- Honda Jon bringing your this video showing the correct way to adjust the hood on your car. This method will let you fine-tune the gap either front to back or side to side. Take caution while doing this since you don’t wanna make it worse and chip the paint if you loosen the hinges too much. Just loosen them a little bit to allow you to move the hood slightly. Small corrections here is key. Thanks

Just Saturday evening, before heading into work. I opened my hood, to check my oil. And when I closed. I noticed that the hood was out of alignment. This video confirms, it's not just my vehicle! Thanks Jon!!
👊🏼
You would think by 2020 they would have bought these gaps closer so they are in Sync I lucked out with the hybrid what you are explaining is truly the only way for correct alignment Great well explained video as always Jon Take care
I agree. It shows how fast these cars are assembled. Take care man.
Absolutely Can you believe I finally found a company That does rim blackouts on the stock OEM 2020 17inch hybrid all sub models Trying to get done ASAP for winter protection You hit a small branch or a pothole but the branches can kick up and scratch the rim So far they are still perfect Most overlays are for the sport Should I go black or white on my wheels though white can be a challenge showing dirt more I value your advice my friend Take care
You think on the assembly line these cars would get kicked back from Quality control due to excessive gaps
From what I know they do have pin alignment tools to help Tesla is notorious for very bad panel gaps but with a little work and attention to upper and lower panel alignment can be well resolved on the side always start at front hinge adjustments can be challenging but can be reached to align rear sides of vehicles if front sides are off back panels also will be so it’s imperative to get front side panels perfect first Though generally at shows gaps are not measured but eyed for correct upper and lower correct figment It’s not hard to take some time to correct these gaps for a cleaner looking body shell
But I like gaps 😏
Thanks for the tip. I think my hood is fine but now that I know how to adjust it I might just end up doing it for no reason. 😁
Lol. 👍🏻
Nice man! Have you seen the 11thgen civic. Looks🔥! I may get it just as the prototype looks but in Si trim. I just hope the interior on the 11thgen civic looks good
I saw that. Looks awesome. Can’t wait to
See it in person.
Before you move anything, take a sharpie and mark the original location of the hinge so you have a point of reference.
Great tip. 👍🏻
You mean... Magic Marker? Sharpies are permanent.
I do notice on Accords the front fender gaps are slightly off and noticeable especially at top coming towards side of window
I’ve noticed that too. I will say the gaps aren’t the best on this generation but overall a great car.
Absolutely Agree my friend Take care
You too man. Stay safe.
even mine has the same issue with the gaps , alignment with those hoods are not that great with Honda accords ...
Yeah I’ve noticed it a lot more now. I guess it is a machine made vehicle
Hello, do you know about the air conditioning problems in the 2018 accords? My car has 28,000 miles, it has been in the garage for at least 4 months. Every week I try to turn it on to check it and one day I detected that the AC was only blowing hot air and the freon levels were low. Does any one know about this issue?
It should be under warranty still isn’t it ? It definitely shouldn’t be leaking out.
My 2018 has a low hissing noise when the A/c is on and i have the radio off.,...i can also hear it when i turn on the heat and set it to auto with the thermostat....you can hear that same hissing noise. Is this a freon leak? No other car i’ve ever had has had this noise.
@@scottcolumbo4379 My 2019 Insight EX has a problem when I run the A/C it spits water from the vents! Haven't taken in to the dealership yet because of the Communist Chinese Party (CCP) Virus/Pandemic. My dealership isn't allowing anyone to wait in their waiting room and I don't have a way home if I bring it in so I'm waiting until I can. Honda's aren't the quality they once were. My father-in-law is still driving his 15 year old Accord LX with no issues.
@@HondaJon Thanks for answer my question. This was the first channel that I start following when I bought my 2018 Honda accord. I just ask the dealer and they said the AC isn't under warranty, but I'm not really sure if it's true... I will take a look to all the paperwork..... Thank you again.
That’s crazy. Everything is under the 3 year 36k bumper to
Bumper. Meaning it covers everything. Definitely push the issue
He said don’t do it by the first hinges but i didn’t watch this video and did it by the first hinges on my 2020 Honda Accord
Hey Jon. i have question is there way i can dm you on instagram or just ask here ?
No problem. Instagram is hondajon00 👍🏻

What about the trunk??
It also has little stoppers that can be adjusted as far as height goes. If you need to adjust it side to side you have to loosen the two bolts on the trunk arm. If you do this it’s very small corrections
@@HondaJon thanks, my car got rear ended and now the trunk even after the fix has a slight gap that is pretty noticeable
Sorry to hear that. You can fine tune it but make small corrections until you get it where you want.
@@eduardofindlay4518The entire trunk metal sheet probably tweaked a bit
It's a shame what's happened to Honda quality. You spend $30,000.00 on a new Honda Accord 2.0 and you have to adjust the hood, it should have failed QA inspection and realigned in the factory. I drive a 2019 Honda Insight EX hybrid and my wife drives a 2017 Honda CR-V LX and both of them have fit and finish problems. Prior to buying my Insight I drove a beautiful 2015 Honda Civic EX-L and it was a gorgeous sports car with no known issues but my new Insight isn't the same story. The problem with Honda is called "Made in America", Honda's made in Japan are so much better!
I agree with that. You’d be hard pressed to find an issue on the earlier generations. Now you don’t want to look to hard because of what you’ll find
