Having Ian and Graham both in a mini makes me think of the tall man (also named Ian apparently) from 22 short films about Springfield. "Do you find something comical about my appearance when I'm driving my automobile?"
@@adcon00 Like a Trabant or a Tatra (although, I guess technically both companies survived the cold war shakeups of their home countries by at least a few years). On a personal note: Tatras are super cool
It really says something that when I saw it, I didn't know if there was a punch line, but I didn't necessarily expect there would be one, either. Love it, though. I wonder if it's hard to source parts for it. Doesn't look like there's much room for a jack to change the tires, but you can probably just pick it up and flip it over anyway.
More like this, please? Team-up episodes really do let you lean into your improv chops, and I'm sure that there's more than just the swap-n-shop going on in town. You might even be able to get Canadian government money for promoting local tourism.
As someone who grew up in Colwood I sometimes forget that LRR aren't just people in my phone but exist in my hometown. Then I see stuff like this where they are bumming around the JDF rec centre and the Esquimalt Lagoon and all my old stomping grounds and it's very surreal. It's kind of weird that I never ran into any of them, seeing as Victoria is pretty small and I definitely hung out in MtG/comics stores like Yellowjacket a fair amount.
by far my favourite thing they did was the top gear style road trip. Those were the highlights of my week a few years ago when new episodes would come out.
I enjoy this content so much, I can't even put it into the right words. A massive increase in social anxiety and a lack of local chums have kind of made this sort of adventure difficult at best, but I genuinely enjoyed doing this now and again in my younger days. Thank you!
Wow, that Fisher Price astronaut was a blast of faded childhood memory. Ian was right, I dimly recall the shuttle made all sorts of noises and then many years of it never making noises again.
I recall a scuba diver adventure set that I think was part of the same line. The highlight was a hard rubber tiger shark that outlasted all the other toys.
The pointer brings up a good rule: don't buy anything you can't fit in your pocket. That way you don't have to lug anything around and can hide your shame when you get home.
15:26 Oh! I think I’ve heard about the items mentioned in this timestamp! I’ve been listening to episodes of the radio show “Casey, Crime Photographer” and they were largely sponsored by a company called Anchor Hocking. One product line they would advertise during the shows was called something like “fireking jadeite glassware.” They probably don’t glow in the dark, as they’re just meant to look like they’re made of jade.
You know what else that vintage typewriter doesn't have? A '1' key. Back then you used a lower case L for the 1. My grandmother had one but I forgot about it and when she died I didn't think to get it so it got sent to the estate sale. Also, pretty sure those meat shredders were those mini-Wolverine claws that you use to tear up briskets and other large cuts of meat.
I was hoping you'd buy the life preserver entirely for the "Studio C" door, because puns. Also overjoyed to see Ian find something like that, the joy of swap meets really is finding something to fits a collection you already have going!
Engaging with the algorithm to say that if that green glassware was marked as Fire King glass, it wasn't uranium glass. There is uranium glass in that color but not from the makers of Fire King. It'd have been perfectly safe to eat off of, and legit fairly collectable.
This makes me miss Road Quest so much - please, more chill-car-trip-somewhere videos like this! Also that lady at the end was NOT going to get out of her car until Graham and Ian finished filming.
I genuinely want to suggest to people that if there is this sort of flea market/swap meet/etc. in your area where the sellers have to bring their goods and take them away that you make a habit of visiting them. They are a great way to get out and start your day with an interesting leisurely walk, and you never know what you might find. My partner and I do it most sundays. We only occasionally buy something, but there is always something weird and interesting to see.
The usual pipeline for resellers is buying at these types of places and reselling on Etsy or Ebay. I used to do it, but I was looking for things I could refurbish and make a good return on - I enjoy fixing things so it was always a bit of fun saving something before finding it a new home.
Medabots, next to Amiibos , space marines and the Mighty Saiyaman, truly as Dave indended. Thanks for this. I haven't been to a "car-boot sale" in years, but I did managed to collect an original Megazord and complete the Beast Wars vhs'.
This brings back so many memories of browsing car boot sales here in England. I should definitely go to one again some time, but the one in my town closed down a few years back. Would probably be a great place to hunt down some Playstation 2 stuff for my collection.
Speaking as a crafter, those magnet pointers are super handy to have when, say, you drop a box of pins. Wonder if Ian will make use of it on Tinker Tailer Solder Fry sometime
Those meat shredders at 9:53 are actually pretty decent in some cases, especially with pulled pork. And much like in the comments for the live show, I am once again tagging myself as Sad Cafe for the tag yourself music edition at 13:58
Oh my gosh I have the book at 9:46 and used it! Back in 2003 I thought it was time I finally begin my art career, I drew one terrible looking waifu for an internet forum I was on, and promptly got laughed right out of that career path. It was heinous.

I think going to a swap an shop in a mini Cooper is a good start, because that limits what you can purchase, volume wise - unless you are going to swap the Cooper for something. 🤣🤣
Me: Why do I recognize these weird plushies? Grahm: "Are these the dustbunnies from The Big Comfy Couch?" Me: Oh my gosh, I completely forgot that show existed. 😆
That wide-angle shot making it seem physically impossible for Graham to fit in Ian's car is absolutely lovely.
It reminded me of Road Quest and I got excited...
It's not just the wide angle shot, that Mini has a deciptively large amount of room for its occupants.
It definitely tickles me seeing two very tall men get in and out of a very small car.
This feels like a graham vlog that broke containment, Affectionately
comedians in car getting tchotchkes

It was either going to be that or a car from a country that no longer exists.

1:37 "A friend of mine, and also James" - I like how this implies that James is not a friend of Graham's.
Every time LRR goes out of the office, I am reminded of how beautiful Victoria is, and how lucky I am to live here.

Those Wolverine meat claw things are a menace. We got them and using them hurt my hands from how awkward the grip was. Never again.
Wow. The amount of trivial knowledge that Ian has is honestly amazing.
This is like Road Quest if the treasure was less "the friends we made along the way" and more "the stuff we found at a swap meet."

Ian's Mini has such a lovely interior. Wood veneer dashboard!
