Premium FoL packs aren't signature packs, they are just "Golden"
I think your math / information is wrong this time! There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between SIGNATURE GOLDEN PACKS (March of the Lichking only !!!) and GOLDEN PACKS (Festival of Legends onward).
Signature golden packs cost 500 gold and have a 15% drop chance for a signature card, t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶C̶A̶N̶'̶T̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶e̶n̶c̶h̶a̶n̶t̶. (they changed that, so now you can).
Golden packs cost 400 gold. Signature cards from FoL onward have the exact same drop rate as golden legendaries. You can get them from golden and normal packs.
THIS!! same here. i got confused as well.,. are regular FOL golden packs now considered SIGNATURE golden packs? price is different, 400g vs 500g
@@AndrewDy FoL golden packs are not signature golden packs! Yes, they can drop signature cards, but that is because everthing about signature cards got reworks including drop rates in packs.
Yeah I think the Signature Golden packs are a lot better than what is stated here due to the 15% rate on signature legendaries for only 100 more gold
I'm not sure if I did this correctly but here are my rough calcs for signature golden packs (assuming all rares and commons are worth dust only and assuming all legendaries and epics you would have crafted non golden if you didn't open them)
For first 10 packs = 5000 Gold
1.5 signature legendaries, 1 golden legendary, 2 golden epics, 37 golden commons, 8.5 golden rares
2.5*1600+2*400+37*50+8.5*100=7500 dust value (actually slightly higher since the probability of signature legendary and epic is a bit higher that what I calclated here)
vs 50 regular packs (not counting guaranteed legendary in first 10 since every player should've opened at least 10 regular packs through normal gameplay)
2.5 legendaries, 10 epics, 175 commons, 62.5 rares
2.5*1600+10*400+175*5+62.5*20=10125 dust value (actually higher since this doesn't account for golden cards you could get in normal packs)
After the first 10 gold packs you are only getting 0.5 gold legendaries every 10 packs so the value goes down to 6700 dust.
Now since most epics are not useful and there isn't a bonus to collecting most of them unlike with legendaries if you consider epics to to be worth dust value only then the regular packs go down to
2.5*1600+10*100+175*5+62.5*20=7125 dust value (actually higher since this doesn't account for golden cards you could get in normal packs)
So if you open 2 or more useful epics you would've crafted in the regular packs then regular packs come out ahead. Otherwise they are a bit behind the first 10 signature golden packs but always better than the signature golden after the first 10.
Lastly if most legendaries aren't useful to you and you have no chance of getting the legendary collector achievement for the diamond one and you are looking for pure dust only then I think it's roughy 110 dust per packs which works out to 5500 dust so signature golden is better for pure dust

I mean. I spend basically $100 each set (the pass and the mega bundle), which is less than half of what I used to spend on Yugioh, and it gets me every card from an xpac, or almost every card. I got everything last set, and I'm only missing like 3 legends from the last three sets. I also currently have 15k dust that I haven't used yet, and 16 out of 25 legends from the current set.
@@ShadowmancerLord it's still a shit load of money. That's 5 triple A games per year which you keep forever. Cards in Hearthstone constantly get overshadowed by new powercreep cards and after all it's online game so one day servers will shut down and your cards will be forever gone.

@@projectx5154 True, but if they're having fun with it NOW, and have the money to do that. Who cares? I've played WoW for roughly 16 years, and one day all the sub money I spent, which is roughly $2,880. One day that game will be long gone, and even if it is around for a while yet I have since stopped playing. But I also put a lot of time into it. Thus I got my money's worth. Each person can individually decide how much something is worth to them. Triple A games tend to be pretty bad these days anyway, in my opinion. Unless you like the millionth edition of COD (if you do, then more power to you) So, eh.

Festival of legends are not singature packs though, only march of lich king are... In legends gold packs drop rate of signature is exactly same as drop rate of regular golden legendary...
Personaly (free 2 play player), I recently purchased 4 golden packs (with the 1600 gold I had left) instead of normal packs just after I obtained every common and rare cards (helped by the the reward track free rares), because after calculation, one golden pack give more dust than 4 normal packs to craft the epics and legendary I need for my decks (4*50+100=300 > 160= 4*(4*5+20) ).
I didn't know for the legendary in the first 7 packs, so I think when I'll have the money, I'll buy 3 more to get it, but I should not forget to economize 2 000 G for the mini-set !

Am i the only one confused beacause you are showing the festival golden pack , but talking about signature golden packs the whole time ? Are they not different ? On blizzards website they have separate drop chances for "regular" golden packs and signature ones. Are festival ones signature? if so are nathria ones signature as well?

Nathria has Signature Golden packs (with the 1/14 pity timer for signature cards), FoL just has regular Golden packs (with a 1/40 pity timer for signature cards).

The only set that has signature packs is March of the Lich King. Which have a 14-pack pity timer.
Every other set has regular golden packs, which are on a 40-pack pity timer.
This is also why a golden pack costs 400g and the MLK signature packs cost 500g. They have increased signature card drop rate.

free2play here, I've been considering getting some Golden packs, since I play Wild, the ability to get Legendaries of my choice is relevant, if it's likely I'm going to craft those cards anyway. Also have the Gold to do it. I will probably hold off at least for now, go for collecting instead of that, seek Dust in other places for crafting.
One question, for f2p players who can get the maximum or close to maximum resources of the battlepass: Is it recommended to buy golden packs from the previous expansions, until the first legendary? With the amount of gold one could get, its most likely only doable in the year long run, if you still wanna get most of the cards, but it might be a good idea to get the guaranteed golden legendaries at least
That's what I've been doing. If you've already gotten enough cards to build the decks you want, they show in this video that gold packs are more dust efficient. So at least getting the guaranteed legendary seems worth to me, especially if you actually like gold cards. I just need to get my castle nathria legendary and then I'll be stopping to save up for the next mini set/expansion. But if you still have a pretty incomplete collection and are low on dust, the increased quantity of epics and legendaries from normal packs should probably be the priority.
As said in the video, it's good for being able to dust the Legendary or two and get whichever one you want. But you lose out on some Epics. It seems easier for me to refuse because I have more spare Dust than usual, but if someone has no Dust and reeeeeeally needs to craft one Legendary then yeah, I can see it as worth it. Situational, for sure.
I really wish that Festival of Legends had signature golden packs. Last time, I got quite a few signatures. But, these are just golden packs and not signature packs. So the odds for signatures is still pretty high. I've bought 50 golden packs and got 2 signatures.
Yeah it's basically a 50/50 shot whether you get a Signature or a Gold legend from them iirc and it has the 40 pack pity timer as well.

@@k1mer It's a separate pity timer for each set. I got a gold legend in my 10-set from the preorder bundle.

Hey guys, I’m sorry but unless there was a translation error I believe this entire video is outdated. The newest expansion festival of legends doesn’t have signature golden packs!! They only have normal golden packs! Signature golden packs can only be bought for the litch king expansion.

I bought some Golden packs from this expansion, believing they were Signature Golden Packs. I was disappointed (and felt I was cheated) when I didn't open a Signature card until my 22nd Golden Pack. Only then did I realize these weren't Signature Golden packs.
Bundles have the free legends and sigs I always just buy a good bundle every week and it seems to best

@@Madrinass Unfortunately yeah. Signature Golden Packs were only used in the March of the Lich King expansion (when Signature cards were first introduced but couldn't be disenchanted). In these packs, the chance of getting a signature legendary was 15%, and guaranteed within 14 packs of the previous one.
Every other set since has just used Golden Packs, which have the 5% chance of getting a Signature legendary, and guaranteed within 40 packs of the previous one.
I assume they stopped using the Signature Golden Packs because players wanted to disenchant their signature cards, and these packs would have made them almost as common as Epic cards (Epic cards have a 21% chance of appearing in packs) and thus would give players much more dust for crafting.

That is beautiful and all but the Festival of Legend Packs are only regular golden packs, and no signature ones. Also signature golden packs from the last expansion cost 500 gold an not 400.

I think the best deal is to buy a golden miniset for 10k, you get about 12+k dust, but I understand that you have to save up gold for quite a while and not everyone wants to do that.
@Ali Super I meant it when you already bought every miniset with gold and opened every 10 packs from each expansion. I personally never disenchant every card from minisets some of them are pretty good or at least have a fun mechanic that could be busted in wild.
I'd like to see comparison of dust gain per gold coin of buying each possible type of packs.

I must admit, I'm a bit fucking stupid, so I couldn't quite follow along with a lot of what was said. So basically, if you're only planning to use gold, the signature/golden packs are *not* a good way to get dust? But if you're spending money, they're fine?
if u are not into getting most of the card from the expasion , then buying golden packs might be a good option only if u dust them all to get your specific card.
its a way to trade gold to dust. They also mentioned that ingame currency has a lower ratio of dust profit than real money

Like: if I get the gaurenteed card on the normal packs, then switch over to the golden packs; will there be a guaranteed drop in the first 7 or not?

i am a f2p but i bought 2 golden packs at the start of the expansion opened them first and then the regular and there was a golden legendary in those 2 golden packs {in the second golden pack}

I believe getting 10 normal packs, 7 golden packs and obtain the rest of the cards through Standard packs that they saved from the previous expansion will yield more dust overall since they're using free standard packs from Brawls and promotions. Would that methodology yield better results than opening 40 packs with saved gold?
Considering I’ve opened already standard packs and got a guaranteed legendary, is it worth to spend 2800 gold to get guaranteed signatures/legendary card or it’s wiser to spend gold on standard packs and hope for the best? I still don’t get it, if I haven’t opened golden packs before, will I get a guaranteed both golden leg + signature or either/or?
It is a 50/50 shot whether you get a Golden or a Signature Legendary. But there is a pity timer for both within 40 Golden packs.
Do normal and golden packs share the pitty timer?😅

i had opened 14 golden festival of legend expansion packs and yet i did not opened any signature cards. So may i know that does the 14packs first guaranteed pity timer only works for the golden signature packs? And also may i know how many golden FOL packs do i need to unpack in order to obtain my first signature cards? Thanks a lot
That pity timer of 14 exists only for golden signature packs (500 gold) from March of the Lichking as far as I know and you can't disenchant those signature cards!
From Festival of Legends onwards, signature cards have the exact same drop rate as golden legendaries, give the same amount of dust and can be optained from golden packs (400 gold) and normal packs (100 gold)
Yeah its guaranteed within 14 if you buy golden signature packs, you get one guaranteed within 40 if its just regular golden packs afaik

Signature packs just feel good to open even if it’s one at a time
Never bought golden or signature golden packs, and don’t plan to, until I get the entire non-golden collection, which requires around 700,000 dust in total, so this won’t happen… Maybe at all

Before they released the tavern pass I was f2p, now I always buy it for the price it's reasonable for me, I've never been interested in having the complete collection because in my opinion it's a waste of resources.

Quiero comprobar algo : mi idea era conseguir 1 legendaria dorada HACIENDO 1-10 paquetes , yo abri los primeros 5 paquetes de la nueva expansion y los 5 ultimos dorados de la nueva expansion , al final me termino saliendo en el paquete n°7 osea en el paquete dorado n°2. ¿Que probabilidad se me activo primero? ¿ la probabilidad al abrir 1-10 de la expansion ? o ¿ la probabilidad de abrir 1-5 paquetes dorados ? y si me compro otros 2 paquetes dorados ¿ me saldra la signature legendary ? por que ya serian 1-7 no ?

if you are not a semiwhale or full whale, the golden packs are not worth it for "regular" players.
on average, I get 12000 dust on 30 golden packs

No, it doesn't. Because drop rates in Golden and Signature Golden are different. You need to spend 3500 for it
A F2P player doesn't even care about having full collection of golden cards, If they give us the ability to a full collection of normal cards (while playing 1-2 hours daily) that would be awesome.
I think it took me about 200 packs to get the set in gold after also getting the preorders. I was able to disenchant the older signature cards from lich king. crafting gold cards is way better if you're trying to complete the set in gold.
Know what. Let me just not buy freaking packs for a set or two and I could buy a car. Sounds like a better deal.

Ah, I knew that signature packs is better for me in order to obtain pure dust for any card I want. But I anyway spend some money for 2 packs bundles in order to obtain all rare and common cards so I can dust their gold versions.
Also, I wonder if pack bundles with 2 legendaries and some set packs and standard packs is any way good option compared to small pre-order. I mean, I got total of 4 guaranteed legendaries instead of 2.
This is one of the best deals in the game and yes, you will get more value for less money. I always recommend buying a $20 bundle that contains 2 legendary cards. Potentially you get 2 legendary cards as a bonus + 1 legendary card + 4 epic cards on average and also 1100-1400 dust.
