I have a bravo and 3080 on order. I should be up and running by fall of 2022.
Ah ah ah feel the same....
Exact same here
bravo on pre order, 3080 I will order later
3080.. Big ooff
I got the week one order and is using it right now!
The levers on the base are actually there to lift and break the seal of the suction pad if you're not using the clamps. Great first look tho! I'm so stoked I actually managed to order one!
You're absolutely right, don't use the levers for anything else other than to release it from the sticky Scotch M3 surface.
I didn’t know that! That’s a huge saver because that pad is SO sticky!
It's hard not to want this, even if I know I'd do it no justice as I'm such a rookie pilot, it's a work of art.
completely same here, such an awesome piece of kit.
Same, will wait though so firstly I have money to spend on such an investment and they are more available
If you're having fun, you are doing it justice. I'm a Sim Racer and I thought the same after I bought a Direct Drive wheel, but I was grinning like an idiot every time I used it. Now at times when I pull off the best lap, or rally stage time I laugh my head off promoting quizzical glances from my GF and endless mocking.
@@Bob-Jenkins How do those direct drive wheels feel? Do they feel realistic?
Re. Speed brake lever!
Armed is for landing and auto speed brake, flight detent for use in flight, up is when on the ground and uses ground spoilers!
Looks great!!
The speedbrake lever feels a little counterintuitive if you first use it on an airliner, because "down" is the normal flight position, which is all the way forward.
@@Stoney3K It sounds intuitive to me: everything forward = go, everything aft = slow down/stop/reverse
@@shangqijian6655 If you compare it to the flaps it kind of looks weird, because the flap 'up' position is all the way forward. But once you have everything set up, it kind of feels the way it should, because it means 'levers forward = go', 'levers backward = slow down' for all of the levers.
@@Stoney3K Fly a warrior, the flaps up postion on the lever is down!
"hey siri, can you, die?"
"i cannot"
is this the next terminator film?
To be fair, Squirrel couldn't do a worse job than Hollywood did with Dark Fate...
LOL! Yeah, Apple-branded terminators, extinguishing all competing life forms =)
you have to take out my batteries
@@Marvelous0419 Hah, no.. just leave it Turned on for 5 minuts, it will run out of battery in almost 3 min...
I thought my HOTAS joystick was a beast!
No comparison to the Alpha Yoke.
which one you got?
lol😅
For arcade stuff maybe
Vs Virpil?
The way he lifts the yoke up from the handle is giving me chills
What time is he doing this
Lol at 0:52
Why? Won't harm a thing... It can handle yer meat beaters twisting it around, it can handle being lifted by the yoke. I own that yoke and it's a whole different ballgame then cheap junk like the Saitek
@@hook86 idk man, these things are precision instruments. I don't feel like the shaft and the mechanism that holds it/takes the position and rotation readings are designed to hold the weight of the entire back section. I won't be surprised if taking a wrong turn while you hold it like that will result in the mechanism breaking or bending in such a way that the readings become inaccurate
@@joostvisser8537 yea id agree with you as well
I am so jealous! I have had my Alpha for less than a week and I am amazed!!!! It makes hand flying for me so much easier than my old Saitek.
LOL @ Siri interrupting you.
Cannot do a formal review until November 1 - proceeds to basically do a review. Hehehe... In all seriousness, it looks like a very well thoughtout throttle quadrant. I love the ability to configure the way you want (only thing missing are push/pull TPM).
He didn't do a review or else he would have brought up that the lights don't work on it.
Really pleased to see the unboxing vids finally starting to come out for the throttle. I’ve had one on order since Dec 2018, think I pre ordered it day one when it came onto the Aerosoft website. Was lucky enough to use a alpha build of the throttle at Cosford last year and I can state it was one of the best home throttle setups I’ve ever used, and that trim wheel was actually the best home sim trim wheel I had ever used. Even though it wasn’t connected at all to the yoke, it actually fooled my brain into thinking the pressure was being released from the yoke as I turned it. It truly did feel real and a fully connected flight control system.
Hopefully they have managed to keep that feeling into the production model. The only slight issue was the levers moved horizontally when you had hold of them and felt a little cheap, however they did state at the time, they were aware and was gonna try and improve the feel. Fingers crossed they have managed that, and I’ll be intrested to see what turns up in the reviews.
However don’t get me wrong, that’s not a complaint. This was still hands down the best throttle quadrant i have ever used in decades of home simming. I really am looking forward to adding it to my cockpit in the hopefully near future
Squirrel’s “Hey Siri,” activated mine lol!
Thank you for actually measuring the throttle! The dimensions are not even listed on Honeycomb's own website! SUPER HELPFUL
Loving my honeycomb yoke. Can't wait to get my hands on this down the road!!
This is one of your best reviews yet. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt professional but relaxed and even humorous at times. Well edited also. Great stuff!
Wonderful video - just received Bravo and had a couple of little issues that you have completely resolved! Thank you!
My friend is super into planes, so when he came over for the first time I show it to him, and im like “pull it off” and he’s like, “I don’t wanna break it” And im like “just pull it off” so he does. THE WAY HIS FACE LIT UP WHEN HE FOUND OUT THEY WERE INTERCHANGEABLE-
Please be kind to the trim wheel. My heart is hurting to see you rested the whole unit on it. Lol..
Mg i just want to trun that trim wheel and mess with the gear lever
I'll have to add this to my dream on list.
same :(
Me too!! :-) :-)
Wow! Such a cool video - makes me wanna get back into sim flying properly! Thanks for the vid!
*I think I have to have that :) Best Thing is the Trim-wheel, thanks Squirrl*
Thanks for the unboxing, Squirrel! My throttle is supposed to be delivered the 47th week of the year, so mid November. I can’t wait!
Very professional unboxing video Squirrel! Looking forward to the review video!
Great video! Can't wait to see the hands-on review. This looks like a real game changer! (No pun intended.) Having that configurability in one piece of hardware is fantastic!
I already have the Honeycomb yoke and this will definitely be a purchase for me soon!! From the C172 to the Baron to the A320 and B748, this should give a realistic "feel" to them all - and should be fairly easy to set up and save each configuration profile in the sim. I might stick with my Logitech quadrant for single engine GA flights, but the Bravo will be my go-to for everything else.
Great Video ! Look forward to the 1st November review ! The Yoke and Throttle quadrant visually are stunning ! Another Level ! So Cool 😎 ! Happy Landings 👍🙏🏻❤️
Not going to lie, that last time I watched a video from this channel was in about 2012-2013 when it was still named DaSquirrelNuts. Nice to see you're doing better than ever Squirrel, keep it up!
This thing is incredible. Looking forward to seeing some usage videos!
Can't wait, I have had this on order for months. Only a couple of weeks :)
Mine was in the week 2 or 3 batch, so it shouldn't be too very much longer now. Really looking forward to it, especially after this vid!
Same here Bill. I am in the week 2 batch. Can't wait to get this!
That thing is massive. 😳 Back in the day of Falcon 3.0, friend got a Thrust Master stick and crafted a regular joystick for a throttle (he later got a real throttle handle). They were heavy, cool things. This is whole another level. Damn nice. 😎
This looks really sweet. I'll probably never get to own one, but looking forward to your review.
Can’t wait for November 1st for the review, I should get mine in 3 weeks or so !
Been looking at this product off and on on Amazon for the last couple weeks as I'm looking for a good replacement for the Saitek system. Looks like it has alot of potential given the range of customisable parts. Can't wait to see your review of it!
Love the Siri piece. Glad you left that in - it gave me a good chuckle. :)
I really enjoy my pair; will be nice to see Charlie rudder pedals; I also like that you can mount Logitech Pro Flight Panels and/or Logitech Pro Flight Instrument Panels/gauges too! Fly high Squirrel!
Hi there, I’ve listen to countless of your videos and I’ve never seen you before until I watch this video today. Thank you so much for all that you do for people like me who can’t figure out how to do anything. I can solve the Rubiks cube, I can’t fly my flight simulator! Thank you so much.
Just to clarify: The tabs he is talking about on the base plate at 20:35 is NOT to give it a “rake”. YOU WILL RUIN YOUR BASE PLATE. I cannot emphasize this enough. DO NOT USE THE TABS ON THE BASE PLATE FOR LIFTING THE UNIT AT ALL, YOU WILL BREAK IT. They are used for lifting the suction pad off the table a little so you can get the base plate off the table more easily.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have been looking for the dimensions of these two units to determine what stand I should order when I place my order for these two units. Most helpful.
Really looking forward to your operational review of this throttle quadrant.
I've ordered both this and the yoke 2 days ago! I'm so excited! Flight simulator 2020 has cost me so much... I started PPL lessons beginning of October too!
were did you bought the throttle
@@jorgeangulo9100 ordered on Amazon, says it will be December when I receive it though
@Jonathan Mal. yes is amazing I already have the yoke
how long isit gona take to arrive like 2021
@@SwiftLikesGames throttle is estimated December 6th and yoke is mid November. But there is a chance I guess
Love this setup, thanks for showing!
Where is the update, Squirrel? Where did you go!?
Not sure if you knew this, but the AT disconnect and TOGA button, as well as the thrust reverser are actually functional in game. There are metal contacts on the stick that get the input
This must enhance the experience so much. I'm a big fan.
Most thorough and professional reviewer.Loved the review Sir.Keep up the good work.👍👍👏👏
Green with envy! Thanks. We're expecting delivery in New Zealand toward the end of Nov.
You lucky dog you. I've been waiting for this one for what seems like years. Amazing.
Great video squirrel really enjoyed it. Also really enjoy the merch I brought from your store
Ah, I am happy for you, you lucky sod! Mine arrives early December. Cannot wait.
Got the yoke, waiting until I get the quadrant to use it. Can't wait. Immersion here I come!
Mine is due 12th November . Cant wait to use it . Great video .
Great unboxing! My only request is that when you do the actual review and hands-on, if you can show your flight and the quadrant in a picture-in-a-picture format. That way, we can see what your are doing with the controls as the flight course/altitude/reversers/etc happens.
Ah! So that's what you look like! not at all what I imagined from watching your flight sim videos! :-) :Great vid as usual. I don't think my level of usage of Flight Sim warrents me getting such a set up but having watched this the Christmas wish list is being re written !
The large pad on the bottom of the mounting plate is not an adhesive material, it is a micro suction cup material, so it is not for permanent mounting. Those two levers at the back of the mounting plate are there to assist breaking the suction from your desk surface when you want to take the mounting plate off.
One of the greatest pieces of hardware I’ve ever owned. This is fulfilling when teaching your 11 year old daughter
I love that the slots for the levers have covers... My CH quadrant fills up with dust while I'm not using it, where this one - pull the levers off for storage and stick the covers on.
Bravo to you Squirrel for the new Honeycomb. :P
I hope you can lock the leavers together. Looks ace though. Very impressed with my Bravo yoke.
Nice video and nice throttle quadrant as well, these days you can get an entire airplane cockpit on your desk with all switches and displays, very costly though
Awesome unboxing ! ...thanks
Luved the Siri interuption....lol
Wouldn't mind seeing a video of your studio too ..looks "wow" ,very pristine lol
My Siri went off at the same time and paused the video, I got so confused until I saw Squirrels then go off too!
Can't wait to see it in action!
Crikey - this is going to need a tutorial video to set it all up...Hopefully one will be forthcoming!!.. Great vid
Thanks - this video helped me re-pack the Bravo to send it back.
Having watched him for a few months this guy does not look how I expected! 😂
I just loved that Siri moment lol :)
That's some amazing review. I particularly liked the part about Logitech/Saitek peripherals like the radio box lining up on top of the Honeycomb, I hadn't heard that before.
So I just preordered it from Amazon and I'm also waiting for Ryzen 5600X and Honeycomb Alpha to become available and also 3060 RTX to get released hoping it'll be close to MSRP.
My estimate is that I'll be playing by 2022 or so, but that's fine. By that time Asobo will have fixed most of the countless MSFS bugs.
I've been waiting for this video. They say "patience is a virtue". I've never had any, lol. So I sold my Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and bought the Thrustmaster Warthog setup. Don't get me wrong I'm totally happy with the Warthog but that Throttle Quadrant would be amazing! Happy flying everyone! : )
Wow! Both together look fantastic. I'm Dreaming now.
quality video. pre-ordered and drooling!
1:05 _"...there's an embargo date of 1st November for press reviews..."_ 5:52 _"...that's really cool!"_ - that there *_is a review!_*
You can tell he’s never flown a jet engine aircraft before, it’s cute ahaha, love this channel
Ace review i really want both of these ✈
The button on the GA throttle is most likely a “go around” button that you click to tell the autopilot and GPS to start the missed approach. (Note, not the same as TOGA, the auto throttle mode for max thrust since auto-throttles are very rare in piston driven airplanes.)
its to disable the autothrottle on AIrbus
I really do enjoy your videos, Mister.
Here's another Flight simulator enthusiast since Its 98' version.
Thanks.
Thanks for activating all my devices...😂😂😂 that was funny.
20:30 Actually that's the release for the sticky suction cup at the bottom.
I've not watched a Squirrel video for a while, so I was unaware of the sexy wee rig you have there. Very nice.👍🙃
Now that you own both the throttle and the yoke you really need to film yourself using them in all of your upcoming MS FS 2020 videos. I´m sure a lot of people would like to see these in action. :D
Rub it in Squirell and all you other UA-cam streamer simmer extraordinaires! :)The date for my Bravo throttle quadrant keeps getting pushed back by Amazon. Just when I get my hopes up it's push back a few weeks. It currently sits at a release mid December. I look forward to hearing your review you lucky sod!
OMG I'm getting mine today can't wait
2:46 my Siri came on the same time. Heresy I tell ya. Witchcraft
V
Mine too
Toga button on the throttle can also be used on the TBM to move to the right side of the "H"
Is there a way to attach the Honeycomb set up to the wheel stand pro?
Please make a video of how the device works with MSFS 2020.
That's apparently part of the embargo per another unboxing video, so that'll presumably be talked about in the review on the 1st.
@@DaWolf805 i like how theres a review embargo and he pretty much did like half the review anyway
amazing reviews squirrel
Hope you keeping well can you send me the link where you show how to set up the switches on the bravo to your own desire
6:30 that button is the go around button on some of the twin engine planes
Suggestion - new video review of your entire sim setup - impressive background to the Honey Bravo setup !
YOU LITERALLY HAVE EVERY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT FOR EVERY SIMULATOR
Love my Alpha, got my Bravo ordered and paid for, but I won't get it til around Thanksgiving, can't wait
How do you mount to a Steel Panel Cut Out , there is no screw on the side to the throttle
The tabs at the back of the base mount is to help remove the base from the table if you use the sticky bottom. That sticky bottom is reusable if you keep it clean (so they say).
N
Didn't mean for it to be a jab you or anything... just trying to inform.
When the throttle quadrants are fully forward how do you get to the switches..... Cannot wait for the answer in November.
That was the first question I wondered as well when I first discovered this new throttle quadrant. It's quite unbelievable when I see how well thought out this product is from top to bottom. How could they miss this important part. It really appears to be almost impossible to use the buttons when the levers are fully forward. Or at least it will definitely be awkward to reach them then.
And given that, imo, these buttons are ideal to map all lights with, it seems really unhandy. You will operate some light switches while some levers will be fully forward but this setup seems to make this impossible.
@@Michael.Blackwood True that. But the light switches are given on the alpha yoke base so I guess they designed it for the honeycomb family.
I am curious about that too Cloud Chaser. I should be finding out for myself sometime in December (I am in the "week 2" group 😊)
I have been researching like crazy and I really wanted to go with the Thrustmaster Boeing, but after doing more researcher on the HoneyComb, I think this is the better choice. Only thing I think is missing is the AP knob selector.
Ok that's what happens when you comment without watching the whole video.
Very nice setup indeed, shame it wouldn't do me justice though in DCS. One thing I have noticed with this Honeycomb setup is that the quality is nice, but in some areas I feel like it falls short, like the throttle levers and trim wheel.
I say, your voice is so smooth...Subscribed!
When is the full review coming? I need something to hold me over until the newly revised ship date!
Of course Paul gets it early... now I wish I go it early and got to review it and probably keep it
That is a thing of beauty, They are seriously changing the flight sim world with the Alpha/Bravo/Charlie
Charlie?
@@mateoreyes7415 phonetic alphabet alpha bravo, Charlie delta =a b c d
Think the next purchase has to be the whole honeycomb set.
Looks really nice.
