the skyscale combined. This is the type of collection i can do in 1 sitting. Im not saying get good.... But dont act like no one can get the mount xD Its not fucking hard.

I agree with you there should be a choice whether to do mission strike or some other task.It's hard to find 9 people to do this mission.

I wonder if the turtel can be used in the Drizzelwood meta. Have to test it once.
Test and it works you can use it to destory door and such. Meta is now faster and maybe even more simple.

hysterical that what made me slow down when getting the turtle wasn't the DE meta, i got that first try, it wasn't the strike mission, i got that first try (btw people asking for LI or KP in strikes lfg are insane), also it wasn't the Jade Maw event, it took 3 tries, BUT LEVIATHAN MY DETESTED i don't even know anymore how many tries i did untill finally group managed to kill him
I just legit ran a group through kp strike. 9 people last phase 4 alive(myself being one of the 4) legit down it after a good few attempts messy attemps, though good attemps nonetheless! Fun strike mission too. Now just have the last 3 items to get for the turtle :)

Nobody does levi anymore. Really hard to get this done.
Even harder 6 months later. Not only can't you even get the even started because nobody is fishing, but when the event stats you maybe see one other person come by to see that there is no hope and leave. Ideally you need 8 people on boats at the top to get rid of the armor plates and a lot of people attacking the fish underwater. Seems totally hopeless.
This thrusters is so complicated for a casual GW2 player like me to get using either method it may as well be impossible. At this point I DON'T want them to EVER add new mounts since I'll never be able to get them. Add stuff I can actually get please as a casual player feels like I got scammed out of my money with EoD.

i see vids saying it's a strike mission, wiki says strike mission, mukluk and others say meta event. Meta event doesn't even pop up when the event timer says it should. SO F"ING CONFUSED. Someone please help!? What's real? What am I supposed to do!?
So Strikes? Are they like dungeons or what? I like the dungeons quite a bit, but heard they don’t exist past base game
They are raids but way easier you just fight a big boss some mechanics
Dungeons, even in explorer mode, have kind of story. Strikes don't have much talk and are (mostly) very short.
Did they recently nerf the meta? I just got the egg, from the meta, first try with a pug.

That Strike is not as easy as you say. Took us 3 attempts and well over an hour to beat it.
I gave up on the turtle mount lol I have a hard time getting the strike mission.

@@MuklukUA-cam I did it once with OTC. We had 7 supports and all of the DPS died at the start. I believe we finished 20-30 minutes in with 3 people left alive.

Yep, not going to bother getting the Siege Turtle, don't need it to play the game and to be honest other than the props of saying oh look I have a
Siege Turtle and if you are a solo player like me they are pretty much useless.
The only value of a Turtle to a solo player seems to be the 50% extra stamina to the other mounts. Which is nice, but it can be skipped. We have managed without those 50% until now, so it's just a nice but optional bonus.
i got it a couple days ago i was scared of the strike as id never done content like this in gw2 but dont worry it wasnt too hard we did it first go with 2 deaths, not me lol, if youve played ff14 its easier than ex i think
I dont really understand the people acting like this is a somehow impossible feat. Its easier than both of the flying mounts combined. Its not even timegated.
If you just Dont Want the mount whatever. But not wanting the mount because you think its to hard is an entirely different delusion.
This is a mount you could get in 1 sitting.

What no one is saying about the turtle mount, is that you have to do the "End of Dragons" story, up to chapter 8, in order to open the portal to Arborstone. Otherwise, you collect the egg after the meta, and can do NOTHING else. So, this mount might be easy, but that's only AFTER you complete up to chapter 8 of the story. This is quite the grind.
I never thought that i would say this but i don't even want the thing and have no use for it as a solo player, and im not a fan of EoD, But thanks for the heads up,

Arenanet REALLY dropped the ball on this one...
At least on my server, it's fairly safe to say that currently, this mount is COMLETELY UNOBTAINABLE for most people. And people are getting more and more pissed.
- Personally I've done at least 40 (probably well over 50) attempts on the meta, last two yesterday - still no success. So I'm not getting the egg that way.
- People are giving up on the meta. It's getting harder to even have a decent amount of people joining in on it. The event just north of the final fight failed once yesterday due to too few joining in, so the the finale wasn't even unlocked, resetting the whole zone.
- The rewards from the meta (except egg) is rumored to be absolutely terrible. Therefore I doubt anyone will repeat it as a farming method - even if they nerf it to below trivial, it's just a waste of time. So less and less people will join in. This alone makes it the worst meta in the game.
- NO ONE is doing metas in other EoD zones - heck, most random events simply expires unless I solo them. How to get the other stuff then? This makes me wonder if people are getting the egg at all, regardless of method.
- There are FAR MORE people doing OLD metas on my server, than EoD metas, and that's a TERRIBLE sign.
- Only ONCE have I even seen anyone using the turtle, so it's fairly safe to say that at least on my server, not many have it.
- Someone said in chat yesterday he was pissed, and regretted buying the expansion. All who replied said they agreed.
- Several said this is getting so frustrating they're likely to go back to other MMOs.
Arenanet - next time you advertise new features, at least have the balls to admit not everyone is going to get it unlocked.

I got it done on my first attempt. I had NO knowledge on the fight whatsoever. This was 1 week ago when the content is not "current" anymore and there is literally less people running it.
Anet didnt drop the ball on this one at all lol. Its still easier than both the gryphon AND the skyscale combined. This is the type of collection i can do in 1 sitting. Im not saying get good.... But dont act like no one can get the mount xD Its not fucking hard.
