  • Creating an audiobook with ACX comes with the benefit of choosing the voice of your brand. But with so many options and samples, casting the perfect voice can be intimidating! In this episode, best-selling author and first-time audiobook publisher Kristina Rienzi invites you to join her in the casting room to select a great voice for her next audiobook. Featuring Audible Studios Director Kat Lambrix, our duo will go through the process of choosing an audition script and building a title profile to seek auditions. They’ll review an audition from narrator Chris Ciulla and discuss the best ways to provide feedback to get a great performance from your narration partner. Topics include: • Selecting the best audition script to bring out the best performances in your potential partners.
    • How to dynamically describe your audiobook for potential auditions.
    • How to sort through auditions to find the best voice for your project.
    • How to provide an appropriate level of feedback throughout the production process.

Thanks a million, ACX! I've learned more in two days of watching your "Setting Up A Home Studio" video series than I have in months of viewing some other Voice Acting Resources.
Something videos like this one enlighten me on is how personalized Narrating can be for Audio Books. I never knew that Authors could work directly with those that will provide the voice(s) for their books, but it makes perfect sense.
I'm eager to continue learning from the pros that know!

I would actually recommend a bit more to your audition script. I would suggest putting a collection of short partial scenes together. Each one with a different tone, so the narrator can do one or two of these scenes and you can see their voice diversity. Before each scene, give a setting, emotion, and character/voice information.
I would recommend 6 short scenes. Keep them short, take only a piece of a scene for the audition script with the part most important to get right for voice.
    1. Narrative voice
    2. Witty Dialog
    3. Male/Female dialog
    4. Emotional/Sexual tension
    5. Emotional Sadness
    6. Action
I post more about this on my blog.

Great information. Background music with snare drums extremely distracting from content.

30 Shades of Dead has only 3 feedbacks...she does not qualify as an expert. Show me the money and the feedbacks.
