Who is your favorite QB for this years draft?

If Drake falls to someone he can sit behind for a year or two with a good coach he could be the guy of this draft. Otherwise I think there are some good starters but no perineal pro bowlers.

For everyone shitting on Drake Maye, please go watch the film and see who you would throw to, everyone is blanketed. When I watched the film on the top guys no one earned their yards and completions more than Drake. Jayden Daniels getting through his progressions is throwing to two first rounders who were getting 5-10 yards of separation regularly. Still love Jayden but this is not a fair comparison.

Drake Maye is gonna take some time to develop, but he might be worth it.
The question is, do Patriots' fans have the patience to allow him to sit his rookie year??

When ppl say pro style offense they don’t realize shotgun and spreading out defense is the new pro style not handing the ball off and shotgun passes. Those schemes are used when you know your QB can’t handle putting the team on his back cuz the ISNT elite😂😂 that’s why it’s a qb friendly scheme made Geno look decent but Geno will never win a big game or a ring for that matter so sure take McCarthy he’ll probably be efficient at best he will never be a elite tier qb. He will be good maybe very good for that matter but that’s not enough look at the Dak Prescott’s of the world.

I just don’t understand how McCarthy fits the Vikings better than Penix. Like I still don’t understand what y’all are seeing, he’s not the most athletic, not the strongest arm, not the most creative, and to top it barely threw the ball as is. With Maye you’re sculpting a skill set and he can be the next big thing, I just don’t see how McCarthy is gonna be a better pro than College player.

I think it’s just injury history but Penix isn’t that good in the short to intermediate but still I feel much better than JJ.

JJ played in a pro style offence with a lot of play action (which KOC loves. Minnesota targets the middle of the field massively and JJ was one of the best over the middle. He has a ripping arm threw like 61MPH at the combine (Josh Allen threw 62). He’s good throwing on the move and moving the pocket, he’s a winner and will do whatever it takes to win, ideal size 6’3 219. There’s a lot of pros with JJ as well as some cons don’t get me wrong. Penix would not fit the Vikings situation. He is incredible at deep balls in a clean pocket but over the middle and short/intermediate throws he isn’t amazing. His accuracy is also awful once he’s throwing in the run which is something the Vikings like to do when moving the pocket. Penix has also had like 4 season Enders and is 24 where as JJ is 21 with only room to grow. I can see your argument but I think overall JJ is much better fit.

    • @user-hg4hz1lx2h
      @user-hg4hz1lx2h 5 місяців тому

@@A5A1A5 See but that right there is my problem, JJ not anymore of a winner than anyone else on that Michigan squad nor Penix for that matter, and Penix has been healthy recently. Plus there’s nothing “pro style” about handing off the football anymore and it’s more a Gun game like Washington.I think the Texas game showed that Penix can run when needed, and that Touchdown strike while moving up in the Pocket was simply special. I’ll give you he can work on his short passing game, but intermediate and deep passing is something he will excel at.
Not a Vikings fan but, I just feel that if Penix is a Viking he will win OROY bc you can’t fully commit to the run or he’ll go over the top and can’t only play over the top bc then he can hurt you on over routes and teams run game, with McCarthy I feel like he’s just schemable and just think he needs to go to a team like the Broncos that’s gonna teach McCathy about truly being on time with execution, and he can grow in a loaded division where no one will bat an eye will he gets better. Just my two cents

@@user-hg4hz1lx2h Really nice breakdown of your thoughts. I am a vikings fan and i have been watching way too much about all these QB's (my preference is Maye) and at the end of the day any of the top 5 guys i would not be upset with, especially with the talent on the roster.
Saying JJ isnt a winner is a bit harsh, the season before his first season at Michigan they were awful and there was talks of JH being sacked. He comes in as a 5 star recruit and almost leads them to a national champ. The next year he does. I get what you mean about handing the ball off, people never seem to mention that in the Penn state game, when he did hand the ball off, he had a shoulder injury and JH was suspended.
When JJ was asked to carry the load or make a play (often on 3rd down situations mainly 3rd and long) he was the best QB in the class on completion and efficiency.
Honestly im a big fan of Maye, JJ and Penix, i worry more about the durability then the talent with Penix as when they stopped making him run he lasted alot longer but i dont know if he will have that luxury in the NFL.
      I appreciate your take brother

We thought we were gonna see lots of QBs taken in the first round last year too. Didn’t happen. Teams know they can wait until 2nd or even 3rd round for some of these QBs. I see the same thing happening. Cause most teams have a QB or drafted one ahead of them so these teams know teams will not be taking a QB later. Better to draft a true blue chip player in round 1 first. Then get a QB later. At MOST we can see 4 QBs taken cause vikings might try to trade ahead of the giants if they are scared they will take their QB

70% of 1st round QB picks wind up as backup QBs after 3 years.
Only 30% of 1st round picks become 10 year starters, since 2010.

Nix EPA was equally impressive when removing all the short routes. Nix is almost as underrated as Dak Prescott was in 2016. Drake Maye was the most effective over the middle of the field and that translates to the NFL. Each of these QB’s have tools that are desirable as well as concerns to clean up. None of these QB’s are worthy of the first pick!

JJ is so much better than people think. When he came to Michigan he was just a wild stallion. Watch his first touchdown pass at Michigan. Michigan reeled him in and now people call him a game manager. JJ can do whatever you need him to do, he’s a SPECIAL talent when you include his intangibles which are OFF THE CHARTS. And every Michigan fan already knew that and knew he would rise during the process, nothing is surprising Michigan fans who watched every snap he took. He has the IT factor everyone talks about and people that haven’t seen it yet are just choosing not to actually watch the tape with an open mind
