Enough with the B.s marine grade plywood deal, call it what it is and stop trying to ripe people off, it's just treated wood DUH, you call yourself a supervisor ??? get a real job.
My son and I were passing through Portland on hwy 5 on the 4th of July and I swear I saw this boat parked in the marina. Kinda cool because I liked this series.
5 years ago you got that . Wow time flys when your having fun . This means I’ve must of been watching for at least 7 years . God bless from Newcastle Australia
The original video on this boat build is how I came across your channel and I have been hooked since. I can’t wait to see the finished product on your pontoon boat. Keep doing great stuff!!!
B is for Bravo. Absolutely beautiful. And resilience man. It's everything. Just keep building. Also, paint em. Add some black into that front galley and you're home.
For a smooth finish when painting with a roller go back over with a brush immediately after rolling. Apply light pressure with just the tip of the bristles. This breaks the surface tension of the paint and let's it lay down.
quick tip from a fellow boat mangler... er builder. if you cant find small odd bits of marine ply you can use plastic cutting boards from walmart. they come in a variety of thicknesses and are absolutely waterproof. just be sure to give them a couple of layers of glass.
@@gowerski In a recent video they were talking about something on the boat engine engaging and he said ‘I used to be engaged’ or ‘I was engaged once’. Something like that.
There's a couple of things you can try to remove the discolouration on the wall panels. Firstly, any varnish or other coating will have to come off. Then, you could try an oxalic acid solution to remove the stains. You can buy ready-to-use products for use on wood. The other treatment that might work is a "mold and fungas" remover for wood. There may be a fungal element to that stain, although it's more likely to be organic matter suspended in the water that has been absorbed into the wood grain. Oxalic acid should shift that. Give it a go in an inconspicuous spot as a test. I've had good results with both treatments in the past. Hello from Scotland!
I look forward to the next episode "30 Year Old Italian Yacht stuck in a tree" the rollercoaster this series has been, while unfortunate, has been a treat to watch
i havent skipped a single video you uploaded since I first subbed to you back in 2018 and I remember my first time watching your video on that wrecked GTR and you rebuilt it. Great content everytime! Happy 4th bro!
Very happy to see the Riva running again. Although I understand why the new boat will work better for your needs, the new boat will NEVER equal or even come close to matching the coolness, the looks, the historic significance of a marvelous old Riva. Rivas epitomize suaveness, elegance, cruising the Italian Riviera in style. Pontoon boats are clunky party barges, period. Great video.
I lived in Beaverton back in 1996 and watched the fireworks 🎆 on the water with background music from KOIN.🎉 Thanks for the memory. Oh I'd make the Saloon walls a shade of grey to match the shutters.😅😊
Great job. What a fantastic crew you have and an amazing wife too. Enjoy your content and always showing the reality of these projects. Always appreciate your can-do attitude.
Great job Chris and gang. It's a lovely boat and I enjoy all the content covering all the trials and tribulations associated with it - it was well worth restoring after it sank. Looking forward to more clips in the future doing what it does best.
Chris you should suggest to Holley to make a matt finish version of those screen... they're really reflective and might be hard to read in full sun.. (probably not as much of an issue in the dash of a car)
Can’t read all the comments but from a glazier’s perspective the amount of glue used in the middle was for safety so that god forbid should the mirror break it stays on the wood. Now your whole center can fall onto someone if it breaks.
@@vegas1746 the majority of liquid nails and the backing on mirrors nowadays it’s fine. We will use liquid nails to secure mirrors in frames. But for mirrored walls yes we use mastic.
You need to get some good foam flooring for the outside on the boat. It looks so good and clean! I think seadeck is a good company of flooring with good options! And the boat already looks amazing!
Learned so much that I didn’t know you could do!!!😮 glass cutting, carpet change with just outlining the old to new and the black material you stapled.. pretty kool… glad it all worked out for you..
When you announced your new custom pontoon boat, I was scared b is for boat was toast. Glad you restored/resurrected it! This is the spirit of your channel
Chris, maybe a video on proven ways to prevent catastrophic failures on boats in the freezing winters. I’d be in for watching. Could help other boat owners avoid this situation. Awesome to see the boat back in action. Great job.
I'm one of the original people who watched that first boat video 5 years ago. It was my old channel that they deleted. I'm so happy to see you finished the build! Very happy this came across my homepage as a suggestion!
The boat is looking awesome! As for the wood , you could sand it all and refinish, wrap it with vinyl but you'd lose the amazing wood that highlights an interior or skin the wood with a thin wood veneer and have a great pick of options of wood species.
VERY good job with this boat! :3 I am beyond happy that you restored the boat and not just throw it out, also I am very proud of you for doing all the work on the boat it looks GREAT! :3
The boat was a huge shift away from the norm on the channel, and I didn't really think I'd enjoy watching it. But honestly, I've loved every step of it. Great job guys!
Really great work Chris & team💪. Nice to see Chelsea - all of you showing us how to simply keep going. Whatever the situation. Whatever the odds. When you look back on your life Chris. You’ll never regret the boat. You’re not supposed to break even on a boat. But tell that to the smiles. 🤘🤘👏👏
Just had this idea, if you are still looking for a body to put on the model 3 performance you could make one that is inspired by the cybertruck but low and wide like the lambo you originally wanted to do. Seen a lot of ai images that have this look and I think it could look great and be original.
I prefer the B is for Boat on your channel. I’m from PNW and enjoy the Columbia and other rivers. So to me, I like that you share that beauty (especially the trip to the ocean regardless of the fires) with others. B is for Boat all day!
Hi Chris the reason the round patches were on the mirror is because the mirror and the adhesive had a reaction. It happens if the wrong adhesive is used it eats the mirror from the back. I’d use a mirror glue of low module silicone to glue it if you want it to last. Good job the boat stuff is super interesting there is a lot of cool aspects to deal with with goii out d solutions. Well done 👍
I'm a supervisor in a plywood mill about 3 hours south of you, and we make 1/4" Custom Marine plywood, so if you need any, let me know.
I hope your ply doesn’t flex as much as you, Mr Supervisor! 😎
So cool, people helping people

Black brushed aluminum wrap would look cool. With some indirect lighting.
What about brushed steel wrap lol
This is such a good series ... it has it all .. excitement, surprise, sadness, recovery, and excitement once again.
I'm loving this series.

Good to see chelsea is still in the picture! :) I think quite a few of us were weirdly worried about that lol

Amazing work you guys have done. You don’t quit!
The lack of respirators while sanding and working with the glass is EXTREMELY dangerous. Doesn't take much to ruin your life with that stuff!!
I really miss this boat, more videos please 😂😂
I admire your recilence motivation and the fact that give you so much joy to see others having a great time because of you.

@marklr5716 always an issue photo Matt glass finish would be better. Less glare.
A matte option would be perfect.
Though they make an anti-glare cover/film and some matte black vinyl around the edge could be the DIY solution.
Likely the glass helps protect against the elements
@@ohsoquickly_x
I was thinking along the same lines. Finishing the dash surround in a dark mate would help with glare, too.
Amazing work! Congratulations on making it all come together.
It's called "Mirror Mastic". It looks like liquid nails but it won't remove the coating on the back.
i believe it was liquid nails.. hence the circles etched into the glass from the backside.
Great video. Pontoon boat vids crazy but will be interesting. Really enjoyed this vid
What an amazing transformation and accomplishment. She is B is for Beautiful. Always staying positive. Good job all around
Install stong led light pointing on the side of the boat. When you anchor, can turn it on and bright enough to jump in the water!
Really enjoyed following the journey with the boat. She looks awesome
To be honest, I have enjoyed your boat videos so much more and watch them all the way through over most of the car videos.
You are not wrong. You and your team overcame a LOT to put that boat back on the water. Huge congrats to you all!
Can’t read all the comments but from a glazier’s perspective the amount of glue used in the middle was for safety so that god forbid should the mirror break it stays on the wood. Now your whole center can fall onto someone if it breaks.
Indeed.
That makes a lot of sense
Liquid nails will eventually eat thru the mirror backing. They make a mirror glue called mirror mastic just for this.
@@vegas1746 the majority of liquid nails and the backing on mirrors nowadays it’s fine. We will use liquid nails to secure mirrors in frames. But for mirrored walls yes we use mastic.
