For a smooth finish when painting with a roller go back over with a brush immediately after rolling. Apply light pressure with just the tip of the bristles. This breaks the surface tension of the paint and let's it lay down.

There's a couple of things you can try to remove the discolouration on the wall panels. Firstly, any varnish or other coating will have to come off. Then, you could try an oxalic acid solution to remove the stains. You can buy ready-to-use products for use on wood. The other treatment that might work is a "mold and fungas" remover for wood. There may be a fungal element to that stain, although it's more likely to be organic matter suspended in the water that has been absorbed into the wood grain. Oxalic acid should shift that. Give it a go in an inconspicuous spot as a test. I've had good results with both treatments in the past. Hello from Scotland!

Very happy to see the Riva running again. Although I understand why the new boat will work better for your needs, the new boat will NEVER equal or even come close to matching the coolness, the looks, the historic significance of a marvelous old Riva. Rivas epitomize suaveness, elegance, cruising the Italian Riviera in style. Pontoon boats are clunky party barges, period. Great video.

My old boat was out on the mooring and I noticed the back end sitting kinda low, so I rowed out and realized it was taking on water pretty quick. I got the pump going and pumped it out and floated it but the engines were unfortunately submerged. Well, they worked a couple of days later, for a bout a week, then that boat was the most trouble I've ever seen. It essentially needed a full re-wire of the engine and body harnessses, computers, starters, alternators, etc.

I remember talking to someone with alot of experience on the water he said. What’s better than owning a boat is knowing someone with a boat or you’re better off renting one. It makes sense for my lifestyle and income.

please put a coat of poxy then double clear paint the table top and "spinal rest" areas. sanding down is easy, waiting for poxy to dry: A life time

Everything that's happened just goes to show that you can't keep a good (B is for) boat down. Can't believe it's been 5 years since you bought it. Time flies. I remember watching that episode when it came out

If you are looking to revamp the wood vaneer, there is a company called Belbien that manufactures a vinyl that looks and feels just like wood. Comes in numerous textures and finishes.

I prefer the B is for Boat on your channel. I’m from PNW and enjoy the Columbia and other rivers. So to me, I like that you share that beauty (especially the trip to the ocean regardless of the fires) with others. B is for Boat all day!

    "Is this boat safe?"
"Oh absolutely, I am quite sure it won't sink again!"
    "Again?"
All jokes aside, I am impressed you actually managed to get her back in the water. And by the looks of it you're well on track to have her in better condition than ever, possibly just a couple months down the road. It wasn't very "B is for Build" when it started, but it certainly is now!
