At a casino I used to go to, there was an average-looking receptionist who'd been working there for ages and ages. A GORGEOUS new girl joined and started as a receptionist alongside her. I swear, it was no more than 2 weeks before the new girl was promoted to a hostess who showed customers around individually. I felt so bad for the first girl.

I mean, on a technical level, you want your host to be charming so it attracts more people in. So you can say that being beautiful was also on the "qualifies" for the promotion. I mean, still unfair, because even if the new girl didn't appear, they wouldn't have promoted her, at least into a hostess.

Attractiveness is not like a flashlight, it can't be turned off. Charm can be, but ones physical features are there. There are people who look better with a certain haircut or style, but naturally born attractiveness won't look worse depending on what you wear or the hairstyle. I learned that when I was 8yo. Everyone thought I was so adorable and cute with bedroom eyes and it hasn't changed.

In my experience, it can go both ways. Professionally, when the more attractive person got the job, but couldn't keep up with the work, they soon found themselves looking for another job. On the other side, a not-so-attractive person who had great credentials in a front-facing position was told to basically polish herself up because the potential clients she was pursuing couldn't take her seriously. In other words, "pretty privilege" can get you in the door but it won't get you a seat at the table. Conversely, credentials can get you the seat but you'll be there alone if you look like you don't care about yourself or the job.

Thank you for spitting truth Alux. I knew this since I was a teen, but your video speaks louder than I do. People come to me and others with BS sugarcoats and they tell me "it's confidence that matters"... but they secretly go for looks before the confidence. A good looking man can sit and do nothing and the women approach the man and not even care about the confidence. One of my best friends is good looking to a lot of women and the women and the same women look at me like im a nobody.
Remind yourselves that good looks dont last forever. There's a thing called the wall. when a person hits the wall, it means that they no longer look good and arent desirable. So they lower their standards so that they dont feel alone. and while they are with the person who they find unattractive, they go on social media looking at men/women they really want. Hell no, I'm not with that sh*t.
here's what's weird, I'm hispanic (Dominican). Women of the same kind do not find me attractive. They think I'm ugly but refuse to admit. They hedge themselves by calling me “bro”, “you’re a good friend”, and other friend zone crap lol. I realize that some Irish, German, and Native American women are attracted to me though.
Don't dwell on unattractiveness too much btw. Dwell on investments and other things that will help you better yourself. I'm all in on crypto and when people in my circle find out my gains, watch them act like they've been attracted to me the whole time smh. F*ck them.

I agree with this video. And it's straight out truths. Attractive people really do have an advantage on life. But, keep this in mind, it takes hard work to be beautiful, and if you slack on it, out goes the beauty.
I know, I worked as a Paramedic, and my squad partner was a new EMT, gorgeous blond with blue eyes. 5'9 and a body, look identical to Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). I was so excited as a single man and spend 12 hrs in a squad working and learning more about each other. That's how far that went. As for work, she was a horrible partner. Poor work ethics, poor patient rapport, so frustrating, and thinking because she was attractive, she breezed through EMT school without any major challenges. I rather worked with my old partner who was a female that looked like Mike Tyson. At least she knew her job and was able to help with lifting. :)

So true! On the other hand though very attractive people especially women are not taken seriously at first. They have to prove themselves a little bit more depending in what industry to justify the "pretty privilege" hiring. Also pretty women who earn fast money in OF or exotic bars also tend to have slow problems down the road e.g. finding a partner who respects them and not treating them as an "object".

There are a few examples such as the dripping venom of envy and jealousy that you elicit from other people, the lies and endless gossip, the backstabbing and sabotage, the intrusion to privacy, the mistrust that you get from other people thinking that you would steal their SO, just because that partner struck up a conversation with you,the entitlement that you receive from other people who think that they own you just because they like you, the control and manipulation that other people try to exert towards you trying to use you for clout because they know that other people seeing them with you speaks as a form of validation for them....etc........Thank you.

#1 is so true. I had a friend refer me to a job. The guy who did the hiring hired a girl based on her legs. My legs aren't bad, but they're also not great. As I'm aging I'm finding myself more hireable because I have taken care of myself. I guess I look pretty good because higher paying jobs have been easier to find. Years ago, life was harder for me. I was judged much more harshly. I have found good looking teachers are a distraction. I do better with average looking teachers.

I heard a person say recently, "God has favorites!"
We've all seen people and thought 'dang, God spent a lot of time on them'.
I've often said the phrase 'God-made' when I see an uncommonly attractive person, I mean a person that looks so beautiful it seems impossible that they didn't go under the knife for their looks...but turns out they are a natural beauty... especially when you see their parents and reality sets in.
I am not an attractive person, I've never been called beautiful by the opposite sex or the same sex. I've always gotten the classic, your smart comment...no matter how hard I've tried to be beautiful, wear trend clothes, keep up with current cool language, etc...I'm still just smart.
I agree with the unfair pay gap. I'm often overworked vs my more attractive colleagues and looked over for key promotions despite going way above to prove myself. So over time I just stopped caring...and do the bar minimum since I get paid the bare minimum. And I never know anything when the pretty person shows up needing help...I can never help... because if you help them, they'll get the credit and give none of it to you.
If I sound a bit bitter...I am...cause in the words of someone else "God has favorites!"

As for the prom beauty, how is this a pitfall? Because she doesn’t want to make the effort to ask a man out? Do you really believe any man would say no? I was a very shy girl from an abusive family. The part of life that made me the happiest at that time was when the local pond froze solid enough to ice skate on. No matter how cold it was, Michigan winters can be very cold) I would bundle up, then, head down to the pond to skate all day on the weekends. Ther was a girl who was 3 years older than me, she was always very very kind to me when she and I were at the pond at the same time to skate. She would ask me questions such as, "How are you?" or "where did you get such nice skates?"
I was so shy I could barely utter 2 or 3 words to her.
She was very pretty, very smart, her family lived in a large, beautiful house with 8 children.
She taught me how to skate backwards & do jumps to land without hurting myself.
I knew the Senior Prom was coming up. It was all I could think of, to talk about, with her. When I asked her if she was going to the prom with her boyfriend, she told me she had never had a boyfriend, had never been asked to the prom by anyone. She had asked the 2 guys, who couldn't or wouldn't say, "Yes".
I have known other people who were also held back by being so attractive, both men & women, that they were alone 90% of the time. Instead of whining about it they spent their time building their business, traveling, exercising or volunteering their time at animal shelters as well as other charitable organizations.

However someone could be using you if they think you will benefit them somehow but if that ain't the issue the love is likely genuine.

However, attractive kids are put down by jealous other kids bad comments... to make a very attractive person believe they are not attractive, I know.

I also agree with all the facts. But there are also exceptions.
In India if you are light skinned you are viewed as attractive. If you are dark skinned it is not considered attractive.

The first black millionaire in America was Jeremiah Hamilton who died in 1875. He was a wildly successful stockbroker which was a legendary feat for a black man at the time. But then he had angular features such as high cheekbones and a straight pointed nose. He had dark skin which accentuated his features all the more by contrast. There are several photos of a DIFFERENT Jeremiah Hamilton online who looks more like an average black guy. This insanely rich man in no way resembled him.

I agree with Professor Dario Maestripieri on his research. Could this be based on our instincts? It seems this is similar to the same concept of mimicking the rich rather than envying the rich. Attraction comes in many forms and is not necessarily dependent on beauty but on how one carries oneself. If people don’t find you attractive, you may have been ignoring how people perceive you, or you’ve put this human responsibility far too long. Reinventing yourself or invest in self-care. Pick yourself up, level up, and stop complaining. Thank you, ALUX!

ive noticed when you take care of your appearance people tend to help you out more or invest in you. i remember i use to work as a driver and customers mainly females use to give me free gifts, they also use to offer me job's and get touchy with me, when i went for a interview, the conversation was never about the interview, its crazy but appearance does open doors for you but this said your mindset also plays a big part.

I don't want to boastful or anything but I'm what perceived to be attractive now...... Which wasn't the case always.....idk just puberty hit me or something but now the behaviour of those same relatives and friends with me is far more different than what use to be before but on the side note it isn't always good cause I honestly have trust issues now with the people around me cause because of their fickle behaviour 🤷🏻‍♀️...... Just keep in mind people beauty might lead to all these things mention here but it has it's own disadvantages...... @alux please do make a video on the topic of *some of the disadvantages of being attractive*

Until 1-2 years ago I was one of them who never dressed up , never cared about how my hair is looking I only cared whether my clothes are clean and I am clean but I never went the extra mile for looking attractive .... since these 2 years I have been focusing on exercising more , eating healthy food ,avoiding all the junk and I have been dressing the same way ... Its just that my body has become toned slightly so I tend to look attractive in my clothes ....I still shop from Thrifts . The point of narrating all this is that Me Inspite of looking average I have just started exercising more to keep my self fit and I have been eating healthy food I am never behind following trends I share some snippets of my life on Social media (I dont expect to get praise I just post them for my close friends and well wishers) doing certain simple things or upgrading ur life in these small ways can bring about incredible changes in your life ..U dont necessarily are required to live like a socialitte to look attractive just try to increase ur self esteem focus on being healthy !!

This may be hard for some people to hear but if you stop and think about it, the reason people feel this way (1:18) is because it’s actually pretty hard for an attractive person to work as hard as their less attractive peer. That’s because even before they have a chance to put forth the effort that unattractive or plain people do, they’re already being given an advantage! In other words, sometimes people don’t give good looking people the opportunity to genuinely work hard and even when good-looking people insist on doing so we all know that even if they didn’t work hard they’d still get the same privileges anyway. It is what it is.

"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". Beauty is skin deep. But we are visual beings so yeah makes sense. All you have to do is look at on IG! If you are a pretty or "beautiful" person with no confidence and low self esteem you will look unattractive to others.

It takes a channel such as ALUX to be honest about & point out what people on the other side of attractiveness have known for YEARS..... Thank You for that..... because MOST attractive people LOVE trying to downplay the FACT that their looks have opened doors that the average person may never get a chance to walk through....... FACTS!

God damn. I would just fucking kill myself right now if I weren't scared of the eternal void we are all doomed to. I have (had) friends who were a triple A family. Everyone was in some sort of medical field and all of them looked fucking amazing. They busted their asses for their jobs and degrees for sure. But it was like almost every opportunity was just fucking handed to them on a platter.
The eldest brother was bitching to me about how women literally begged....begged him...to sleep with them. Meanwhile, I have not had a date in 4 years because of insecurity issues caused by judgements on my physical appearance. And no, it's not cause I'm fat. I'm way too thin and any muscle gained is lost in fucking weeks.
