Now this is very interesting, as I am thinking about constructing a port-a -pack with a tiny rig.

Hello! I thought I’d come to your newest video in the hope that you’re still reading the comments. Been watching your videos for a few hours, but gtg out now. I wondered if you can suggest/have any videos on UK legal handheld CB radios? (Or links) I’d love to get a couple 1, for fun and 2, for if times really do get bad. I hope you don’t mind me asking, and would like to wish you & subscribers a very happy Christmas.

From the day I got one of these it seemed like it needed to be charged before every use. I'm wondering if there is a problem causing the battery to discharge while not in use.
I removed the old battery which looked a little swollen and replaced it with a similar one salvaged from an old bluetooth device. Will see if the problem persists.

My tester is showing some of my capacitors to be resistors instead of capacitors. Does that mean that the capacitor is broken?

Do you need to recalibrate it every time you turn the battery off and back on again?

Hi Paul I was thinking about buying the component tester, do you recommend it ? Thanks.

Yes but watch where you buy it from, check feedback and ratings, as with all Chinese products some are better than others.

How do you increase the accuracy of these? Compared to my multimeter it shows capacitor at 454uf where mm is 477uf. The supplied 3 pin calibration doesn't help either. Thanks

The frequency of the tester also effects the measured readings.
This is why professional LCR meters allow you to change the frequency of the test signal.
ESR is frequency dependant, capacity somewhat less so as the tester applies a voltage through a resistor and measures how long it takes the cap to charge/ discharge. It measures resistors the opposite way.

Late reply but maybe it helps someone: The supplied 3 pin thingy for calibration apparently has too much capacitance. Use short pieces of wire instead. Apparently accuracy also increases the more times you calibrate it, say 10 or 20 times.

Very cool. I own one of these and it’s an amazing little device for the price. I bought and sent back a DCA75. It was great, but I don’t need all the advanced features. The TC1 is just fine. I bought a second after beating my first up pretty good haha. The second one I bought seems to have a much better battery. I’m not sure if they upgraded it a bit? Seems like it. But your video is really cool. I’d love to throw a lithium from one of my vaps in there. I may be a bit daft, but how do I get your files you graciously share?

Besides this it also helps to add a switch to disconnect the battery when you don't need the device since it always draws power even with the display turned off.

TC1 has USB power charging so why not just plug in a power bank?.

There are some copies of it out there, this has worked solidly in a professional daily environment very well, it was just the battery life was too short, it works amazingly well.
