@@sfbatraveler TOGA or FLEX thrust setting has nothing to do with pitch. We follow SRS orders on take off either way. Of course TOGA usually mean a more aggressive pitch as engines are at a higher thrust setting, but there is not such thing as « b pitched » and « b flat »

@@sfbatraveler at 1:54 in this video you can hear the pilots go FLEX/MCT detent then CLB THR on the thrust levers. Sometimes the buzz sound is cancelled even on FLEX settings. It depends on a lot of variables which the FADEC takes into account. Again, TOGA thrust is 100% of available power from the engines in the current atmospheric conditions, the N1 speed which makes the buzz sound varies depending on atmospheric conditions even if two planes use TOGA thrust at take off. Both this video and the video you posted are TOGA thrust.

@@sfbatraveler Yes, on the A330-300. This is an A330-200, which uses less powerful engines, so the the roar of the engine is B-flat at TO/GA.

@@sfbatraveler It's definitely TOGA. Because of FAA overrun and steep climbout requirements, the TORA on rwy 09 is 1000 ft shorter than rwy 27. Bigger aircraft like the a330 need TOGA thrust to take off in this direction, especially when heavy.

Runway 9 takeoffs are about as rare as a four leaf clover!

Tbh idk, for the last 2 months (at the time I live in 2023) they been using runway 9 frequently

Early 2023 was abnormally rainy/windy for about 4 months. Makes sense that runway 9 was used more often than 27. I remember that time, was wild.

The turnaround towards the west used to be almost immediate but this has changed quite a bit. It goes far in now before turning back towards the west now.
