Tonsillitis is a very common feature especially among children. We have to remember that tonsils and adenoids are natural structures which take part in the immunity of a child between two and four years of age. Thereafter their purpose is served and they are not actively involved in the production of immunity in the child. So children getting tonsillitis in the small age is perfectly normal. It has to be treated as and when it happens and by and large after the age of four to five years they have no problem whatsoever and they continue with their lives without any problem. Having said that repetitive tonsillitis is not a good sign. Any child who's having three to four times or more tonsillar episodes of infection in a calendar year is a person who deserves to have the tonsil removed so that the infection doesn't spread to other parts of the body. It's not just a child losing school it's a question of the infection spreading to other parts of the body. Streptococcal infections which are pretty common can also cause infections spreading to other parts of the body. Vital organs such as the heart valves kidneys the joints Etc can have long standing and far-reaching complications which are severe and very threatening which is why the tonsils being removed is advocated in those children who have problems with tonsillitis. Now what to avoid to prevent it? If a child is eating uncooked improperly stored food there's a high risk of tonsillitis. If a person is eating food from any which place even in an adult it can cost on sliders having ice creams is not a problem but then ice creams which are not properly stored where a cold chain is not maintained from the factory to the customer is a high risk. So you need to be sure of what you're putting in your mouth to prevent the infection from happening. It's very important that you identify what you are using it is not just the ice cream that causes it but the repeated pouring and freezing the thawing and freezing that happens in the ice cream because of repeated power cuts is what causes the problem. So identifying the actual cause is there. So have ice creams by all means , it has got only milk and sugar and flavor and things like that which are not by themselves infective. The process of the thawing and the freezing allows bacterial infestation which stays dormant in the cold stage and then enters the body in the nice warmth of the body it multiplies and causes infections. So this is where you need to be careful about eating ice creams. You have a good source eat it by all means nothing will happen. But if you are somebody who's prone to having infections. Remember the cold reduces your immune status which is why you need to be careful if the source is good you will have no problems.
