I think just most of your fanbase has grown in age compared to a lot of the "newgen" minecraft youtubers. So most of us dont mind not having like daily or even weekly videos.
Also a lot of us will see videos pop up but not watch them right away. Like I see it and think "ah cool, I'll watch that after work when I have time". And I'm sure that affects the algorithm and ranking system stuff.
I follow a lot of the hermits besides this channel. a few of them have health issues that causes time away for them. Plus I'm a fan of the Orion Sound. if you get more then one video a year from him, it's cause for celebration. I don't need someone posting daily if it cause stress or health problems for them.
bro we went from elementary and middle school to like full time jobs and graduating COLLEGE. We love you bro. take ur time. we’re a bit busy than before but we still do watch you
I think that’s part of why we don’t mind less frequent uploads too. If someone uploaded daily I’d get too far behind and stop watching. Crap, I’m 3 episodes behind on deceased craft right now because I had a busy weekend and he happened to post.
Cap, I actually really like that you didn't settle down on just Minecraft. Skater/biker sparklez was iconic, and while people know you as the Minecraft music guy, you're also the car guy. The personality here was what's kept me around
@DogeFrom2014 same for me, I always really looked forward to the trials videos they were one of my favourite consistent uploads, it was a shame that they were a bit more niche because they were so much fun to watch
Heads up, notification tells me something is up Total shock fills my body Captain Sparklez again! I could never forget those abs abs abs (abs abs abs abs) 'Cause baby tonight Captain's back with a truth to share (truth to share, share)
I think the main thing about caring less about infrequent uploads is that there's just so much more content to watch, and viewers can fill the gap on their own
would absolutely love more UA-cam/life retrospectives like this!! been actively watching for 13+ years, and you're one of the main reasons I started UA-cam, so I found a lot of value in this vid :-)
It's weird to say this, but I quite literally grew up watching you. I was twelve years old when I first started watching your videos, curled up on the couch with a Kindle Fire in my lap just hungry to watch other people play Minecraft until I could get my own little hands on it. Oh, how times have changed since then. Now I'm twenty three, living on my own and far removed from the obsession with a silly block game that helped shape me into who I am today. I have a million other things I could (and probably should) be doing, but I always find myself coming back here just to see how you're doing. There's a simple sense of comfort in coming back and knowing that I wasn't the only one growing up, seeing you change and seeing comments that echo sentiments very similar to mine. To suffice it all, thank you. For all of the fun content and catchy songs that I still occasionally go back and listen to. For being consistently positive and entertaining. And for being one of the realest people on this platform in recent years. It's a nice change of pace. I hope you're doing well when the camera's off and living your life.
It’s insane that you are still mentally alright doing one game for content for over a decade. The burnout couldn’t be more extreme. I get burnt out after 20-30 vids on one game. It’s why i don’t do it because for a majority of UA-camrs who isn’t a special case scenario of fame, the channels always die out and the game the channel is known for losing a ince large interest and so on. Anyway. I still remember the exact day your viva lavida minecraft music video parody released. Seeing it was that long ago already blows my mind. I was a literal pre-teen child.
I know, that really tells us he values it as a whole job though, cuz no one in their sane mind can enjoy MC that long even if its their fav game lmao. Its just a job for him and he is good at it.
A lot of what you said resonated very strongly. Especially the part about worrying about locking into a particular game or niche and worrying about how others view you. It's something I've struggled with quite a bit, glad to see I'm not alone in feeling that way. Thanks for being the GOAT 💜
You will always be my favorite UA-camr. Growing up watching all the music videos, modded series, reviews, bunger games, and Mianites. You will forever be a great part of my childhood and I thank you for that. Through all the phases of UA-camrs, the drama, the clout chasing, the trends, you always kept to yourself and never changed yourself for short term gains and it shows. You are the UA-camr I have the most respect for and I also really like your taste in cars so definitely keep collecting! Thanks for all the videos from all 11.4 million of us.
I gotta say, I love these new greenscreen monologue videos. I've stuck with this channel since almost the beginning, and I enjoy all of your videos, but this new format is especially refreshing. I love hearing about your perspectives and experiences, challenges and regrets as a full time content creator.
Honestly, if you struggle with collabs, don't care about uploading frequently, and want to focus on livestreams, getting invited to Hermitcraft seems like the best possible opportunity for you. You already know Iskall very well, you've played with others like False, Scar, and Grian on MCC, you don't have to worry about frequent uploads because there are 27 other hermits, and you wouldn't be the first livestream exclusive Hermitcrafter, if you decided to not post formal videos on the main channel either. You don't really need to be a great builder or redstoner, you just have to be funny and entertaining, which you certainly are.
For the record Jordan, as a content creator who does play with other content creators on the reg, ive literally never met a single person who *wouldnt* want to collab with you lol. And not just because of your sub count. Youre a legend!
Just my two cents, about the home ownership opinion, I used to agree, but now I actually think the opposite. Owning a home is more like a long term investment. Being a renter makes you dependant on the landlord. If you buy a home and decide to move somewhere else later, you can rent the old home to cover the expenses of the new place. As you said, it's a lot more responsibility and maintenance, but having a guaranteed fallback is worth it.
I have literally no knowledge to base this on but as I understand it if you buy a home your mortgage payment will be lower than if you were to rent a place. Am I mistaken? Everything around where I live is 2k a month for a 2 bedroom apartment! I assume that if there was a 2 bedroom home for sale the payment would be like 1300?
@@TheSteamHati work in london real estate so not necessarily applicable to america, but a 2 bed apartment mortgage was 2100 last time i spoke to someone about his mortgage
@@TheSteamHat yes, but with one caveat. Renting will always be more expensive than buying the place at the time the place was bought, but it's not necessarily more than if you bought that house today. Someone who bought a house 20 years ago can afford to rent it out for much cheaper than someone who bought an identical house this year could because the first person bought their house for much less. Taxes go up over time, but the price you paid for a home doesn't. But if you have a choice between renting a home that was bought this year or just buying that home yourself, it's definitely cheaper to buy the home yourself.
@@TheSteamHat depends on where you are living and how much house. I could get a mortgage for the same payment as 1 bedroom rent if I look for the right property. But ultimately the house is an investment whereas the rent is just paying off someone else’s mortgage/investment
I think (especially in America) homeownership is the epitome of freedom to us. No one telling us what to do, what we can paint, or if that wall has to stay up. Besides HOAs and when the mortgage/bills are due, you can do what you want without asking someone else for permission
It is the genuine openness that you have with us, complete strangers who enjoy what you do, that led me to subscribe to your channel almost 7 years ago now. I have enjoyed the content from throughout your career and find the stuff I enjoy the most is the very stuff you’re having fun doing and enjoying. Some of the lessons you shared are a great reminder to people. We are all different, have different gifts and interests, it is what makes us unique. In regards to the collaboration and the struggles to do that type of content I feel very similar. I struggle to make connections with people and many people likely think I’m wierd. And I’m ok with that because they don’t know the real me. I love making other people smile and sharing what I enjoy with others (I also find joy in doing stuff with others even if it is not something I am innately drawn to, since I pick up more on how people feel/am empathetic). I’ve had my channel for over 7 years now and I still kinda make the same content now as I used to. I just post my Xbox captures to my channel and if anyone is interested they can watch. Now that I am nearing the end of school (7 years later) I am tempted to do some for fun streams of games. My biggest reason why I haven’t is I’ve not been able to make connections with people to be able to do so. Minecraft, Titanfall 2, and more recently Deep Rock Galactic are some of my favorite games and I enjoy playing them and would love to share that with others, I just find the gameplay is more exciting with others, but can be interesting single player as well. All that to say is I appreciate you wanting to share with us some lessons that may help us. We need to look out for eachother more than we currently do.
Jardoon you can say anything you want for 24 hrs straight and we'll still be there to listen to you. You made us happy for soo long Captain. Can't thank you enough ❤❤
I was 14 in 2010 and remember discovering the music videos. Shortly followed by my friends brief attempt at recording let's plays of a parkour map in your format - remember Hunger Games? You were a complete inspiration and I can't believe that as I enter my 28th year around the sun I have known you for more than half of my life.
You're the first one I've seen comment about age and time that was born in the '90s! I guess it makes sense, because you, and even people like me (born 2000) up through 2002 are probably a lot more busy than the younger adults commenting. I don't have a life. I just lift weights, eat mountains of food, sleep, and trade stocks or whatever, but that's not most of us.
@@TheBcoolGuy eh i do happen to find people from any range of age (at least below 55 or around) that consumes a bunch of socia media, even at their job, and that's despite me living on a relatively poor country (Guatemala) that makes it harder to get into technology in overall… imo they just use technology & social media on a different way than us lol that's why you don't see much of them commenting on youtube videos but i'm pretty sure a lot of them do use this kind of platform in one way or another (also not much people tend to just comment about their age that randomly, let's be honest)
“don’t be me” you are wise, Jardon. It takes a humble soul to air regrets publicly like this. Thank you for being a good role model for people like me (24) and younger folks who watch you today.
Years and years ago, I started watching this channel as pretty much my only Minecraft on UA-cam because my immediate reaction to your content was "holy crap, a Minecraft dude who isn't a loud moron!" Since then, you've proven your intelligence, genuineness, and charm time and time again, and this video is just the culmination of that. Thanks for the advice Jordan, because genuinely, you're the kind of person I aspire to be.
As someone who has come close to houselessness several times in her life, the real "joy" of home-ownership is knowing a place is yours and someone can't just throw you out on the street, because they don't like the color you painted the walls or because they think you have too many dogs or because you're not straight enough. Handling your own maintenance is absolutely a nightmare, but having a absent landlord who won't fix things is worse, IMO. It's all relative to each person's experiences and opportunities in life. I became a home owner for the first time in my life, ~5 years ago. I'm 41 years old. I've had some HVAC issues from HVAC-HELL that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I still would not want to be a renter.
Still love you captain. I've been watching you since I was 10 and now I'm 24. I remember coming home from high school and the best part of my day was sitting down and watching a new episode of mianite. The collab you did with the portal gun mod on the prison escape map is still in my "loved" videos file category. Needless to say, I'm married now, a baby is on the way, and have really been debating a house purchase so thank you for your insight. I figured renting was the better option (it's what we are doing now) but hearing it from someone I respect as much as you means a lot. I know it's not financial advice more like a confirmation of my own thoughts. I don't want to ramble I just want you to know that despite all of your regrets I still love your content (even if I don't watch everyday) and I hope that you don't dwell on the past too much. Thank you for everything you do
I'm just glad you're around Captain, you meant so much for me for all of my teenage and preteen years. I still remember landshark from one of your earliest Modded survival series. It's so neat to see your videos; I'm glad you carry on with your vods/livestreams. It's been a while and you're still around.
Thank you for making this video Captain. I first met your channel from a Machinima MW2 Booster Hunting video you made - one where you talked about changing your channel name to Captain Sparklez (you totally trolled those guys on the map Estate lol). I won't lie, Minecraft content hasn't been something I've watched for a while, but you've always seemed like a genuine guy. Now I'm working to grow a UA-cam channel myself, and this video helped me out greatly as multiple of these 'regrets' are things I'm considering right now. Thank you for taking the time to pass on any wisdom you've learned from your journey, it greatly helps the 'next generation' of UA-camrs pave their way forward.
This was nice, we don't get much "sit down and chat about life" content from the people we watch and care about so this was a very welcome video. Nice to just be able to hear what you've been thinking or how things seem to be going now and again
Hello, Am Euticus & new here and I feel like it's an insult to say that I just got to know about you today and this is the first video of you that I have watched . Most of you might be wondering which hole I just crawled out of😊, it's called Kenya🇰🇪. I am not a gamer myself and I hope that will be an excuse enough for not knowing you earlier. It's not often prominent people speak out about regrets and for being that bold , personally I am very grateful. Upon seeing your influence and the much years you have been in the GAME , I had to note down all the knowledge you were dispensing from your 14 years experience and from now on I will learn to commit to nurturing whatever skill I find myself good at without letting my other aspirations affect my efforts. Neither being concerned with what other people think of me plus the wisdom you shared on collaboration and investing 🙏. Experience can never be bought and you giving it for free , is Golden. Thank you Kiongozi.
Been here since pdts. Used to watch every upload as soon as it went live. Life, work etc etc gets in the way and found myself wacthing less frequently. That being said, the fact its been a minute since your last episode is probably a bit part to why I stopped what i was watching and immediately clicked on it I totally concur that youtube has shifted towards longer time between uploads, with much much higher production quality and/or content.
When you're subbed to 50-100 channels it gets old real quick if they're all releasing videos multiple times a day, everyday, or even every other day. Ya need some "videos happen when they happen" channels. 😊
I have my daily upload guys (rslash and hellfreezer, sheep music, and xkito music) and then a bunch of guys that make specific days special. That way there's always something to watch while I wake up, and something to listen to while I do some chores
@@-aid4084I didn't know what the cap on likes and subs were, and I just hit my 5k likes and I'm afraid of what's at the bottom falling off. I usually keep my likes more reserved to top tier content and not just a blind reaction to the usual "make sure you like and subscribe", so I wonder what interesting videos I might not see again.
The one issue I take with this is the one about the house lol. Renting is rarely ever a better investment if buying is possible (ie simple mortgage with best interest rate and 20% down) && you don’t need flexibility in location and can do a 15 year mortgage with at least 5-7 years in that location. It will always be a better deal until interest rates get super high. Maybe not in Cali and hcol places but nearly everywhere else. The thing is that for most young people none of those things apply so yes renting is better unless they have the ability/desire to use it as an investment vessel at which point it becomes different and more weighted to buying. Yes it comes with overhead, but so does renting (rising rent, moving costs, eviction, roommates, etc.). Basically it’s highly dependent on situation.
The only reason I would like home ownership is because the same issue of overhead and maintenance still applies to me as a tenant lol. Yeah I don't pay for it, but my landlord keeps the house so unlivable until someone comes to inspect the house. This is true of most landlords for student housing in Canada at least. It's definitely cheaper but being able to come home and not having to worry that you won't be able to fix serious health concerns like rodents, maggots, cracking, leaking, and all that would be nice. I want to be in charge of that.
I feel this. If I could have a landlord that cared, while still being affordable, that would be fantastic. I also like the ability to decorate more when you own the house.
really appreciate ur honesty and vulnerability in this. it's not a bad thing to explore ur content and ventures, even if they don't turn out in a positive way. especially when you are newer and naïve. i know leaving the main captainsparklez account is a big deal but i'm a newer fan as of a few years and i prefer the captainsparkles2 channel. also appreciate u acknowledging ur massive privilege mr fancy cars.
All of these were awesome concepts and very applicable in general. I am super excited to see the next one of these style videos come out, always love seeing the more analytical side of things I use a lot.
I love when jordan makes these types of videos cause no matter what topic it is he tells what what he did/ could have done differently then instantly give us advice on what to do differently. Been watching CaptainSparklez for i think 10 years now? Dont remember when its been a while but i wouldnt change it for the world. Keep up the great work! ❤❤
Man I legit grew up watching your tree house let’s play I mean seriously it was like an unreal dopamine rush, watching your content back now I see how wholesome and authentic you are as a man and I can’t help but think there’s a piece of you in me bro so respect for everything you’ve done and thank you for everything hopefully you see this and it resonates
Hey Jordan, have appreciated these latest vlog vids! I'm grateful you did experiment with other games over your career, as that's how I (and many others) got to meet you in the creator space! From the goofy GMOD era, to the Neck Twisters in Battle Royale (before PUBG, when it was just a mod!), we had a lot of great times, and tons of laughs. Thanks for always staying true to who you are!
Jordan has never rented or had a family member rent long term. I've witnessed too many family members be locked into the rental market, they can never save the money to buy a property. The main point he missed in "why do people buy houses?" One word: Stability. Imagine living in a rental it becomes your family home after 4 years then the landlord kicks you out or they are divesting the property. I've had one family be forced to move every year for about 3 years. Stability and security is what home ownership is at its absolute core.
I am in a similar situation now where I am growing and don't only want to do Minecraft videos. I'm glad you uploaded this since I am thinking the same way you did in the past, and I also suck at collabs since I'm an introvert. I only get invited to things rather than me inviting others. Thank you for your insight I will try my best to use it well :)
just _finally_ read up on all the heartbreaking adam drama so i wanted to check in on captainsparklez & see how he's doing. hearing "i was worried about other people's opinions of me" is like AWW, this is so sweet & i respect him as a creator (& as my childhood entertainer) so much.
bring back the ultra modded survival and music minecraft i enjoyed that a lot i still remember the left 4 dead minecraft and the skyblock man that was so cool to see and we are close in age i sitll play minecraft but you had the biggest impact on me becoming a minecraft youtuber. lets just say im proud to call you a minecraft youtuber
Cap, I love how open you are about how and who you are. I especially appreciate your explanation of your introvertedness. I relate, and I too struggle with thinking about what others think of me. I also understand how doing social things is very draining and often exhausting. I found this video enlightening and an opportunity to better understand one of my favorite Minecrafters. 💜 Still looking forward to any and all content you share.
As an adult now this video makes sense. Even though your fan base has grown up(I can speak on that I’m one of them) I’ll still drop by for a video. I’ve come to really enjoy the simple talks with the green screen.
You are the first channel i every subscribed to 11 years ago. Great content always, and I find myself coming back to all your channels to keep up with your life and it is very nostalgic
I've been following your channel for close to a decade now! Watching you and your channel grow and change in that time has been a pleasure to watch, and I'm glad to see you're doing well. :)
You have given me joy and comfort at so many stages in my life and showed me how far creativity and fun can go, I appreciate all you have done over the years.
You have bags under your eyes man, aint no one gonna be mad if you take a small break between vids to make yourself happy. A lot of your fans grew up watching your videos and are probably wondering how the hell you balance your time and relax at all. Fully committing to a game is not what made you special enough to watch for other people, its the variety, your chipper attitude and how you make your content. The fact youre out here makin videos saying all creators inner thoughts, and actually posting it is enough to make me continue lookin foreward to yer content in the future if you should upload, whether it be tomorrow or next year. We're all antisocial anxiety knots inside bwaha. Im social online, but in person im like you in this video, without the extraverted-ness to actually make one myself.
Super insightful video. From one creator to another, it's really cool to get some direct, honest, life advice and candid discussion from someone who has achieved so much.
I always enjoy checking up on the channel, lots of us are old lol busy with jobs, families, friends, kids, or further education, i personally don't mind if there's infrequent uploads, i honestly can't keep up with daily videos anymore. Happy Anniversary it's been a joy being on this journey with you and everyone else.
These videos from you are kinda why I have stuck around. I deeply appreciate content creators just talking honestly to the camera. Gameplay for me is kind of a secondary thing. I listen to most of my youtube videos while I do other things. I love the direction you going with the channel. its a clear reflection of the realisation that your audience is no longer 13 and closer to 20-21+
its really nice to see this change in content and feels like its aging well with your audience. you've built a lot of trust with your audience in the past 14 years and that shouldn't be underestimated :) also, I appreciate the more vulnerable side you've slowly been displaying.
This is like if your one cool uncle said hey your in your 20s now, here's some pretty good advice, especially that last bit. I will probably take this stuff to heart, I'm glad I discovered you all those years ago (holy crap it's been basically 11 years), I would probably be a different person without your content and the perspectives I've learned from you
20:12 rent is essentially giving money to someone else. And in California home ownership would be aweful. In Oklahoma- where I live, home ownership is way more advantageous than renting. Renting is literally the same price. It just comes down to your relationship with responsibility- and if you want a family
I feel a lot like the way jardon does here about things i do in my life. This really helps me rethink how others view me. Actually good advice. Jardon is very relatable with his introvertedness. Thank you for making this.
jordan you’re the reason i got into minecraft. i’m 24 now but a buddy and i who lived down the street would always watch you and we’d come home from school and play for hours. don’t feel bad about certain situations. you leaving minecraft was very sad but we can’t expect you to hold onto it forever. thank you for being one of the best minecraft creators. your old minecraft series HIT always worth a rewatch here and there.
I actually agree that for an individual home ownership is somewhat overrated, I see it as much more valuable as a long-term investment not for yourself but for your future family. If you stick it out and can keep up with the mortgage and other costs, you can leave a much more stable environment for your kids and their kids.
There are so many more channels and creators than there were before, it's goddamn impossible to keep up with them all when they're dropping videos daily. I'll gladly take a quality over quantity approach.
honestly loving the second channel lets plays, especially since i got to know your channel from your original survival lets plays. be you and that's enough. we are fans of you dude so do your thing and we will be here.
bro im a grown man now i used to watch you when i was like 8, 9, 10 years old, still remember the music videos word for word and if i ever be like remember the days we used to play minecraft and listen to captain sparklez and they dont know nothing they are no longer my friend will always remember you and keep watching you just a little busy got kids a family and job now im sorry bro
I’m not a UA-camr, but your thoughts are kind of relatable. Especially about wanting to succeed at something, and at the same time not wanting to be known only for it!
Please never stop doing videos like this. It's extremely interesting. I love these greenscreen one-on-ones lol. Can you do an updated gear video? Like filming equipment/microphone/etc. I've seen your older one but I feel like a lot of that has changed.
Im glad you are feeling a bit more free and a bit happier with your stuff now. You're still one of my favorite creators after all these years. Im glad to see you doing well for yourself. Overall you have very few regrets and thats something to be happy about/proud of. Love you Cap, glad you're still around. You've helped me sleep during some of my toughest times and im really grateful for you.
i dont think ive ever commented on one of your videos. I have been watching for years but really cant recall commenting.... While i initially almost turned your video off due to current struggles in real life and the immediate frustration that i felt of "his regrets are some of my goals." I didnt. You have valid points when viewed from a different perspective. One of "when i make it to my goals in life consider these pitfalls". I appreciate having grown up watching you and all you have accomplished, its a bit or a refresher to be able to see into a life on the other side of a personal finish line. It reminds me that though I struggle to obtain my goals, that they arent the end all be all of my life. There is more to be done and accomplish after i have finish the current marathon. Thank you for the renewed passion.
Been here for almost the entire time. I remember watching when you played the labyrinth map 13 years ago. Ironically I miss the days when youtubers made content that they enjoyed themselves. To many people now get so burnt out making content everyday and trying to beat the algorithm. I'm glad that you are getting back to it being a passion for you not so much a job.
You’ve been collaborating more creators in the recent years Cap, been watching the streams/vods for a long time and noticed a change in that. You’ve definitely been getting better at trying it
I’ve been watching your vids for probably around 9ish years give or take a year. I imagine it’s kinda weird to hear that this, but I’m moving into my first apartment right now. I’m 22 lol. I don’t know how old you were 9 years ago, but to think I’m currently as old as someone i looked up to so much then is super weird. Thanks for being awesome and I hope you have a great rest of your week:)
Its crazy, i'm a whole adult now but started watching as a young kid. Always gonna support what you do, regardless of how long you take a break or whatever
I may be a rare breed here, but i didnt start watching you until about a year ago, and i really only watch the greenscreen talks. i find value in your channel because you are real, you speak exactly how you feel, and you have years of experience on the platform. I can tell that when you have something on your mind, you want to share it and have a discussion, and that type of content is rare from people like you. I think you should keep sharing your thoughts, because the level of consideration and passion you bring to these videos is tangibly felt by us watching. Just keep doing you man.
At work im the "old uncle" that gives advice to all the younger kids I work with (im 29, they are about 16-17). And this video is exactly how I talk to them about regrets of mine. Appreciate the openness and honesty Captain! Thats part of whats kept me watching you for so long is your personality and openness.
I started watching you during Skyblock reloaded, right before the original survival series. I stopped around after Trollcraft. I'm 23 now, it's crazy how things have come full circle, and this is the content I'm interested in now.
I’ve literally been here the whole time, elementary, middle, and high school. College, moving three times. And of course, Covid. I will always be here, this channel and the memories it holds for me are something I’ll cherish forever. I’ll still be here regardless of the breaks you take. Enjoy life capn
personally im very glad you branched out a did other games over the years. always had fun seeing you do other games because i was here to watch you and not specifically minecraft.
I appreciate this level of honesty and wisdom, I have a new found respect for Sparkles Ill share any wisdom and regrets of my own for anyone who reads this. Its that being famous (especially for a introverted person) can be very difficult and is not what it seems. In my final year of highschool I auditioned for a popular National TV show and got the part for a two episode storyline, they liked me and kept me on as a regular actor for 5 years, I ended up doing something like 70 episodes, It was a strange time in my life as I went from being that small nerdy kid at school to being recognised everywhere id go, from shopping, meeting friends, going out for food or drinks, there were girls waiting outside the set and sometimes my house waiting for a glimpse of the cast. It was nice at first, the attention, the compliments and people wanting to be friends but after a while it became a bit burdensome being asked the same questions by people interrupting my day, people staring at me, whispering around me or following me. I decided not to pursue acting anymore as it was affecting my mental health, the acting went on from 15 to 21 and I've been recognised publicly to around 25 and I'm 29 now, I feel paranoid and nervous in public like people are still watching me and or judging me, its crippling, I spend all my time in my flat and struggle with anxiety when I do go out. Money, during my acting years I was on a good wage for my age around £35,000 a year (working 6 months of the year on the show). I was a saver and was very frugal, my family however were very poor and struggling with debt. I helped my parents with house payments and bills, I gave my father loans to keep his business running until I ran out of money and the business failed. In hindsight I now know that my family was taking advantage of me and shouldn't have put so much pressure on me to help but I was ashamed to be on TV viewed by 6 million people and have the bailiffs banging on my family door, It was like my whole neighbourhood was watching me crash and burn in the most public and embarrassing way. If in life you ever come into what you would call considerable money, be wise, do not give your money away foolishly, even with your own family. I regret ever auditioning for the show, it kind of derailed my education, my career prospects and chances at relationships and left me with mental health problems that I'm still trying to reconcile. Not to sound like a complete downer I do have a lot of good memories and experiences from my acting days that I cherish.
Loyal fan base from the og kiddos. Been around for 11 years man. I’m old and am limited on time. Rediscovered your channel and love the mc content even still :)
ive been watching the captain for the past 12 years since i was 10 years old and still enjoy his content at 22 years old. He is the only creator who is genuine and has brought me many memories over the years. WE LOVE YOU CAPTAIN
Actually wild to think I started watching this channel around 14 years ago, Life was simple back then. The “Mianite” series was legendary and I’ll never forget the story/journey of it all happening along with me maturing. Glad to see you’re still doing well, hope you find your peace.
My man is one of the most respected creators on UA-cam and still concerned bout people judging him.
That's one of the things that makes him so respectable. His humility/relatability
If Minecraft UA-camrs were superheroes, he would literally be Captain America. Not the most powerful, but the most respected.
He is probably the only respected creator tbh

@@walkermott1750 Markiplier is the other, I'd say
I think just most of your fanbase has grown in age compared to a lot of the "newgen" minecraft youtubers. So most of us dont mind not having like daily or even weekly videos.
I think a lot of us don't have the time for daily or even weekly uploads
I had the same thought :)
@@seanseal6265That's also a big part of it for sure.
Crap, I’m 3 episodes behind on deceased craft right now because I had a busy weekend and he happened to post.

would absolutely love more UA-cam/life retrospectives like this!! been actively watching for 13+ years, and you're one of the main reasons I started UA-cam, so I found a lot of value in this vid :-)
hi tempoo temprits
I mean depends really
Mc is less a game but more so a system but even then it gets old
But there is so many ways to play it
A lot of what you said resonated very strongly. Especially the part about worrying about locking into a particular game or niche and worrying about how others view you. It's something I've struggled with quite a bit, glad to see I'm not alone in feeling that way.
Thanks for being the GOAT 💜
Wow it’s you! Heya

You don't really need to be a great builder or redstoner, you just have to be funny and entertaining, which you certainly are.
i second this
i third this

Man I really hope you post more videos that are just commentary. I think people love just listening you talk about different things!
For the record Jordan, as a content creator who does play with other content creators on the reg, ive literally never met a single person who *wouldnt* want to collab with you lol. And not just because of your sub count. Youre a legend!
he could definitely spotlight some smaller creators
I loved the first EpicSMP where Swagger Souls was so eager to show Sparklez around his base like "You're a hero to most of the people here."

@@TheBcoolGuy eh i do happen to find people from any range of age (at least below 55 or around) that consumes a bunch of socia media, even at their job, and that's despite me living on a relatively poor country (Guatemala) that makes it harder to get into technology in overall… imo they just use technology & social media on a different way than us lol that's why you don't see much of them commenting on youtube videos but i'm pretty sure a lot of them do use this kind of platform in one way or another
(also not much people tend to just comment about their age that randomly, let's be honest)
@@Pinkio I meant on a CaptainSparklez video.
I still would not want to be a renter.
or too straight
@@TheBcoolGuy No one has ever gotten evicted because they were straight. C'mon. Sir. C'mon. By whom? Another straight person with some self-hatred?

Been here since pdts. Used to watch every upload as soon as it went live. Life, work etc etc gets in the way and found myself wacthing less frequently.
That being said, the fact its been a minute since your last episode is probably a bit part to why I stopped what i was watching and immediately clicked on it
I totally concur that youtube has shifted towards longer time between uploads, with much much higher production quality and/or content.
When you're subbed to 50-100 channels it gets old real quick if they're all releasing videos multiple times a day, everyday, or even every other day. Ya need some "videos happen when they happen" channels. 😊
Rookie numbers. I'm probably subbed to more than 10k ppl 😂
I have my daily upload guys (rslash and hellfreezer, sheep music, and xkito music) and then a bunch of guys that make specific days special. That way there's always something to watch while I wake up, and something to listen to while I do some chores
For me the subscription got capped at 1000... likes at 5k...
That was like 5 years ago and it's still like that.
@@JadoShiRS yeah, makes me wish there wasn't a cap but it makes sense in the long run to prevent too much overhead server side.
Nice to hear from you Captain.
I love the video that are more personal on this channel. They were always my favorite

A lot of your fans grew up watching your videos and are probably wondering how the hell you balance your time and relax at all.
Fully committing to a game is not what made you special enough to watch for other people, its the variety, your chipper attitude and how you make your content.

I will probably take this stuff to heart, I'm glad I discovered you all those years ago (holy crap it's been basically 11 years),
I would probably be a different person without your content and the perspectives I've learned from you
20:12 rent is essentially giving money to someone else.

Thank you for the renewed passion.
absolutely not complaining; always interesting and worthwhile to listen to a grand look back on your successes/failures
I’ve been here since you started man you were the best part of my day when you uploaded
There's a certain child hood happiness I get from watching your videos it's hard to find that feeling other places
Oh my god. When you mentioned fortress fury, a bunch of memories came back to me.
Thanks for making this video! Sharing regrets is one of the most helpful things you can do for other people.
I’ve literally been here the whole time, elementary, middle, and high school. College, moving three times. And of course, Covid. I will always be here, this channel and the memories it holds for me are something I’ll cherish forever. I’ll still be here regardless of the breaks you take. Enjoy life capn
personally im very glad you branched out a did other games over the years. always had fun seeing you do other games because i was here to watch you and not specifically minecraft.
another green screen vid to scare me 😂 i do love the life updates from cap though
I appreciate this level of honesty and wisdom, I have a new found respect for Sparkles
Ill share any wisdom and regrets of my own for anyone who reads this.
Happy almost Anniversary, Captain Sparklez, your one of the best content creators ever
Loyal fan base from the og kiddos. Been around for 11 years man. I’m old and am limited on time. Rediscovered your channel and love the mc content even still :)
As long as you are having fun. That’s all that matters. Happy you doing good
ive been watching the captain for the past 12 years since i was 10 years old and still enjoy his content at 22 years old.
