Seems like just yesterday we were sitting on my friends front porch right after I got their first album and played them for my friend and he was like "damn these guys are pissed!" Can't believe that was 25 years ago.. Time really does fly! 🤯
They don't seem to be pissed enough these days
@@Gary-nr4bpThat seems like just not really listening to the music. Which is a lot of ppl's deal with bands they decide they dont like anymore: they stop listening (maybe bc of a bad record, personnel change, or just a slight departure musically) and then confidently say "they never made anything good again" or in metal "they never made heavy music again" and its usually always wrong to some level.
@@mediumvillain This exact thing happened with bands like Asking Alexandria and even BMTH to an extent. I still love the old stuff and respect they are doing what they want to do, but at the same time I can't stand their new music lol
@@mediumvillain i hate when people make it into an argument about subjectivity and not about factual aspects like tonality. The songs are muddy. The muddy sound is unpleasant and doesn't really drive any aspect of the art. It just sounds bad. Not intentionally bad. Just bad.
@@RWM0 I mean some bands do change pretty substantially, like full genre shifts. I havent really listened to BMtH since Suicide Season and even that was a bit of a genre shift from their first record.
Slipknot has pretty much always been a meeting point between heavy metal, alt rock & extreme metal elements. They've also sort of grown, changed & progressed as a band and that's not to everyones tastes but its not inconsistent with what they were doing 20 years ago. I guess they dabble a little more in melodic alt rock stuff but its usually just a song here or there and its right alongside stuff that includes grindcore drumming, caveman nu metal and death metal riffing. Their last record even had a pretty good track with scream rapping, but some ppl are hung up on songs having 'too many' melodic clean vocal & goth/alt rock sections. To me it's still just good metal songwriting & instrumental performances and I dont need a bunch of 50+ year old men to remake Iowa.
Sometimes bands change their sound dramatically (I was just listening to Genghis Tron's Dream Weapon which is a pretty radical departure from their earlier records that had a lot of cybergrind and light/heavy dynamics) and sometimes they progress more slowly but fans just grow out of it at some point. I think a lot of ppl conflate those things, like: I'm not really into it anymore (which is fine) so its the BAND that changed, and that's not always the case.
I am more excited for what Sid comes up with rather than Clown or Corey, as I think what Sid does is cool with taking store purchased things and modifying them to make em unique
Plus he isn't an egotistical douche
I'm calling it now: Sid's just going to use his BCD
the seed is listening is a poem that corey wrote and was on the original 1999 website
I pulled up my old fan site from then since I had it there too. It's exact, even the layout and formatting. I had it listed as "Corey's Rant", not poem though. Also the "last updated" was a thing from back then. The future date however I can't argue there may be something there
I knew it felt really familiar when I was reading across it. Brought back some really odd memories.
RIP Joey, the greatest drummer of our time, next to Vinny and Taylor.
I'd add Neil in there too. Not a metal drummer. But, a virtruoso for sure
@@davidjones8299 And Keith Moon 👍👍👍
Jon Karel deserves a shout too. He's very underrated
Don’t forget the rev
Only dead guys are great?
Gonna be honest. Slipknot hasn’t rustled my jimmies since Iowa.
Nothing they do can bring that feeling and energy back 🤷🏻♂️
Can't you say that about 99 percent of bands tho? They're older material is best and it just keeps going down hill from there
Eloy's double bassing is so distinct that we'll know for sure it's him if anyone gets footage of him drumming at the show
Na primeira tricotada de sextina, kkkk. Tô falando, é o Eloy mesmo, tem jeito.
@@gabrielrobertocaixeta9427 que? 🤷🏼♂️
It's him for sure lol
My bets:
-Eloy as drummer
-4/25 being a single, “old demos and b-sides” style 25th Anniversary bundle, or LOYW
-“the seed” is clowns reference for the start of what we’ll come to know as “new slipknot”
Also yeah, as another dude said- the guys usually get molds of their face done to create the head model to form the new mask around; better fitting the face. Early stages.
Totally agree. Slipknot is a project and not about single band members. The music has to be good and the last albums were fking incredible.
Slipknot is Headlining at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento CA on Friday October 11th. I have my passes for the Festival can't wait!
This is awesome cool reaction man love all the Slipknot news can't wait to see what they do 🤘🤘🤘
good stuff y’all MUCH LOVE ty RF
Slipknot just announced they're headlining rocklahoma again this year
Vince Neil heading slipnot.. you heard it here first
Nirvana didn't even called him for the 25th anniversary despite he is the actual goat of singers.
Rudy Sarzo on bass
Man I actually got to see Slipknot in the Las Vegas house of blues. Definitely a show for the ages. All original members on that tiny stage was insane. It was right before the Subliminal Verses album dropped. Incredible getting to see them play songs off the album that we had never heard yet
I do hope in someway we get they’re first album in like a super deluxe edition with all the bonus tracks & frail limbs I hope 🤞🏽
@rockfeed keep us updated on Slipknot cuz they keep teasing more stuff like a new billboard for a secret small show
I just saw a billboard outside of the Coachella area that said “one night only” “long may we die” with the website listed and nothing more.
Im looking forward to hearing the debut album in full! We get to hear "tattered and torn" "frail limb nursery" and "purity" in full like it was meant to be played. We also have "Diluted" pretty sweet!
Not with this line-up. Its not gonna sound like it was meant to..
Maybe I'll finally get to hear that track that my dad had on his iTunes, but I could never find. The song was called slipknot, and just started of with sounds of welding in the background, with someone hitting something in the distance...and also the version of Gently that was not the same as what's on the current album.
@@woofspider330 Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat is the album fyi
Always on *the back of the bug* close as you can get with "teases" or "real f'n news" THANKS ROCKFEED!!!
I don’t know what they’re gonna do but if it has anything to do slipknot, I am excited😊
Same
The Seed is an old poem by Corey from 2000
yes, but since they have posted LYRICS as part of teasing NEW songs, it's likely they have made music and that poem IS the new song.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Man it’s going to
Be interesting to see if they end bring the original percussion from 1999-2000 just to see how they both have weathered over time especially because they have displayed for most of the time in the museum.
I need some more US dates. They’re
Playing Kentucky in September and aftershock in October. Gotta be some more dates between that 🤞🏻
Ladies and gentleman step right up, it’s the Corey and clown show…!!!
Pretty much…
Jim, Mick, and Sid is still there. Be thankful for that.
for real
Bwahahahaha! ....not really.
Mick is the quiet achiever and dare I say curator of culture for this band. Clown does sweet FA on the music side, he's like the head of Administration. Corey is Corey, it's his job to sing his arse off & he does. Jim & Mick are the guys, & I still think all of them are a gang mentality & no one truly dominates.
@@sammitchell3657 For now...
I found Slipknot through Circus and Hit Parader magazines. I ended up buying the self titled album and got hooked into their music. Last album I bought was Subliminal Verses
In 2000 I seen Slipknot at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach South Carolina
If any of the guitarists leave. I won’t listen to them as much. Those guys got me into guitar
And Sid. I can’t imagine Slipknot without him
@@TheRealEricMitchell he pretty much made the band somewhat different. you know?
I’m ready for slipknot to come to Baton Rouge Louisiana
Sounds like a new single and these lyrics are sick! Back to a Self Titled inspired sound?? Rap?! I’m in.
Yes, they are doing Sonic Temple, and I'll be there!
Yesss More Slipknot! 🖤
I really hope they do another Canadian tour or North American they did in 2022 but I’ve never seen them once yet cuz my parents wouldn’t take me to concerts in highschool and now I’ve been going to a lot of shows I wanna see and their #1 on my list
I remember going to the original Slipknot website. Was proper mysterious
Hello Rock Feed you should do an interview with Tommy Vext hes a very talented guy been doing great solo song singer thank you love your podcast
I'm sure it's been said already, but that video from Clown and picture of Corey are from the process of them getting lifecasts done. A lifecast is a 1:1 copy of your head, neck and shoulders. They have to make the lifecast mold in silicone, then they typically do fiberglass backed with foam. It makes it much easier to sculpt a mask that will fit the exact dimensions of someones head.
still been waiting on that un-released album they've been talking about to come out that could buy them time to do some more new songs.
I saw em in 2003/4ish? Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines 🤘🏻 2200 capacity. It was sold out and amazing
I wish they would do a jam session. Not an album, per se, but just like a 5 hour long album, possibly multiple discs, or more of practice sessions. Let us hear what we don’t get to like ever hear? And I don’t doubt that they would even be able to resurrect Joey by doing so.
9 members and 30 years, they've had turnover since the earliest days. The great thing is they had a REALLY good group for a hot minute and gave us the angst, joy and entertainment we craved way back then. Sadly all great things can't last forever, and hope the next chapter carries on their legacy. People may not agree, but I would love to see Griffin and Simon step up when their dads retire and continue the Slipknot legacy for another 30 years. Now THAT would be something that cements their legacy as one of THE all time great bands, regardless of genre. Would love for my kid to get the same feeling as I did 25 years ago with the same band.
Shout out Jay…fantastic drummer.
More importantly! Is that a Red Fang shirt? If so, it's awesome!
I absolutely love the band and their music but I just wish they kept their members
Feed the seed. 4/25. Sounds like a new single. We shall see!!
In something that's been an entity as long as Slipknot has, it's much more than just a band and even the music. They're a brand...a business in itself and, like pretty much every business that stands the test of time, there's gonna be turnover. Unfortunately so when it's a member who is liked as much as say... Joey, Jay, heck, anyone. Because I'm pretty certain each member has their own super fans and it's hard to see them move on, let go or whatever and seemingly start anew elsewhere or not ever play again in some instances. It's hard for us fans but I'm sure it's hard and scary at times for them too. Sry, just thoughts that were floating around in my head. Hope all's well with you guys and you're enjoying your lives to the fullest! ~ Scott 🤘🏼💙
“Membership changes” 😂 we all slip up but that was ironic!!
Knotfest Brazil 2024 is going to be crazy
Hi I have experience making masks and have actually reproduced a couple slipknot mask and In my opinion they both look to be life casts this is when a mold of the wearer's head is taken which is then used to create a hard plaster bust on which to sculpt the masks although I will say clowns make me think it my be a completed mold of a mask like you mentioned.
I've seen the first album in full. Their Sydney, Australia show at Hordern Pavillion in 1999 was all the OG suits n masks & that full album. They also all went to a tiny record store after the show and hung out with fans signing shit . It was mad, & would never happen these days. I still have my ticket stub & signed poster with all OG members to this day. I love them. But I saw that album played back in the day & it Fukn ruled.
no diluted or tattered and torn though 👀
Regardless of what the date can mean, it can only mean something good. A new band photo with Eloy (fingers crossed)? A new single? Look Outside Your Window? A US tour announcement? Who knows? I can't wait.
can't wait to see them live this year!!!!
Did you say the site was last updated on 4-25-24 lol?
Yup
They're Headlining Rocklahoma again the end of Aug!
look outside your window is supposed to be released this year, I know they say that almost every year but looking forward to that if its true
4/25 my bdaaayyy see you at SICK NEW WORLD 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
This year is also the 20th anniversary of Volume 3 The Subliminal Verses
I cannot stand to hear more about this circus of a band. Was a Diehard fan in the late 90s early 00’s and this isn’t what they brought to the table back then. They have become what they hated
Exactly.
When those dollars come pouring in, it changes people.
Yup.
SLIPKNOT LLC The Business.
I used to love these guys. Gray chapter was the last good album imo. After Joey & Paul, I just wasn’t feeling it.
Then why do you keep clicking on Videos about the band?
Not really guys, I doubt money is a thing that's a good or bad factor in the band too cause like....they have money 🤷♂️ They are one of the few metal bands too who still put out Fukn heavy as fuck music that's still like their early stuff, & they are headliners now one of the very few big proper crowd pulling headliners & for a band as heavy & abrasive as the 'Knot is quits an achievement. They Fukn rule.
They've announced that Knotfest 2025 is a 25th anniversary gig for Knotfest Australia!
I’m here early for once!
No idea what they are up to. With Corey on a break I can't see a tour being announced yet.
I think that they pretty much confirmed Eloy as the new drummer, with that game Skin DLC, the "Doctor" skin to be more precise, the skin is Bald and strong (gym strong) as Eloy, only a few drummers hits the gym
Don't forget they have a new Sampler guy and He has got the same mask like "The Doctor" and Zac Bird is kinda strong too
With nine members...small shows are limited to what places have a stage big enough to handle that much gear! Having worked with bands that only had three members & had to turn down location offers because they couldn't fit their gear on the stages...Don't expect REALLY small shows!!! Also..You can't update a webpage in the future!LOL That just doesn't work! I think they will call it quits soon! there will be like one or two more albums, but beyond that... No! The new masks...They will be pretty crazy!&... Mick & Jim...they will hold to their keeping their most iconic looks around!Don't see those two changing up the masks any time soon!(Kinda hope I'm wrong on that one honestly,as it would be cool if they did!) Expect a LOT of reissues mainly!
The website is a replication of their original website made & maintained by Craig Jones for many years. Also included the “sic pic of the week”
2024 is already good! A7X Tour Part 3 kicked off, KoRn tour, Possible new Linkin Park singer, Slipknot new secret brewing
As a fan from 99’, I would love to see them do a small venue, minimal theatrics - just pure raw energy. Face to face with the fans.
As much as I love Slipknot, they have really distanced themselves by playing huge stages with huge gaps between the crowd and stage (like all bands these days, I get it). Would be really nostalgic and im sure OG fans can agree. 🤞
We need them to be Ozzfest 2nd stage again, as opposed to mainstage. Those were the days...
Yeah when most Slipknot shows are in auditoriums with SEATING, you gotta think that maybe at this point everyone has missed the plot
I can only imagine Slipknot playing a show with seating in 1999. They would have found parts of the chairs in space somewhere after the show
@@neilpatrickhairless if I remember correctly, that is exactly what happened when they first came to Sydney Australia for self titled .. things were broken lol
I wonder why they don't have a US tour? Unless their getting the baddest lineup together as far as opening bands but, it's weird they have a European tour and not a US. And if there's a chance to see them in a small venue would be wicked. I missed all of those in my area cause I didn't kno
How was the site updated in the future?
Is Corey well enough to return hope he’s ok man 🤘🤘
I got to be honest I think Craig was one of the only ones that truly had integrity I think he just saw what they were becoming I think he was just getting up there in age and he was just sick of the b******* so he stepped away with dignity.
I need to just arbitrarily fire Jay and act like it's some sort of artistic decision because his drumming that wouldn't fit their new direction, give me a f****** break.
I truly hate saying this because they're part of the soundtrack of my growing up but they become a mindless machine that's just trudging along until they run out of gas.
I can’t wait, if it is a new song, also ordered my tickets for Slipknot’s anniversary tour in Amsterdam it’ll be my second time seeing them live!🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻
By now, Slipknot is the musical equivalent to Game of Thrones. And we’re in the middle of season 7 (not 8 yet, mind you). Something dearly loved by many ridden to shreds by few because of greed and ego.
I literally google slipknot once having not listened to them since what, 2008? And now I'm getting the deep dives on what the fuck they're up to now. I don't have my hopes up
Has it been revealed who took over Craig’s spot?
Nope. Still unknown!
It’s def Zach Baird
@@russellmckenzie1596wasn’t it already said that it wasn’t him?
@@erikjonesboi4322 I forgot
Tortilla is a mallet percussionist, not sure if he does sampler stuff. Really, they don't even NEED "a Craig" because everyone in the band knows how to load a sample into a DAW or sampler
Corey brought back the dreads ❤❤
One thing tho eloy is confirmed he is NOT the drummer for slipknot he announced he was joining another band that WASNT slipknot earlier but i forgot the name of it
hope its the look outside your window ep
Site Last updated April 25!??
The video was uploaded 8 Days ago.. Today is April 14.. What the actual Fu**!!!!
Oooh a big blue blob and tan slop. Is that supposed to build anticipation? I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but the way they fire core and tenured members is lame and disheartening.
I think Eloy is going to bring back what original Slipkot was all about Joey hit hard and for as good as Jay was he didn't I think there we'll be a renewed power dynamic
I believe that Jay Weinberg was just a machine to help push the last 2 albums out faster so Slipknot got off of RoadRunner quicker. Now they want someone that has more groovy style in their drumming for a better fit to bring back their original sound. Jay was and still is a badass though!!
New álbum?😮
Can’t wait for sonic temple see them there
Maybe they'll do a holagram of joey for the drummer
If it's about money, it was a decision made without his knowledge... ie: a Corey/Clown board meeting where they crunched the numbers and saw they could bring someone in cheaper than what they're currently paying out.
Corporations do it all the time.
It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, if they can cut costs they will.
Makes sense especially after Fehn called them out with his lawsuit. They lost their way since Paul's passing. That was the shift from brotherhood to selling out. It's ALL about the money now.
I'm not disappointed in the membership changes, i'm disappointed in the communication style from a few ego maniacs in the group that really drag down the optics.
I'm going to be at Sick New World so hopefully they bring it with the new drummer otherwise i'm dunzo for good with them.
Yeah we're all upset of the constant lineup changes Obviously there's something going on within the group that these guys are either getting fired or quitting Or dying and I think it's fair that the members that had left should speak out and tell us what's going on.theres nothing in the contract saying that they can't spill the beans
I am a fan of Slipknot since 1999 and honestly I won't even start to try to make sense of any of that. it is whatever it is, I'll just wait for next official relevant information, live shows and new music. All else is just noise and speculation that I don't feel excited about right now.
From the day Paul died, the band structure and glue holding it together really started falling apart.
There is a reason for that. This was PAUL'S band
The only thing left that this “band” has for me is the prospect of seeing them perform their legendary S/T album live in its entirety. Aside from that…
This brings me back lol
Bands always have lineup changes 👍
And some are a revolving door
I really wish Slipknot would give a more clear description of why Jay was let go they owe a better explanation to us fans. If Eloy is the new Slipknot drummer that would be really cool he could fit right in
I saw Slipknot and Coal Chamber in 1999 in a cub that held 350 where Nirvana, Soundgarden and Melvins had played many times. It was the most insane shit I have ever seen in my life.
Hey Guys

Looks like they couldn’t replace you boss. Glad they come to there senses
