I’m a mechanic, and I bought that same endoscope off Amazon for like 40$. It’s not amazing quality, but it has been good enough for me to find a coolant leak under the supercharger of a Range Rover, and I was able to see the inside of the combustion chamber of a ford 5.0 to diagnose it as a bad motor. Definitely has saved me 40$ worth of time in the past couple months.
@notmichael78 those range rovers leak water pumps, plastic lines under the charger and a bunch of other things. Also you don't gotta remove the supercharger to replace those pipes. Take the throttle out, use a VIM stubby torx and snap on swivel with a couple extensions and you can get the bolts out. The new one comes in 2 pieces and fits with the charger installed

16:50 The lens is decently popular but isn't worth the price of $50 at all. People either make them homemade or you can buy them usually for $10 if you buy them from the right person. It is literally there for a nostalgic feeling for those who grew up using disposable cameras. Side note: if you want to make this at home, you can buy a disposable camera at a CVS (or use one you might already have) and use it until it runs out of the film. Just pop out the little glass lens at the front and order a lens mount cover for your camera. Measure the glass from the disposable lens and then cut a hole into the cap and hot glue the little glass onto the cap, and there you go

18:00 that’s converts your camera into an old school pin hole camera. It may be built with low quality materials but it’s actually a very interesting and fun tool for photographers looking for a fast cheap way for vintage style photos.
Or you can convert the photos in software with a filter after the fact and end up with better quality "low quality" photos AND be able to revert out of pinhole style if it doesn't look like you want.
Still way too expensive for what it is, especially if you live outside the US, therefore I don't consider calling it a scam bad when you can buy a knockoff that does the same for less on aliexpress for like 15$.
That cheap lens reminds me of a little project that comes and goes every few years (in popularity): you take a disposable camera, remove the lens, glue it into a (3d printed) bodycap for your mount, and voila, you have very expensive camera shoot pictures like it 5 bucks + development! It is more of a novelty item, and as far as it goes i really like it for that, it does what it should and really comes close to the actual disposable camera pictures, without all the "disposable" waste. It mostly rides on nostalgia, so if you don't have that...
@@halokiller711 The material cost is minimal but they have had to do a fair amount of R&D for a niche product, can't just slap any lens in and expect it to work; it's expensive but not unreasonable. People always forget what is required to get there, optics is a wild field

@@JMKarymidoN no I get that, but their reaction to it didn't really make me think they got the point of it's existence. If you have a 3D printer and a disposable camera you could probably replicate it for much cheaper. I love the look and classic vibe of a disposable lens but $50 for that horrible plastic print is not it.
15:10, borescope. At $50, not horrible. We used those often in the automotive repair industry to look at engine interals without completely disassembling the engine.

My wife and I each have a bed jet. With the dual zone sheet it's been amazing. It has an app that you can use, but you don't have to, you can just use the remote that comes with it. The app not being required was a huge selling point for me over the 8sleep.
I find it rare that I have to turn the fan above about 30%. I may briefly have the fan cranked all the way up for a few minutes right when I get in bed in the winter. I have a "futon dryer" from Japan that's meant to kill bedbugs that's basically a MUCH cheaper version of the BedJet. Has a timer, so it only stays on for so long, but your bed IS nice and toasty if you get in right after. It even has a "summer mode" where it does the heating, then a short bit of cooling, that gets the bed back down to room temperature before you get in. Wouldn't say it's actually good for "cooling" but if you just want the heater, futon dryers are the way to go!
I’ve used a Bed jet for a few years now, the only bit of upkeep is cleaning the filter, no subscription I don’t even use the sheet as it doesn’t come standard, but I thoroughly enjoying it

8:25 There is a metal stand in the FlipGo box, you can use it to stand the entire thing up. I have one. It's awesome for portability, though I recommend the 13" one more as it has better PPI. You can also get these as touchscreens, which is pretty cool with stuff like Samsung DeX. Though I will admit the brightness on the two displays is not exactly the same, but per display brightness is very uniform. And beyond like espresso displays or UPERFECT that are priced similarly, there are no good decent quality options for portable displays.

@@Bladsmith I run a small shop where we manage a lot of Meta and TikTok ads, primarily for self-built products. These creators won’t be buying a Porsche from turning their passion into a business, even though it involves a lot of time and uncertainty. And, the effect was cool.
The alternative is to buy a generic body cap for your camera ($5 or less), drill a hole in it (if you have a drill already, you can get a cheap set of step drills for $5-10), and glue in an actual disposable camera lens. If you got a local film lab, they usually have bins of disposable cameras that go to a recyclers, so they'll give you some for free if you ask, the kodak funsaver ones are super easy to harvest the lens from. Even if you had to buy a new disposable for this, you could probably make your own for $30, obviously a lot more if you don't own a drill. So i agree it isn't the worst price, if you really want that look. But if you have a drill, some bits that can do 16mm holes, and free stuff from the lab, you can make your own for $10 or less.

Even If the product happens to arrive doa or with a defect. Ur not going to be talking to customer service, ur just gonna fill out a support ticket and ship it back. The only metric they could measure is quality of the product and how long it takes to go back and forth. Which is just a basic review.

Got the Ocean Galaxy Light not even from Temu, but from a local Chinese shop for the wife, and the mood light effect is like actually really nice. We got more of them (different versions) since then, and they're awesome. They consume next to nothing in terms of electricity, we can power them with leftover phone chargers or free USB ports on a PC or laptop, and they are perfectly enough to light up the room in colors. If You want to use the laser show (that is individually controlled, separately from the RGB, also independent from the Bluetooth or memory card music player) it is best placed slightly above eye level to avoid looking directly into the laser lens, which is actually not the big dome on the top, but the tiny piece of glass next to it. @@jannik4593 that's true as long as the company making the laser (they self certify) tests it correctly. The class also depends on the wavelength of light as it's based on whether you have a blink reflex to it (this is a terrible way of doing it by the way) Green lasers for example use frequency doubling crystals to convert infrared light to green, these aren't 100% efficient and still allow infrared light through. Manufacturers should block this, but often don't. So your class one green laser might actually have infrared in it, making it class 2 or 3. Source. The dispo lens is in the name, It is a disposable camera lens in a mirrorless camera, it is mean to give you the aethesic of a disposable camera, and when shooting landscape of outside it is actually pretty good. it is not meant to compete with glass, it is meant to give you a certain look... And if you use a flash in the camera it actually looks pretty close to disposable lens
The tiny camera lens is what's oftenly called a "lens cap lens" or "mount cap lens" or similar. The point is, it's a cap to cover the mount when "no lens" is attached, but this way you can still shoot something in a panick.
That's actually a really handy use case. Seems like there's more comments about that lens than any other product shown. People seem to like the effect. If it had been about $15 or even $20 the maker would probably have been inundated with orders.
I've been using a Bedjet for a long while
Absolutely must have for anyone that can afford it, game changer for the sleep

WHAT?
14:55 Class 1 Lasers are actually safe for eyes
Class 2 Lasers are safe because of the natural Eyelid closure reflex
but class 3 and 4 are actually dangerous for your eyes (you can find class 3R laser in laser pointers and -scanners)
@@jannik4593 that's true as long as the company making the laser (they self certify) tests it correctly. The class also depends on the wavelength of light as it's based on whether you have a blink reflex to it (this is a terrible way of doing it by the way)
Green lasers for example use frequency doubling crystals to convert infrared light to green, these aren't 100% efficient and still allow infrared light through. Manufacturers should block this, but often don't. So your class one green laser might actually have infrared in it, making it class 2 or 3.
Source. Did a PhD in physics that involved using lasers daily and having to test them for public engagement and for general safety in the lab. None of the green laser pointers that we tested that claimed to be class 1, were class 1.
That camera lens and ones like it can be fun for creative SOOC disposable camera looking photos. I have a couple and they're fun to use from time to time. The images look like crap but that's the point. It's a disposable camera lens adapted to use with mirrorless.
You should do a similar video where you compare the prices on facebook ad products and the prices of the same products on Chinese Taobao. I regularly find things marked up 5-10x for the international market by some drop shippers with a few sleek facebook video ads. The Apple lookalike docking hub you showed is 85 USD on Taobao, which is not a huge difference, but still remarkable.
The monitor stand was 40 USD, but only 16 usd on taobao
@@tobiasb6892 They got to wait for some American brand rebrands it or else " It will spy on you !😱!"
You don't even have to go to China for that; Amazon usually has listings for half the price of drop shipping websites. Looking at it and at my empty bank account makes me want to scam people.
Well i enjoyed that alott, can’t wait for part 2. Side note i think that niche magnetic box that uses a subscription could be rigged up using an Arduino, some magnets, and a bunch of other scraps that you can get for a quarter of the price.
And if you like the idea and looks of it, you can probably buy it without subscription and change/reprogram the MCU for very cheap
11:03 its an Anbernic RG353V just being resold by a 3rd party, probably non - legitimate, company. It even states the model number on the instruction manual in the video and on the box. There are many companies like this but, from what I’ve seen, they mainly sell Powkiddy consoles. I do have a 353V and it’s pretty great for handheld emulation. my unit also has android on it [which does not have Google Play support]. Most of these resellers tend to put pirated games on the consoles they buy and resell too. Something to keep note on. [Pls don’t pirate]
hell naw, if i cant buy a game anymore, its not piracy to download it for free.
0:35 the lowpass filter on the music when the door closed was gold 🤯

magnetically lock? I'm pretty sure a kid can just open it, magnetic locks aren't usually very good.
5:21 Birdie doesn't need the power cord, but it does need to have the wallmount installed to work. Too bad they didn't read the manual.
They never do. x)
Yeah, it works wonderfully at my place!
Yeah it's a bit disappointing when they laugh about a product but don't test it properly. I know he said it's probably working fine, but that wasn't the vibe they were giving off.
17:22 I thought the lights just went off....!!! Yeah it works....!! Not great but it works....!! It's actually a kind of Pin hole camera / lense....where less the hole size , more you will get the clarity....!!
Dude I can’t get over how good Elijah is on these videos. Him and Linus are such a good duo together
For all the harsh words that that 3d-printed lens got, it does bring an interesting lo-fi spooky vibe to the video.
Yeah it kinda makes it feel like watching the video in a dream
7:40 I know what website you're on, Linus. You can't fool me. I can recognize e621 from 8 pixels.
17:50 for that price you can get a secondhand Logitech Brio 4K with Windows Hello
Yeah why is no one commenting about that dogshit quality for 150 bucks. Crazy
Or just use your phone camera
Dude it's 30 minutes since launch and there's already 300 comments!
Linus, you and your team are very loved with many devoted & involved fans.
And welcoming too! I'm a pretty new subscriber and new to tech stuff and everyone has been super nice and helpful. Genuinely welcoming instead of condescending. Love this community! ❤️
The phone charging box thing at 23:00 would literally be cheaper as a pi pico w project plus a 3d printer, some scrap teakwood, a magnetic lock, and other ancillary parts. In fact that’s probably what their first one was made of…
You mean instead of metaphorically cheaper?
@@citypavement That is what he means
@@citypavement Literally here doesn’t mean “not metaphorically”, but instead it means “in practice”. A more fitting replacement for “metaphorically” in your message above, is “theoretically”. Something can be possible in a very specific situation (theoretically). Or it is possible in a general range of situations (in this case what I believe literally implies).

id love to see the more niche versions of these with the comparison to either your best solution or an inhouse solution and why its better.
The tone and timing of him saying "correct" is pretty cool. dude would be a great guy to hang with
I love this concept! LTT"s been getting even more gold recently and I love it!
Just like his hair lol
How is this gold? Anyone can buy a bunch of garbage online.
@@citypavement I can't I'm poor
23:52 Missed opportunity to set up Elijah as the next "You're fired" candidate. "What's the admin password?" "You're fired, that's the password!" LOL
24:30 Surely there's an airgapped laptop you could try lol. That said, I don't trust the photo stick. That's one that my mom fell for, and I just never wanted to give it a try because of that fear.
26:04 Like that time you watercooled your bed lol
Elijah + Linus testing goofy stuff = great content! More of this!
2:05 Elijah throwing Logistics under the bus again.
12:21 key cap and key switch puller may not be a cleaning tool but it does aid in cleaning when you have to strip your board bare and give it a deep clean.
omg please keep trolling Linus with stupid reasons for buying the products, "what if its good!?" his disappointed face is so good

Oh, dispocam, I get it!
As in disposable camera. People actually do want those lenses, they're for getting a 90's/y2k vibe.
Remember when you had to go to Zellers, or K-Mart and get your film developed in an hour?
yeah but 50 is a rippoff
Right, but they cost 0.5 to $1 on Aliexpress...
@@potatofuryy They do not.
@@SaitoGray ? I found many listings with the most expensive ones being like $2.
