I was an air marshal for 21 years so we changed time zones like most people changed panties…. It took some time to adjust to regular time and nice to be human again. Glad you are adjusting to retirement.
I work dayshift on Friday and Saturday and nights on Sunday and Monday. People that have never worked shufts like this just dont know. Somedays I would have to say to my wife sorry I'm going to be cranky today. Looking forward to getting a little normal and getting my weekends back. Retiring on November 1
About 20 years. I've worked at Ford Kentucky truck plant for 30 years. I didn't want to switch shifts because I had a good job and would have to go to available work if I switched. Didn't sound appealing, Lol
Shift work takes a toll, I’m still early in my career- 6 years in. Waking up during the night while on days is the worst! Countless times I’ve woken up at midnight, check the clock and thought I overslept till noon! Glad to see your transition going well, not enough info on shift workers on UA-cam. What industry were you in?
Wow! You nailed it! I had the same experience. However it really wasn’t an issue in my younger working days but got more difficult as I got older. I worked in an oil refinery. Perhaps I’ll make a video specifically about shift work.

I did the same thing 23 years at SDI 7 to 7 retired at 57 took about 6 months to get back to normal. So hard to sleep during the day on shift work..
I just found your channel Jim and subscribed. I'm looking at retirement next July at 61.
