- On October 7th, Hamas terrorists stormed into the home of Hadar and Itay Berdichevsky in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, one of the Israeli communities along the Gaza border. Hadar and Itay- both 30 years old-were butchered in their own home.
Miraculously, their 10-month-old twins survived. The babies were found-rescued by the IDF-14 hours later, crying in their cots. Their parents’ bodies lie in pools of blood around them.
Maya and Dvir also survived the massacre on Kfar Aza that day. They hid in their safe room for more than 24 hours with their own baby boy-holding their hands over his mouth to keep him quiet-as they heard the terrible sounds of their neighborhood being turned into a slaughterhouse around them.

As a long time supporter of the public broadcasters I was shocked to find that only right wing news outlets have been reporting interviews with returned hostages. When I saw the four corner episodes about the West Bank I took them as honest reporting. I now know that settlers would likely have tried to explain the complicated zoning issues and that, for many of them, building is about bearing witness to the digging of tunnels so that a midnight raid on tel aviv becomes more difficult. I’m so sorry that I had such a distorted view of this conflict. Ironically, were it not for Hamas live streaming how they treated those young women they brought into Gaza I probably would have believed the shameful leftist influencers who claimed there was ‘no evidence of rape’ after they literally watched footage that is indicative of intention of sexual slavery as well as recent violent rape. Media in Australia has a lot of making up to do here.
Sadly some will deny it all, say it is propaganda and only what Hamas say is true.

Dear little boy, the parents are so right our babies pick up on much more than we realise. There senses are intact and they instinctively know when their parents are not ok. Us parents know that if we are having a bad day, our babies pick up on that and their behaviour changes. My first son was also a very bad sleeper and also had colic and would scream for three or so hours every night from about 5-8 pm, he was always restless and he was also wanting to wiggle around and get into everything, I can not imagine what these parents went through trying to reassure and keep that little one entertained and settled for 30 hours, under such harsh conditions. My heart goes out to these people. I can not imagine the terror they went through. Absolutely horrible that these communities have experienced this. The trauma is almost impossible to heal from, survivors guilt which is such a horrible emotion, so much happened on that day, so much loss and so much grief. Not only are they having to get over the incident, but the loss of so many people close to them, their homes, belongings, their community is now tainted and how can you ever return with those horrible reminders around you everyday as well as the constant thought of this happening again, you would never be able to relax again. So so horrible. I truly hope this beautiful family can move forward together as a team, and their lives prosper and flourish in the future. ❤ sending this family my thoughts and prayers. I have watched everyday to see how the Israelis are getting in and the horrors I had seen have shocked me to the core and I live on the other side of the world and do not know any of these people, but as a human being to see so much suffering has broken my heart. Steel cars melted and bodies inside charred, clearly Apache hellfire missiles.
Israeli ground forces killed 3 shirtless soldiers waving a white flag and yelling in Hebrew, saved none.
I admire their ability to be so vulnerable and so frank without breaking down and crying - it must be incredibly difficult. I hope they can continue to inspire others and hope they have success in rebuilding their lives.🙏

Thank you for this testimony. If they cooperated and abandoned their anger, the Gazans would have a beautiful life with Israel at its side. Economic and educational growth would make Gaza an attractive place for all. Why are the Muslims in Gaza so mad and enraged? How can anyone live with such negativity? I am so proud of Israel and her resilient people, her people’s creativity, and her people’s love of life❤
They are mad because they have no rights. They have cant even collect rain water. They have a wall that is bigger than the Berlin Wall. Check points that last for days....not hours. The median age in Gaza is 18. Just off the top of my head. The oppressed are always going to fight back one day. Nobody is saying what happened on Oct 7 was right! Those poor people. I understand the reason for not having a lock on the inside of the Safe room, however it could have helped, also to have provisions, eg water, food, vitamins. They would never have imagined that horrifying ordeal could happen and how incredible they survived with their baby.

And Israeli Intelligence was not only warned but had a report which was an exact blueprint of the Hamas attack down to the taking of hostages. I don't know if it's me, but i just finds it really "disturbing" that his wife is having a smile on her face and laughing throughout the whole interview about the most horrific massacre that apparently didn't happen to her little son or her husband personally.
I sit miles away in another country away from them and i still feel broken to pieces and in emotional pain anytime i watch and hear any survival stories 😢 from the October 7th massacre by Hamas terrorists.
And here she sits down just laughing throughout the whole interview. If I was watching this interview without an audio on, just by looking at her face i do think she was narrating their "love story and honeymoon".
People are weird these days, no emotions, no Empathy for others except when the evil happens to them "personally", then they will show themselves empathy and laughing will disappear from their faces during such interview.
Alot of people laugh and smile to hide they're scary emotions....
What’s weird is your lack of knowledge about grief and trauma and how the brain copes. Of course she’s in shock & you’re not- she’s the one who loved this, and she’s likely been in fight or flight mode ever since.
Don’t compare your emotions as someone completely unaffected to someone who was affected.
