@@ianworley7384 I am majoring in film production and animation. And I can assure you, the movies I make will make kids feel sad. And my films will be powerful!
This scene is relatable. I lost both my brothers two years ago. One in May and the other in December two days after Christmas. The feeling of anger and confusion that Kenai and Denahi felt is exactly what grieving a sibling loss is like
I haven't seen the 2nd movie, but honestly I prefer this. It's more real in its own way, and I actually do mean real. While Frozen is just a fairytale.
I'm a Mexican Guatamalan child we have mayan and oaxcan in our blood how many of my ancestors have shed tears for their dead loved ones I wonder how it mustve felt
@@dapperwolf465 yeah I realised close things, but in my opinion brother bear has more deep meaning, beautiful visual and wise guidance and this soundtrack
This entire soundtrack from this movie is gorgeous and breathtaking. The vibe from this music is incredible and it was such a great touch. Like seriously this movie is so underrated
I have always loved a type of airy music because it tends to have a spiritual feeling to it. One of my favorite symphonic pieces is The Pavan for a Dead Princess by Murice Ravel.
This song has haunted my head when I heard that my granddad died from brain cancer and since I've heard of his passing even though I nearly knew him when I was a young boy, since then I had this song played in my head as to remember him
One of the most impactful and powerful scenes of any movie. The silence, the way Kenai walks towards the camera after making his choice, the way the music beat fits to the image shown... Masterpiece
I wish I had an older brother like Sitka. Compassionate, wise, and always there for you. Definitely one of my favorite Disney characters of all time ❤️ 🦅
As Hmong people, we are shaman and shaman people still practice these kinds of customs of releasing the spirit at peace during funeral ceremonies. It's a mournful moment everyone's Aurora is deeply saddened of losing Love ones. Funeral drums and wind instruments are played.
Same here this movie always stayed close to my heart as a kid. Even now as an adult. My brother died 2 months ago and I decided to rewatch Brother Bear today, and I cried so much at this scene. The emotion the creators captured is so real
First we lose Sitka in the movie, then we lose Denahi’s voice actor. That’s gotta be painful for Kenai. I know it’ll never happen, but it would be nice if Disney made a short movie/tribute with Kenai in his bear form on top of the mountain hanging out with an eagle and a wolf (Sitka’s totem was the eagle of guidance, and his spirit became an eagle when he died as shown later in the movie. Since Denahi’s totem was the wolf of wisdom, it would make sense for his spirit to become a wolf). During this, Koda and Nita would be in the background hanging out with their spirit mothers.
To me this is a true movie cartoon and the others that were made in the 90’s to early 2000’s. Now a days these new cartoons don’t start to beat these old ones makes want to go back in time and see it in theaters again and feel the drama, excitement, thrill, and adventures these shown.

I think i watched this for the first time when I was 5. The first movie to bless my ears with tribal music. As an adult I still LOVE tribal music and shamanic healing music
Growing up me and my sister were forbidden from watching this movie by our former super religious parents. They wouldn't let us read books or watch any TV shows or movies that weren't about the Bible or at least had a Christian theme to it. And they made it clear to our elementary school and even our friends parents (who were more open minded) that they did not give permission to do so. As we got older, me and my sister eventually said 'screw this' and started watching Brother Bear and other 'forbidden' movies behind our parents backs. Eventually we got caught because my mom caught me reading a Harry Potter book (which was a big no no) for a school book report. It led to a massive fight between our parents trying to enforce their authority and me and my sister standing up for ourselves. With enough persistence our parents eventually backed off and let us watch and read whatever we wanted as long as it was age appropriate. They didn't approve but they knew it was pointless to stop us. Now I can't get enough of music from around the world. Hearing music and changing from all different kinds of backgrounds and ethnic groups never cease to amaze me.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl Ahhhh geez I'm really sorry you went through that. Your parents love you and just wanted to protect your young mind! But sometimes people take it to far. I had this reflection towards this scene from Brother Bear: - As a child, watching this song along with the background song amazes you and nothing else. - But as an adult, looking back at this scene one more time hits you very deep. Especially when it reminds you of how you lost a beloved family member.
This movie is so powerful. In his anger and pain of losing someone he loved, Kenai took away Kodas greatest source of love. ( This is important as Love was his totem)
Kenai: Oh no Nita and Koda! Nita: what is it my love? Koda: Yeah what is it my older brother? Kenai: There’s a human! Me: Oh hello Kenai, Koda, and Nita it’s me Elizabeth G I’m a big fan of brother bear and brother bear 2 Nita: Do you want to be with us? Me: Well I am all alone after all (The Great Spirits Appear) Koda: Can the spirits can turn you into a bear Elizabeth? Me: Yes I can I will do that (The great spirits turn me into a bear permanently so I can live with Kenai, Koda, and Nita) Kenai: Elizabeth? Me: how do I look? Nita: Like a bear! Koda: And since you’re a bear now you can live with us and live with the salmon run with all of us do you want to? Me: Yes and all of you guys can teach me how to be a bear. Kenai: So let’s go there (Me Kenai, Koda, and Nita go to the salmon run)
Kenai: You ready? Denahi: For what? Kenai: For going after the bear. Denahi: I know what you're feeling, but killing that bear is wrong. Kenai: Wrong? Our brother is dead and it's because of that monster. Denahi: I don't blame the bear, Kenai. Killing the bear won't make you a man. Kenai: Thanks for your wisdom.
