Oh yeah me and Izzy used to watch all of those! I haven’t noticed any coming out lately. Have you? I don’t really watch telly much though - mainly just UA-cam and the odd bit of catch up and Netflix with IB and/or Isabel.
As an American, it is odd to see a washing machine in your kitchen, let alone a bathtub! We usually have a "Utility Room" or a dedicated closet area for the washer and dryer. These last three vlogs about St. Fagans are great. Thanks for filming and editing them for us.
Aww I’d LOVE to have a dedicated laundry room! I associate that with wealth here. It’s normally just part of the kitchen here. Thanks so much for the appreciation of the editing. I appreciate the appreciation! 😆
Thanks Imogen..it's really refreshed my memory..went a while ago.. hearing you talk about the open fire brought back lovely memories..💐we went to a holiday cottage a few years ago in Hebdon Bridge and the old unused bath was in the kitchen..🤭
Aw lovely! There's something very calming and therapeutic about watching a real fire in a grate. It's kind of mesmerizing. That's interesting to hear about the old bath in the kitchen! I'll be interested to see what other people write about that, too. Thanks so much for watching, Jan. x
Thanks guys! These are my favourite videos to make but they sadly don’t do as well as my more every day content. It’s a shame. I’m hoping these will eventually out perform by coming up in search over the years. Fingers crossed!! UA-cam is a tricky game to navigate! 😆
I remember visit national slate museum in llanberis hand house ther house ther going in past and my town Conwy got smallest house in great Britain I enjoy watching it
Now that sounds like somewhere I'd like to visit. I think I've seen that smallest house a few times on other people's vlogs. :¬) Thanks so much for watching, Jason.
I love that fire makes me feel so cosy with a nice fire. My gran used to have one of those desks ... i'd always just open and close it for the sake of lol Cool to see the cottages through time like that
Oh boy that was grand! I loved the explanations of the posture board, left-hand gadget, etc. It really is stepping back into time. The 80s stuff looked very dated to me. Things have changed. But we can go to thrift shops and find a lot of those items still. I'm keen on 40s and 50s things. The washing-up stations in the bedroom remind us of how far we've come.
Love St Fagans! Haven't been for a while. Great vlogs Imo x Oh and yes, did have a bath in the kitchen when I was very young .... and a freezing outside loo 🥶
My aunt had one of those baths in her South Wales kitchen in the 70s. When the lid was down it acted as a kind of work surface, or shelf, albeit very low.
Oooh I’ll have to decide. I love making these sorts of vids the best but oddly the more day-to-day vids get more views - at least in the short term. Oh well! 😆
Im really loving the videos because I really do like social history. So interesting. Just occurred to me that Imo is short for Imogen. I once asked a group of ladies what name they would choose for themselves if they could change their Christian name. I chose Imogen. You are the first "Imogen" I have ever "met". TFS 😊
Aw thanks! I didn't appreciate my name as much when I was very little because I felt it made me stick out like a sore thumb, but now I like it a lot. :¬) I love the social everyday living type history too. I love visiting places like this. Thanks so much for watching. x
I hated seeing those finger locks for those left handed children. God made their brains to work left handed. Poor kids. I know I've heard lots of stories
It happened to my very own Grandma, actually. She was born a leftie and 'cured' of it. What insanity was that? Wow. She grew up in England - presumably London, as far as I know. Born 1910.
@@PlanetImo I've heard stories too. My grandmother was amidextrous, and of course made to use her right hand to write with. She did about everything else with left hand. My dad was left hand. Wish I could ask him about it. I have a slew of cousins left handed, and a son in law. I seriously think that was cruelty back in the day.
Here's a playlist to some of my other St Fagans vlogs:

I suffer loads of health problems but still put my parents first
remembered those houses were occupied over 40 years ago, built near the old leisure centre
😊
Loved this so much I loved watching the family's that went back in time on TV few years back all the best donnyx

Hello, traveling through the houses in time was brilliant,1985 was right for the year, especially the cups and the tape player.the TV is so cool.
I remember they used to have a beta max player there - it was huge. I didn’t know why they took it away. Thanks so much, Steven! X
Great travel through time! And we didn't even need a Delorean time machine!
No that’s true! The train was all I needed.

The simple homes seem really cosy. No distractions. And uncluttered
Unlike my house! Ha ha ha!
Enjoyed this series of videos. Nothing beats historic places!

Thanks for the set of vlogs I have enjoyed them :D
Thanks so much! It's a real treat to make vlogs like these - I had lots of fun making them. Thanks so much, Jason.
In the houses 1805 at 1:10, 1855 at 2:15 and 1895 at 3:45 it is a goffering iron stand. They were used to create ruffles and pleats.
Loved visiting this many years ago with my Aunty from Cardiff😊 & such a interesting museum

We really have come a long way in a short space of time. Thanks so much, Karen. X
I think the item in the 1855 house you couldn't remember what it was, is a candle snuffer.
Ah! I wondered it it might have been a candle snuffer of some sort put I couldn't work out what the pokey thing was for. 🤣 Thank you so much, Sarah. x
Love St Fagans! Haven't been for a while. Great vlogs Imo x

Oh wow! Thanks for the info. Do you have any other places you live to visit around South Wales?
@@PlanetImo Margam Park is nice for a good stroll and beautiful Gothic mansion. Also Cosmeston Lakes. Oh and Cefn Mably Farm, if you love animals! 🙂

@@PlanetImo you're welcome 🙂
Very nice look around. Glad you got a hot drink.
Thanks, Dave. X
Good video. Continue on your road on getting the silver play button
Thanks 😊
Brill series of vlogs Imo really enjoyed them.
Look forward to your return for part 4.
Or would it be part 1 series 2 🤔😁

@@PlanetImo Bet the shopping vlogs go well. 😁👍
thanks for sharing good video
Thanks so much for watching 😊
I missed this one!
I tend to miss them when either I’m at IB’s or he’s at mine as it changes my routine.

a couple of things missing in the 1985 one was a Rubiks cube and a Sony Walkman :)
Oh yes! I had both of those things!
A bath I'm the kitchen. That's odd but maybe good for the heat from the oven?
I suppose so yes, and a room that’s more suited to getting steamed up than the lounge…
Shared ovens. Never knew that
if you walked in on somebody sitting on the toilet, that would have been a great thumbnail for this vlog! Just imagine the look on his face! LOL
😆
My mum had a cassette player like that.
❤️
hello i am sad right now and how are you i love you videos thare amazing
Aw sorry to hear you were feeling a bit miserable. I hope you’re feeling happier today. I’m not too bad thanks. Thanks so much for watching.
I like seeing the different eras, its neat to see how they used to live, but the Schools back then were kinda mean I think. :o)
I think so too! Not exactly nurturing, were they?!
What was your step count this day?
Over 20,000!
TV dinner of fish and chips 🍟
Some things haven’t changed!

The things people got punished for. Goodness
I know. Ridiculous isn’t it.
