I’m not surprised that Kiss sold out but I will never pay to see an avatar show. I would much rather see a live tribute band play covers of Kiss’ music.
You're right on that one. At least we know it's live. What a way to ruin a legacy of a band. They should continue with the band they're still able bodied. Didn't need to completely retire. They can do three shows a year in this country and be just fine and have plenty of time off. The way I look at it is every other year or every year do one on the east coast do one on the west coast and do one in Middle america. Makes all the fans happy

Yeah I think I'm going to go start seeing Ace now when he hits the West coast. I'll check my bands in town app. He's the same age as those guys and at least he's still pushing forward and still playing live. Ace is going to get a lot more respect now for keeping live music going.

Kiss doesn't own their catalog, Universal does. Pophouse just acquired the band's artist shares of the masters and publishing.
True Gene and Paul are smart businessmen, but they don’t own their music publishing, they do not own their catalog.
I love Kiss! That being said, I stopped going to the shows many years ago. An avatar show is ridiculous!

I saw KISS 15 times in between the first time they played Indy and the Destroyer tour, anybody who grew up in the midwest then could have done that. Those guys worked their asses off, 4 encores was not uncommon and every time you saw them they added something new! As a fan you could tell they were putting money back into the show. You dont have to be as maniacally capitalistic as Gene but they have earned it. Give Ace and Peter a taste will ya!

I asked this question before: If KISS is using avatars to continue, who is going to write the new music that music fans are definitely going to expect from them? Even if the vaults containing unrecorded music is opened up, very soon the music will be exhausted. Then new music is expected.
Gene probably named the band because KISS is an acronym for Know I Sell Shit, met Gene once while I was doing production at venues, was excited to meet a childhood hero, 10 minutes in, I felt like I had been dragged to one of those timeshare hardsell weekend, from awe to blah in minutes.

I am only stating my opinion, but I just don't see the use of this, are we saying that KISS is a chapter in history in general? In music history um they get a page sure, but if you want to get down to it Alice Cooper persana is what you want not KISS. That is the BAND that gave birth to shock rock.
Before the hologram idea. I felt KISS was going to keep the band going through a Rock Star type of talent show for the next KISS generation.
That could still happen. Gene and Paul just wouldn't have any involvement. They sold KISS after all!

I've been a KISS fan since the 1970's and I think the whole avatar thing is stupid... that being said... nobody who lives on Earth 1 wants to see them up on stage anymore. They're old, Paul's voice is shot and they already held on past their prime and went out on a "meh" note. Avatars may be dumb but no less silly than the idea of them ever getting up on stage again at their age or using replacements.
I'd absolutely see it a first time, and whether I'd see it again would depend on how much it impressed me and on changes. One has to wonder how long a specific concert-like thing would run before it would be changed up. Will they treat changes like tours, given KISS always seriously revised their stage show with each tour? We'll see.
This is probably going to start becoming a lot more common with older bands.

Ace will big a huge part of this then. If memory serves right he still owned his likeness and Kiss licensed or paid him royalties on the makeup for Tommy to wear after the farewell tours. So unless something changed he has a part of it

Slipknot is on that path as well ,Clown did hint this some time ago,virtual sets , Slipknotverse , VR ... although they aim to keep the brand in house ..for now .
There are lots of tribute bands, including ones for KISS. This way the originals can be seen for future generations. This could also be something disabled preformers could have a career in a industry that has basically shut them out.

So like many others, being a fan since the 70’s, I’m actually neutral on this at this point depending on what they do with this. IF for instance say they provide rolling or different experiences over time and are able to provide themed shows based on eras/album blocks. With full albums song list from each album/block (or at the VERY least many deep cuts and not the essentially same ol’ stale set lists), this could be something fans may be able to have an appreciation for. Think first 3 albums, then 2nd 3 - all with different performance/era respective of each (costumes, stage, their changed larger than life personas….). A true “Elder” mini movie reenactment… non-makeup era…. I mean the geek side of me who bought magazines and comics back in the day just to see a pic or two of them, could somewhat appreciate this. However, if it ends up just being a set same 20 song set list all the time -> infinity - then yeah, this could get old and dull fast.

...one thing I would like to see KISS do..is to make a younger version of KISS from the 1977/78 era and to do an hour Love Gun concert, but of cause add way more spectacle to the show..instead of two stair ways add in four..ad more flames more lights..just a thought..I couldn't go see KISS live for the Love Gun tour I was in Australia..

This is exactly how Gene Simmons wanted Kiss to live on past the life of the actual band, and it makes sense, let their new tech hologram live on in place of the guys who have retired for real, and are eventually gonna die, but not this digital recreation, I'm not really a big Kiss fan, but to me this totally makes sense for a big worldwide, world famous, decades old band with a literal Army of die hard fans who want Kiss to live on forever, even if it seems odd, That's technology, That's progress, Star Trek had Holodecks, well this is the beginning of that.
This isn't "tech", all existing holograms are fake, just projections on transparent surfaces. Like Peppers Ghost and similar. Stonage "tech". Inclusion of todays AI is modern tech though

I was eight years old in 1978 when Kiss first kicked my ass and made me a hard rock fan. So I wish them a happy retirement, but this whole thing seems ridiculous.
As a Kiss fan who has seen them in concert. I am curious about the new AI show. But I will probably only go once. I don’t see it being anything more than a movie of a concert.

i was able to see them in 03 with Aerosmith, unfortunately Ace wasn't with them. Its the closest thing Ill get though, and it was awesome. I would never pay to see a computer play a track.

..KISS have put in millions for this avatar gig..so Im pretty confident that what we will see in 2027, will be something special from the band...I think it will be a mix up of a movie with a story line, and a lot of the KISS avatar performing, and you can be sure that all songs and vocals will be new recordings ..we will just have to wait and see..I just hope I'll be alive to see it..3 years can be a long time..but what ever there planning to do its going to big done in true KISS fashion, outrageously over the top and very fuckin loud...
