    Managed to get a brand new one of these today and I must say it exceeds expectations after using the Logitech/Saitek yoke. A few niggles assigning buttons but fantastic otherwise. Only paid £150 for it too (not retail before you get excited) so happy days!

      £150 is a fantastic flight; very fluid yoke isn't it ;)

    Honeycomb is in the future for me for GA.
    For now I have Virpil cm3 gimbal and extension and constellation alpha prime with Thrustmaster TPR’s.
    One thing I love about these videos is that most of us probably use a desktop or table as well and not an expensive sim pit, although that would be nice.

      It's going to be difficult to beat this yoke.

    Further to my comment below, I tested the Logitech G Pro Flight rudder pedals with the XPC yoke, hub, and bravo quadrant, and it all works very nicely.

    my XPC has a friction issue if it is not mounted exactly on plane with your arms. If you pull up or down vertically in the slightest it gets very stiff. Nothing is loose, it just doesn't glide in and out as well making approach adjustments sticky.

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  Рік тому +3

      Yikes, that's the first time I've heard of that issue with it.
      If still possible for you: I would try and get a replacement unit, as it's designed to do the opposite of what you described.

    • @kazzercise
      @kazzercise Рік тому

      Sounds similar to the VelocityOne yoke. There's a guy who sells 3D printed adapter to fix that, as well as the file if you want to print one yourself. Wouldn't work for this, however

      @@Huddison I 3d printed an entire Authentikit cockpit for a Spitfire and fly with that. Alpha is gathering dust....feels bad but it really doesn't bother me. If I adjusted the tilt angle and mess with my seat height etc, it would be smooth...possibly. took it apart too and nothing is broken either.

    I have the XPC yoke as well as the bravo unit for the Xbox and they have really enhanced the experience. They are still some issues regarding the lighting on the back panels on the bravo unit on Xbox but the units feel very well built. I do need a set of rudder pedals but from my understanding only the Logitech pedals currently will work with this unit. I may be incorrect about this and like you said I haven’t heard much lately on the release of the Charlie rudder pedals.

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  Рік тому

      The Logitech Panels (multi-panel, radio panel etc) will not work on Xbox, but the Throttle quadrant does (mainly).
      I've heard of the Bravo lighting issues on Xbox, thought they might've sorted that out by now.

  • @peterprow6093
    @peterprow6093 Рік тому +2

    On Xbox it's an improvement over the V1 but I can't say I'm happy with mine.
    The actual yoke works great, but when coupled with the bravo the lights don't work and it's pretty impossible to use the autopilot area as without lights on the buttons you can't see what's what. This is a known issue and Honeycomb have made no efforts to remedy this since the product launch. I have to use a convoluted method of getting a turtle beach rudder to work as they haven't made any progress on their own pedals and the logitech pedals lasted five minutes and are really poorly made, as well as being difficult to find.
    The things it does well it does very well - but If there were more options on XBOX then I wouldn't have one.

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  Рік тому

      That's why I prefer to use my Logitech Panels. They are directly in front of me and easy to read what's happening.
      Obviously, it's not possible to use them on Xbox.

    I upgraded to the HC Alpha and Bravo combo quite some time ago. These replaced the Turtle B Vi set up I had up until then and which is, to be fair, an excellent all-in-one solution. However, the VI simply wasn't near the standard set by the Alpha and Bravo although, of course, the latter is at a significant premium.
    Bearing in mind that I have the original Alpha yoke version (non-Xbox) it still impresses me just how HC got these units down to the price they did - frankly both are worth a lot more. Recent price reductions that I have seen (e.g.Alpha yoke at PC world for £149.99 at time of writing) make the older Alpha yoke an absolute bargain.
    A word or two about the Bravo in particular: It has fully 6 levers/axis, so you need two Logitech's to match the Bravo in this regard. However. the movement and feel of the Bravo levers is far better (adjustable stiffness, etc). Bear in mind too that the Bravo comes not just with a fairly complete Auto pilot panel as you mention but also a switch panel (7 for the Bravo - not including 9 on the Alpha yoke) and an annunciator panel. In addition, it includes a gear lever with appropriate lights, a flaps lever, and of course as you also mention a pitch wheel (which I admit is ok but not so good as it could be - small criticism). Also included is a very nice set of GA levers and another set of commercial jet levers.
    comparable
    I should add your point about needing rudder pedals is absolutely correct - I.e. there is some difficulty in using the HC Alpha and Bravo without them. With the TB V1 it was relatively easy to assign a couple of buttons to rudder and brake control but not so easy with the HC kit. Personally await the release of the HC Charlie rudder pedals, in the meantime I I have been using a set of rudder pedals from Thrustmaster which I think I only paid £90 for at the time and, to be honest, have been really solid all round very good pedals (on a budget I'd absolutely recommend these too)
    Lastly, I'd like to say I think the fit and finish of the Honeycomb kit is, for the price, stunning and I have found nothing on the market in this price range that comes close - yep I'm another big fan of these products....well you did ask!! 🙂

    I've had the original Alpha yoke for over a year, and it is leaps and bounds above the CH yoke it replaced. My yoke doesn't have the spring-loaded starter, and that's the only negative I can come up with. (MooseP)

    Hello!
    Hope all are doing well, but I have a question for Xbox users.
    Would it be possible to connect the TCA thrustmaster throttle quadrants by any chance?
    It’s just currently I have no proper funds to buy the whole honeycomb setup and I wished to be able to link it with the side stick thrustmaster setup I already have.
    If anyone knows, or if anyone uses a similar setup with the Xbox hub please let me know.
    Thanks!

    hello I have a VERY important question to ask. I just ordered online via amazon the joke and the quadrant from honeycomb... the bravo quadrant & the alpha yoke.. NOW it's for xbox and someone just told em that it's mandatory to have the honeycomb HUB also to have the quadrant working...... I have ordered just the quadrant and yoke, not the Hub.... so can you please tell me if the HUB is MANDATORY to have it both work on Xbox? I am getting worried now and can't see on any on your video where you speak about it.. THANK you and looking for your answer

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes you absolutely require the HUB to get the Yoke and Throttle working on Xbox - I did mention this in my original review video for the XPC yoke.

    I do not like the yoke (or any spring loaded yoke) because there is NO feed back. You cannot feel the aircraft and end up trimming via the trim wheel which wrong and harder than the real aircraft. 😮 On the real thing you feel the load being removed from the yoke it’s quick and easy. Has anyone tried any of the feed back (and expensive) yokes?

      As much as I would love to own a Force Feedback Yoke, there is sadly a tremendous price gap between something like a Honeycomb/V1 and a Yoke with Force Feedback ($1000+).
