But marines clear the way for the rangers
@@nicholasbradley5010 LOL, the only reason the Navy lets Marines on the ship, is because they need dance partners....
Nicholas Bradley oh you tool
Nicholas Bradley Wow this comment shows how little you know about the military. The Rangers are part of SOCOM where the marines are a whole sub branch with less specific missions and more large scale operations. What would be fair is to compare The MARSOC Raiders to the Rangers.

It’s cool to see former Rangers just chillin and talking about their first days in the regiment.
After airborne school I stepped forward to volunteer for Ranger. I was asked my mos and was told it was not combat mos. I had no idea. I was crushed. I then got excited to be in an airborne unit. Nope. Spent 4 years as a 5 jump chump. I worked weekly with Rangers who were in Somalia. Phipps and Floyd. I was so envious. One of the 3rd Bat XO liked me and tried to get me a spot in RIP. No luck.
That's too bad, but sometimes that's the hand you're dealt :/
@Yeasty G lmao
should of gone 11B.
my recruiter was a ranger and he told me all how to become one. He was the one who sold me on 11B when I joined the NG and then asked to go to ranger school.
from then on I continued to ask my recruiter questions and advice on how to go through everything.
funny thing my recruiter was a pretty slim small dude he did not look at all like these guys.
He did ended up telling me several stories and how he lost several people one I remembered is he ran over an IED but the guys who came after him were killed by it.

Who remembers the big ass specialist in rip who was tasked to do carpentry work for the Ranger memorial at the rip barracks? Early 2002 era
When I was a private my squad leader would always call me during the weekends @ like 2 in the morning to pick him and his boys up from Tacoma or Seattle after a night of some serious drinking. There was a hot dog stand at one specific bar they always went to and I remember they would throw their half eaten hot dogs at my car when I would pull up LOL. All that changed when I got my tab. I got out in 2018 and if you didnt have your tab then you were still kinda treated like shit or were considered a half ass
The more I hear about Rangers, the more it seems like they are the only Special Operations who are not treated like adults. =/ I am prior service, and going back in. Looking at Rangers or SF, but I feel like Rangers lives are no different than my life was in the 82nd. I 100% understand that they are MUCH BETTER at their jobs than we were, but their everyday life seems like it's still full of the childish bs games... where SF treats you like an actual adult.
SF is probably the most mature in the whole sof community
Rangers are more Specialized infantry.. Whilst ..On paper being SOF, they're more like normal conventional infantry, on 500 pounds of cocain, steroids, crystal meth, and rip it. Whilst also being the most extreme and intense soldiers.... Amazing.
Rangers are the only SOF element with entry level privates that go on raids before they know anything about the army. This creates a trial by fire culture and the reason they get treated like shit.
You guys are all good at your jobs.

Is there a company within certain battalions that are more special? As in more serious and conduct special missions
Yeah fr, I want to be the best of the best but are rangers the best of the best?
There were Sniper Platoons in HHC at one time, not sure what they do now. MTOE has changed a bit over the years.
Ranger Regiment doesn't really talk or write books, so best way to find out is to join them.
All Rangers do special missions, but there is a special unit within the Regiment, which is the Regimental Reconnaissance Company, which is part of the Special Troops Battalion. You have to either have served with the 75th Regiment, or have graduated Ranger School; and if you're coming from the regular Army you have to also attend RASP 1 if you're E-4 to E-5, or RASP 2 for E-6 to E-7. In either case you have to be at least a Specialist in rank (they want E-4 to E-7), and be either an 11B or an 11C if from the regular Army, or one of the two or a 13 F, 25B/U/S, or 68W if you're in the Regiment or another Special Operations unit. You must have been in a leadership role i.e a team leader in a squad, for at least a year, and have a GT score of 110 or more (waiverable down to 107). You have to attend a month long selection course, and only 1 in 4 or less end up being selected. You then undergo a 42 week training course.

There’s no worries though, Mike glover is a former Green beret and when he was a ranger he didn’t drink at all and he did get shit for it. He was simply focused and wanted to become SF. And he ended becoming a highly successful SF soldier. Just search him up and I suggest you to watch him on “Shawn Ryan’s” podcast. You’ll learn a lot from that.
