This year, instead of finishing with Riverfire, Brisfest 2023 STARTED with it. And not only did we have the usual fireworks and flyovers, but for the first time ever, we had a drone show - Nieergoo: Spirit of the Whale - based on local indigenous legend. While I'd love to say I got epic footage of the whole event, this was a day full of fails and mistakes for me! Watch to find out why...

Oh yes! Please post the drone show, it looks amazing. I think that would actually get me to try Riverfire again...maybe from a rented room lol.

I have been waiting for your video. What settings did you use on the Insta?
Mostly let it just do its thing. 25fps, -0.5EV. And I got lazy and didn't upscale some of it to 4K before adding it to this video, so the quality is even worse than the usual pretty bad quality for the Insta360 stuff.

What is Wararr Meanjin?
Not sure about the Wararr part, but Meanjin is the original indigenous name for Brisbane.
Mate i caught it from the Top of B Ridge with the Community as a lazy alternative you can see Riverfire but i think i needed my Zoom lens camera cause the Photos on the Mobile phone didnt do it justice. i did see Riverfire 2022 from Streets Beach the Rocky area and its the place to be but clustophobic to get move around and hellish to get back once the fireworks end not really my kinda tea for every year.
Yeah, it gets pretty packed. I used to watch it from a hill when I lived in Annerley, but I had no idea you could see it from so far away!
@@BrisbaneChannel i know not as spectacular but the crowd at the B ridge was entertained. Actually next time im going to view it from Bartleys hill lookout Rob did a video about this place.
