My new 18 pipe wood cabinet + brief tour of my current unsmoked pipe collection

- As you know by now I love briar & meerschaum pipes not only for their smoking capabilities but also for their sheer beauty & elegance. I specially purchased a German made 18-pipe wood cabinet to keep my unsmoked beautiful pipes securely while I can still enjoy them visually. In today’s video I will show you the cabinet & brief tour of my current unsmoked pipe collection.
18 pipe cabinet spec:
Brand: GERMANUS 18 pipe wood cabinet. (made in Germany)
Best suited for pipe no longer then 160mm on top shelve & 163mm on lower 2 shelves Dimensions: 44 x 41 x 16.7 cm.
Each pipe is held securely by the mouthpiece and bowl and can be easily stored.
Very nice set up. Seems to achieve the goal we all strive for- organizing into one small area, all our favorite pipes and tobaccos.
I recently got nice stand alone cabinet from a neighbors garage sale. Has 5 shelves, and stands about 5 foot 10 inches.
I been playing with the idea of drilling rows of holes in the top shelf to stick pipes in stem first, while the bowls rest there on the shelf.
The rest of the shelves can hold tins and jars. And i can install a lock to keep my kids out! 😂

Lovely cabinet and pipes, Nathan. You don’t need to give us any excuses as to why you don’t want to smoke those pipes! To you, they are works of art that happen to be pipes. I might look into one of those cabinets. Most of my pipes are sitting in leather pipe stands that I made from old belts. They are all on a shelf in a tall upright cabinet, so because of the cabinet door they are not exposed to light. You have a blessed week my friend.

I didn’t know if others buy pipes as art pieces not only for smoking purposes so I felt the need to explain myself😊 As for the cabinet it is well worth the money if you consider how much a similar numbered pipe stand cost. That cabinet seems to do exactly what you wanted, looks great! The Bing Corn Cob is a great looking pipe! I love my Missouri Meerschaums.
I agree. Perfect for what I needed. The Bing wasn’t easy to obtain for the 2nd time as I gave my first Bing to a new pipe smoker but I am happy I did make the effort

I have a couple of pipes unsmoked, including my L grade J.Ryan. I've a Giulliano Spitaletti on its way and I wonder if I will be able to bring myself round to smoking it - it speaks to me in so may ways. No doubt my utilitarian nature will ensure it is fully enjoyed.

I agree the Ashton is a stunner as all PCOL pipes of the year are. Yeah, my tobacco stock is growing but as you know I am not the only one here enjoying them😊 aren’t you on your way up north, take care on those motorways
