"You want to ball until you fall, I can help you with that" - shots fired at the Roc.
you want beef? i can let a slug melt in your cap
Caprisun R It was a response to Memphis Bleek's song What you think of that released earlier on that year in 1999 Bleek responded on my mind right then Nas responded on the bridge
Memphis Bleek in particular.
You want beef i can let a slug melt in your hat

I hate this video! Love this song though. This beat and Nas telling his mf story as usual. Puffy dumb fuck videos era started the departure of nyc street videos aligning with the songs to tell the story as the lyricists wrote it.
Nas called it.. curved flat screens that are touch. Kids in the late 90’s remember how this album hit. Had my ass planted for a week listening to it over and over and over.
I was 13 years old when Nas - Nastradamus Album came out in 1999, I am 35 years old now, born on October of 1986, Real 90s Kid 💯. Eminem was fresh, new and popular when he first came out with "My Name Is" in 1999, I also remember Ja Rule's "Holla Holla" in 1999 too.
damn. always nice to see input from people that lived in the 90’s!
He is the prophet of rap. He predicted the fall of the World Trade Center and modern technology through this video. Hence Nastradamus/Nostradamus.
The hook is Nasty
gwapo bandcamp you know ... as long as I’ve known this song I’ve never really realized that he was describing his names

He's Nasty Nas ding-dong
He just needed that spark which Jay ultimately gave him. Between his mother being sick and trying to go mainstream for sales, he lost his true voice. I'm glad he didn't sell his soul and realized this is not who Nas should be. I love the progression of his music. He started out as a kid and evolved into the legend that he is today. What didn't kill him mad him a better Emcee.
agreed .
Could've said it better
Agreed takover was the Spark he needed to making better music with Stillmatic and God's Son.
***** they say its bad because its basically "i am" cd 2
The song and the video go together tho, the video represents people hating him because of what he is and has, like Jesus.
You gotta love 1999......
Even 2000
Everything was futuristic
So cheesy unlike Illmatic which sounds timeless and could’ve been written centuries ago
That first Grammy is long overdue. Congratulations Nasty Nas.👑🏆

Nas covers all forms of life, This song is way over people's heads. He had his run with conscious songs and balanced it out with songs like this showing you flashy shit, this still bangs
Groove is smooth AF, Catchy hook, the lyrics are actually on point
This got absolutely shit on back in the day ...Jesus the standard was so high back then
*Song turns on*
Bleek: nah this sound hard
Nas:” you wanna ball til you fall I can help you with that “
Bleek:😮
People can say what they want about this song, but the chorus is catching as hell. I looove it.
I love the song as well. I have no idea why so many people seem to hate it?
I think that most people judge this song from the video because this song’s track is from another older classic HipHop song.. “Let The Funk Flow” by EPMD. If the video was shot in the projects with 1000 people all hooded out, they’d be singing a different tune. This is a straight up banger.
Even the video is dope
Songs good hook suxks
This song isn't THAT bad tbh...i guess because it's Nas, thats why it gets clowned. If Mase or Puffy released this song, people would've been less harsh.
This shit wasn't the illest song ever, but the beat is definitely fire. He spits a little shit on here too.
Even if jay z had done it dey would say he is the best.
Or jay z lollll
False. Jay z never put out something even close to as bad as this garbage

The song is called Nastradamus (Nostradamus - known for predicting the future)
3:33 Light shines on the twin towers and everyone stares at them.
3 years later you know what happened to the towers and everyone was staring at them before they fell.
That’s the twin towers? And Nas is a mason

Nas Discography Best to Worst:
1. It Was Written
2. Illmatic
3. The Lost Tapes
4. I Am...
5. Stillmatic
6. Gods Son
7. Life Is Good
8. Nastradamus
9. Untitled
10. Hip-Hop Is Dead
11. Streets Disciple
First 5 are classics, easily.
Damn fam, i put Stillmatic at 4
Distant relatives though?
Untitled at Number 9??? I think I understand where you're coming from though. I didn't appreciate the "hype" around/leading up to Untitled. I thought Nas took the promotion way too far. In fact, he nearly compromised the album by overdoing it with the promotion. But if you listen to Sly Fox, Slave and the Master, Southern Fried Chicken, Queens Get The Money (Intro), Louis Farrakhan, Testify...I mean, that's easily six classics right there! I liked the whole album minus two or three tracks. I think the "Untitled" album is top 5 easily...it was a great conceptual album. Here's how I'd order it.
1. Illmatic
2. The Lost Tapes
3. Stillmatic
4. It Was Written
5. Untitled
6. Gods Son
7. I Am
8. Life is Good
9. Hip Hop is Dead
10. Streets Disciple
11. Nastradamus (this really is the worst in his entire catalog, but still LIGHT YEARS better than 85% of what's out there. Skits were really corny, but I think people fail to realize that "Project Windows" and "Life We Chose" were really good songs).
