One of my elevators where I live has a slammer, and I swear the elevator is so broken, it either, skips a floor, gets stuck, hits the shaft wall, slams itself shut and breaks, or it’s the magnets making the elevator skip a floor. Basically, each floor has 5 magnets, and if one fails. It will skip a floor. Also, the door closes way too slow. I actually got stuck in it. Sadly I can’t put it on yt because I didn’t have my camera.
Well on my old building we had 3 elevator that did the same as you said but a bit more dangerouse everyday the elevator free fall from 1 floor and stop and sometime when its at the floor 0 its free fall and reach the end of the shaft and open the door well there is a trick that make elevator manuel after that the elevator free falled from 1 floor you should press the button of the floor you wanted to go until you reach the floor (when you reach the floor you need to click on the open door button) and right now i got back to my old building (i moved out) and guess what? The elevator were sooooo messed up they litteraly removed the elevator and people got really mad (because my building got 15 floor and its really high) the steps you need to go up to the floor 15 is i think 300 or maybe more
People always say that the slamming of the doors adds a nice vibe to an elevator but I disagree because if this sort of thing is happening constantly when the elevator is bussy this can actually add a high risk of breaking the elevator door

The *“SHAFT WALL HITTERS”* have door clutch problems , the clutch is meant to hold the door from hitting the side of the shaft which can damage the sensors.
My friends apartment lift is a Shaft wall hitter and a slammer BUT worse... it opens SO FREAKING FAST it once bent the door sometimes it will shake the entire lift oh and also the motor is very loud
I remember Harris Scarfe car park in Adelaide years ago, two of old elevator were strange. Door open too fast but door close a lot slower. No wonder they had poor maintenance for door back then. It was fine going up and down nothing rough, just the door issue problem.
I don't live in the USA but I do recall as a young lad seeing some squeaky elevator doors at a store called Marks & Spencer in me British hometown... :3
if you think thats bad try ussr elevators, the doors capable of crushing and ripping you apart and if not properly maintained slamming like derailing train.
