You should put another layer of insulation on top. Your hottub floor will start to tear over time on the beams. Those inflates really need a flat surface 😁
You should do a plastic liner in the hot tub area this way you keep the moisture trapped on top of a plastic liner instead of it seeping into the foam you put down and it will be much easier for the bilge pump to do its job.

When you want to use the tub you simplyremove the inner/smaller hatches, if you want to remove/service the tub then you remove the larger/outer hatches. Have you filled the aluminium hot box/hole with water to check for leaks?

Add gas struts to the hatches to assist in lifting. Also add latches to keep the hatches from bouncing when you are motoring and hit big waves or other boat's wakes.
Seing all the comments on the hot tub, perhaps a compromise would be to cut the hatches differently so that they follow the outline of the inner hot tub 'wall', that way it hides the gaps and makes it perfect for people to sit round. Just a thought 🤔
It would have been cool if you had used some electric linear actuators for the jacuzzi floor doors, maybe you could use some heavy duty door lift supports if you can't use the electric ones.
Be sure to brace the hot tub control unit so it doesn't topple over the first time you go through some big waves. I'll be surprised if the hot tub survives intact and usable for more than a few weeks but I hope it turns out well.

Hi thanks for the interesting programmes, as a good compromise for your jacuzzi, you could put a hydrolic lift under your jacuzzi, it then becomes a table as you said. It would be proud of the general deck height, which makes it a perfect sunbed, just saying...
Should put a rubber liner on the inside of the box so any over slosh doesn't find its way into the insulation and cause issues in the future. i think a roll of pond liner glued, or some other fastener, into the box and then the hot tub put inside it. with water there are always issues so even though its all aluminium i'd still think hard about some kind of liner to make cleanup easier, especially as you haven't said anything about watertight sealing on the hatches for rain, waves, beer spillage, etc .
You should make a trim piece that goes under the hatches on top of the lip. Something that’s still removable for service, but makes it look a little nicer
Boats coming along great Chris. Little different not seeing Oscar, glad you did the floor style cause you could also add gas struts which would make lifting hatch’s a one man job plus like that there’s no obstruction. Can’t wait to see the boat completed 🎉
You should have made the lid for the tub a removable platform that could go into the water and expand the boat. The other thing is what if a strong wind blows the door close on people that is hazardous.
since you used pvc for your electrical routes you can use string and a vacuum with a bag tied to one end make it easy to pull your wires without taking them apart
A spray bottle of water like you'd use for wet sanding is great for those little sawdust smolders, it puts them out and leaves the surrounding sawdust moist so it can't catch without leaving pools of water and unnecessarily wet mush
Maybe worth adding scuppers/ drains to the hatches as well as a seal to ensure it doesn't fill with water. I know you mentioned it will have a bilge pump in there but if that fails it wouldn't be too good for you.
I really get that part about the shop around 10:00 .... You think you wanna work outside till you dont. I've been using drift for almost three years now! I think it is a little over priced, but they are definitely better than most other air fresheners. After a month and I get a new one, I take the old one and throw it somewhere else and it still makes that smell good for a while after. I put one under the sink in my kitchen for example! Also in the three years of getting scent of the month, I've only gotten one that I didn't like the smell of.
You will want to be able to seal that hot tub so the water in it does not slosh around when driving the boat through chop. Personally I think a hot tub is a dumb idea as you have basically added a bunch of weight and a large plow to the front of the boat.
The tub looks the goods. Could you velcro a rubber/water proof skirt to the underside of the aluminium lip? To flow and splash water back into the tub.
@bisforbuild the hatches are cool, but it seems they will get in the way and may not open when the deck flexes. Another idea would be to use one of those aluminum retractable truck bed tonneau covers that you can walk on.
Ignoring the inflatable in a metal box part as there is enough comments on that, but what happens to the water that sloshes out of the hot tub when you are underway, the lid won’t keep it in, you will definitely need an automatic bilge pump in the inset metal box.
We had a bad experience with Bestway. The pump/heater failed at 11.5 months into the 12 month warranty. I live in Texas and honestly used it for 3 months. We then had to wait almost 4 months for a replacement. The replacement lasted 2 weeks. Luckily Costco let us return it.
Drill a small series of holes on the stringers and run small pvc pipes to the aft corner and install your bilge pump there. You need to design it drain to one direction.
You see what i don't entirely understand about this idea is that you already have a metal shell, you could possibly just build your own HotTub inside that shell or just drop in a fiberglass insert hottub. But the inflatable hotub idea kinda makes me worry for several different reasons. Plus the 110 control box would need a waterproof box if it is going to be down there where water can splash on top of it. Lol
I think you should add more foam inside the hot tub box. You only did the floor but the walls should be done too. I also think it would have been cool it you made it so the hatches could have been tucked into the open space under the floor.
I just keep coming back to the thought of, he could put recessed holes into the front floor and build a ping pong table that's foldable and storable with legs that fit into the recessed holes for extra activities LoL
was really hoping to see that hot tub bed get reinforced a bit before finishing it. done a lot of welding fab work in my life and can tell by looking at it that the front is going to cave inward quite a bit when you hit a wave hard as there is no horizontal bracing its all vertical and will bend out easily, not only that but the bottom is so warped and flimsy that your going to hear a ton of popping while driving as it flexes where its not welded to the frame and most likely its going to warp under the weight of the spa itself given how badly its flexing with just yourself standing on it then add the weight of the water to that and how many folks sit in it.

The tub looks the goods. Could you velcro a rubber/water proof skirt to the underside of the aluminium lip? To flow and splash water back into the tub.
“Show must go on” keep building boys!
Should have put a hinge in the center of that cover and some rollers so you could just accordion fold it and have it lay on the front of the deck.
Kyle did a great job. 👏
From a classic Riva to a homemade floating bathtub.
What you could do is use ropes that can attach an unattached from those and then you can pull on them from the center if one person needs to open it
@bisforbuild the hatches are cool, but it seems they will get in the way and may not open when the deck flexes.
He mentioned that in the video
You could finish insulating that pocket for the hot tub, and depending on how you are gonna use it, you could use it for cold storage for long trips
Mold will develop under the insulation for the hot tub from water infiltration!
Lol
"They could just walk off of the side of the boat but yeah... SAFETY FIRST >>nervous laughter
I think you should add more foam inside the hot tub box. You only did the floor but the walls should be done too. I also think it would have been cool it you made it so the hatches could have been tucked into the open space under the floor.
Chris, have you considered making POCKET DOORS for those hatch doors?? Would be a good way of storing those doors.
I just keep coming back to the thought of, he could put recessed holes into the front floor and build a ping pong table that's foldable and storable with legs that fit into the recessed holes for extra activities LoL
would be cool to have one big door and lays flat in front. maybe spot for tanning or a little driving range lol
lol my mans put $5,000 worth of aluminum to put a hot tub in a boat. than uses a harbor freight air mattress hot tub in it. Jokes
man hasn't even bothered listening to why he chose that kinda hot tub
@@rendaddy_ Dosent make it not dumb
This is the b is for build way my man
The hot tub def needs an upgrade. Although, it could help keep the boat afloat if things go south.....
Those inflatable hot tubs take almost 2 days to get to temp. Hope ya have a water heater on board to put already hot water into it.
Maybe put car hood struts on the hot tub covers
was really hoping to see that hot tub bed get reinforced a bit before finishing it. done a lot of welding fab work in my life and can tell by looking at it that the front is going to cave inward quite a bit when you hit a wave hard as there is no horizontal bracing its all vertical and will bend out easily, not only that but the bottom is so warped and flimsy that your going to hear a ton of popping while driving as it flexes where its not welded to the frame and most likely its going to warp under the weight of the spa itself given how badly its flexing with just yourself standing on it then add the weight of the water to that and how many folks sit in it.
