    I wanted something light weight and capable of cutting. This little string trimmer is just that ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . The battery will last about half an hour. It cuts through most weeds and grass. I wanted to see what this trimmer could do and tried cutting down some brush. It does okay with light brush but heavy brush, not so much. This is a great tool for trimming around the yard. It's not great for clearing out brush but no one would expect it to be.Out of the box, this trimmer is extremely easy to use. All I had to do was attach the guard and load the battery.

    Thanks for the video. No start condition, emptied old gas, and low and behold, the filter was broken off of the decayed fuel line. This was such a direct how-to video, I made quick work of the repair and I'm back in business. Again, thank you.

    Your instructions were much more helpful than the written ones in the repair kit. Unfortunately none available locally, I paid $10 from online Amazon retailer. Got the new bulb, fuel lines installed and it runs GREAT!

    Thanks a bunch for this video! Same thing as everyone else, fuel filter line broke off on the inside of the tank. The repair kit from Home Depot is now going for about $10.45 but it’s a quick fix. Your vid made it easy! I got the in-line and the drain-line backwards but other than that, my repair was done in about half hour total.

    Thank you so much! I was able to fix my dads weed eater. The tubes are definitely hard to work with.

    I just fixed up the exact same trimmer. Owner complained it was hard to start and ran poorly when it did. Dumped the fuel that was in the tank into a glass jar, it was very dark from age and after it settled for a few minutes you could see about about a tablespoon amount of water at the bottom of the jar. That gas that is sold at the pumps these days has ethanol, which absorbs water out of the air. STA-BIL DOES NOT remove ethanol from gas. If you let this gas sit in your small engines for a month it's makes the engine run like crap! Buy the ethanol free gas sold at the stores and your engine will start and run SO much better.

    I had a problem starting and keeping it running, watched the video and checked my fuel filter and it was kinda upside down in the tank wedged in there not at the bottom. I readjusted it and took some carb cleaner and just tipped it on its side and sprayed away while holding the throttle open and watch all kinds of brown come out. Now it starts and runs fine

    I just bought one. I put the the supplied oil and some gas in it, trimmed for an hour or so. I came back the next day and it had seized up. Maybe a defective one. Or maybe Ryobi ought to stick to electric products. I've never had a problem with Ryobi stuff until buying this gas trimmer.

      If you had just bought it, you shoul would have simply returned it or exchanged it for another one under the standard warranty. In the age of cheap electronics and machinery outsourced overseas for cheap labor costs, you should expect that the suppliers receive about 1 out of 10 defective items before they ship them out to the retail stores. I work in IT and have deployed VOIP phones of a certain brand that are made in China. We constantly got about that same ratio of defective phones that had to be RMAd, so the rule of thumb was to always order a few extra just in case. No, you are not buying in bulk, but the retail store is, and they are responsible.

    My weed eater would not start, changed the spark plug, still would not start. The on and off button is supposed to stay in the run position, mine had stuck in the off position. Took awhile to figure that one out. Used some WD 40 took care of that.

      While this is one of the most common problems, it is not the only one. Others can include the carb, spark plug or engine itself. Thanks for watching!

      Air bubble is probably ok as long as it runs fine. You will know quickly if this repair went well or not.

    I just bought one, I have an s430 which hasn't had any problems.
    anyway, new c430 wouldn't start.. was sitting in the shed for a few years, so I replaced the carb, lines, plugs, pick up, and the thing starts and runs fine but when you go to throttle you have to gradually throttle or else it would cut out... is there any adjustment for that?

    • @LegendMuscle
      @LegendMuscle 6 років тому +1

      I would imagine the carb has a scew where I can lean it out if I wanted to? smokes alittle bit too, am thinking the guy might've put some 2 stroke in or something.

    • @thebeardad4151
      @thebeardad4151  3 роки тому

      Did you replace the fuel lines themselves? They often get small cracks and pinholes that allow air in but don't always present an obvious leak. Try replacing the fuel lines and maybe primer bulb as well.

    I've tried carb cleaner in the carb, in the head, lighter fluid, gas, nothing. Has spark, good one at that, but just won't fire. Not a fan of Ryobi at this point.

    • @thebeardad4151
      @thebeardad4151  4 роки тому +1

      Well it is not going to run off of carb cleaner or lighter fluid. Does it try to start at all? If is starts just for a second then it is likely a corroded line or primer bulb. As soon as it fires it starts pulling fuel in but if there is an air leak it will never run. Have you tried replacing all the rubber parts like this video shows?

    so why wouldn't it start?

    • @thebeardad4151
      @thebeardad4151  5 років тому +3

      Basically the fuel lines get old and brittle and form cracks. When you prime the engine you get some fuel in there but after you start it and that fuel burns off, it does not have enough suction to pull from the tank, instead it pulls in air from the cracks in the lines. This is why it may start but die a few seconds later.

    Sorry to say, I didn´t understand a thing. You speak too fast, too low (like mumbling) and it´s difficult to see what you´re doing since your hands cover your hands and in some instances they are out of the range of the picture.
