I felt so nostalgic while playing New Dawn.. I loved the way Hope County looked in Far Cry 5 and watching how everything was destroyed was so sad..

Really, so sad, so nostalgic. When I was looking for the places where the photos were taken, I was so sad at heart when I looked at the photo where the places were back when Hope County looked like in far cry 5 and sad to see what the places now look like in far cry new dawn
They certainly tweaked the map a lot more than it seems when you’re playing the game. This is an awesome video, thanks for taking the time to make it.

New Dawn cemented Joseph Seed as my favourite Far Cry villain. The validity of his foresight was such an intriguing twist in FC5, and to see how that shaped him afterwards (and the reappearance of your character from FC5 as loyal to him in ND) is just great. I'm glad they decided to follow up on that.
Yea although that’s also a dark plot point since he tortured rook in there for most likely many many years so that’s depressing lol

Seems like new dawn is worth the play through? I own it but haven’t played it yet. I played through fc5 and absolutely loved the story. And hope county really has a way of making you feel in the game.
You must've not played Far cry 3 then.
The antagonists of 5 are alright, but they all just go on and on every single time you encounter them about religious mumbo jumbo etc. In general, there is too much dialogue from both protagonists and antagonists, a fraction of which is interesting and worth sitting through.
Best games in my eyes
#1 Far Cry 3 (best story, atmosphere, gameplay)
#2 Far Cry 4 (better gameplay, mid story)
#3 Far Cry Primal (Good all round)
#4 Far Cry 5 (Meh story, great gameplay)
#5 Far Cry New Dawn (Mid story, same gameplay essentially)
#6 Far Cry 6 (braindead Ai, good story, little overbloated, good gameplay)

This is one a my favorite things done to a sequel, the reminiscent factor. They did an excellent job showing how those places aged and changed in 17 years. Shame we couldn’t get the whole map, but still, I loved what they did with FC5’s story. Now if we could just make sense of what is actually canon or not in the story…

Maybe because it's only accessible with mods. The bunker, despite being included in the map, it's located on high radiation zone area. If you get close without mods, you get thrown back away to the safe area
Which is your best location? I enjoyed John's Gate/Seed Bunker!
I did my best to sync the footage and gather ALL locations, took a very loooong time and many retries, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I love how it's been around 15 years since Far Cry 5 in New Dawn, and John's bunker is mostly untouched. All the Eden graffiti is still visible, and it doesn't look too different.

Ubi I think did such a poor job of showing how thoughtful they were with the setting of New Dawn - thanks for doing their job for them, I guess :)
And also, Ubisoft must learn about guns bc half of them are always mirrored

Awesome video, thanks so much for making it. The artists who designed New Dawn's look must feel pretty depressed every time (i.e. *all* the time) they hear, "It's just Far Cry 5 with a new skin..." Beautiful to see the decay and rebirth throughout New Dawn. Loved it. Cheers.

This to be is the best part of FCND, seeing all the places you remember, you enjoyed, seeing them 17 or so years later, changed, mostly abandoned, worse off. It's every explorer's dream.
New Dawn's atmosphere is as if you can see fragrance. the sweet smell in your eyes
Just got done playing 5: probably weird to say this, but in some weird dissociative way, I really like Hope County - the cult involvement aside, obviously - it had an idyllic quality to it. Like a beautiful oasis away from all of the chaos. I'm a city guy and not exactly a fan of wide-open spaces - but I could 100% live someplace like this. It was sad to get to the end of the game and see it all destroyed. Major props to the developers for such immersive world building.

Same!! I didnt know about New Dawn. Have heard of it but I didnt know it was a prequel. Also I love Hope County so much I wonder if Montana, USA really looked like that. I often imagine a Roleplay at one of those rusty houses where the view are the most beautiful and take a lot of photos
@@mencot89 Hope county is (very loosely) based on an area south of Missoula in the bitterroot valley. I can confirm first hand that the bitterroot valley in Montana does look a lot like the environment in this game. Farms in the bottom of the valley with foothills and mountains running up either side

I am extremely extremely addicted to these games I play them over and over again. Can’t get enough of them. So this video means a lot to me and it’s sad to see the world after the collapse yet it’s beautiful
replaying far cry 5 knowing how it ends is a pretty cool experience. they really do drop a lot of foreshadowing

Dude, this is such an awesome video, I'm playing new dawn right now, and shoot this is freaking cool, I loved 5 so much and was so happy when I realized new dawn is post-apocalypse.
I can't help but notice how healthier, more beautiful, more colourful is the nature in New Dawn is. It is really sad that people needed to disappear for it to heal.

Brilliant made video! It´s amazing how many details are similar but look so aged in New Dawn - it´s made perfectly! Far Cry 5 was epic but New Dawn made it even more epic.

I think he used the Resistance Mod. It's a mod for Far Cry 5 that removes the doors of each bunker and closed zone, even out of the mission storylines

In Far cry 5 how did you get into the church at the compound
I was always confused by huge pine trees in ND that weren't there in FC5. A Ponderosa pine would grow 15-20 feet under ideal circumstances in 20 years. I know its mostly for gameplay reasons, but I noticed.
