  • My first attempt to repair a microwave instead of destroy one. Okay, so the fix was trivial, but I am sharing this for people who find catharsis in the process of troubleshooting technical problems.

3:50 'anymore fuses?...' I like your investigating spirit. Well done!

excwelent video, but with all due respect you should had check first the resistance or impedance of the load, if there ias a short or low value of the component your fuse will continue blowing until yo replace the defective component, THANKS SO MUCHo

Ha! That pesky H.V. fuse strikes again! I cannot count how many microwaves Ive found on the curb with the same issue. That or a burned out door interlock switch. Its pretty rare to see a major part go bad.

True. And if you decide to part them out instead of fix them, they're like little treasure chests of high voltage components. :)

Mate great videos thank u …
My microwave starts beeping instantly without use it and there is a Cancel/pause button I use to push it then it stops then after time it starts doing it again and it shows me on screen a Co-2 and a sign of grill symbol and there is a 1s on top of screen! I take of the power from it , I thought it will rest it some how but won’t help same thing on screen 🤦‍♂️ any ideas. It’s Stirling branded but it’s look identical to yours but my buttons are not touch just a plastic buttons,,
    Many Thanks
    Matt Cheers

I replaced the fuse but still blows. Could you please help me with the reason?

if your fuse is blowing than you may have a shorted transformer causing a high amp draw. most of the time the transformer fails an cannot regulate voltage correctly and will pull higher than rated amp draw causing the fuse to blow as a safety. you would need to check the ohm reading on your secondary line to ground and see if it is within spec. sometime you can see the transformer has begun to burn around the coil

No explanations; what things are? what they do?
    Not much of a teacher.

what do you want to know? you have a transformer, magnetron, high voltage capacitor, diode and a couple hi limit switches that close the loop on voltage if it senses too high of temps.
