This is the best quote of this episode: "What kind of arrogance does it take for somebody to think that they're going to navigate through life and never be offended?" This is, by far, the best quote.
Great story about PI in WWII. Some of my family lived through that, similarly, as well. It's unbelievable, literally beggars belief, what they did and lived through.
What a great interview. Kind of a break from everything going on with great content. Loved to hear that Kevin had some time in the Ed Parker American Kenpo system. I spent a lot of time in that system and nice to hear others that have been in it as well. One of my favorite Cleared Hot episodes.
"We're catering to the needs of a few", and "it's a breakdown of authority". I think you summed it up nicely with those two statements. We've gone from telling children what to do, and how to do it, to them telling us what they're going to do, and more importantly, not do. And it's absolutely flipping authority on its head. We can't seem to teach children the 'right' way to do anything, especially if their own parents feel that the moral way might be against their so called rights. I also think it's the entire reason this country is coming apart at the seams, and so many appear to have no respect for anyone else. What I can't decide on, is if the internet has caused all of this arrogance, boldness, and bravery by autonomy, empowering the constant spreading of misinformation or blatant lies, or if we've (mostly) been a shit show for decades and the internet just became the funnel to highlight it. Our future, my kids future, I worry about constantly now, I used to believe that by and large people are good, and good to each other, and will do the right thing when it comes down to it. But I can't say I truly believe that anymore. The "good" seem to be few and far between, while the tearing down of others has become the new normal. Time will tell, I suppose. Great podcast and guest. Thank you both.
Kevin is just a good dude. I wonder where he went to high school. I'm from CT, as well. I know Bristol Central well. My buddy battled Aaron Hernandez for top TE in the state our senior year and my best friend played with DJ, his brother, at UConn. Andy has a unique talent for finding super interesting individuals and then having a PHENOMENAL podcast once on. Good on ya, brother.
Followed Kevin for a little while on IG. Been looking forward to this episode since I heard about it. Did not disappoint. Great content as always, Andy. Thank you.
One of my fav teachers was a consistent substitute. He would sub English but never push us. He let us teach ourselves and have fun. But when he would say to us that we gotta take a test or quiz, everyone would try super hard to do well because we didn't want to lose the privilege to have him as a sub. This is in 2004 as well.
I appreciate you standing your ground Mr. Estela. More and more people are going to walk away from this dystopian nightmare being created..you are ahead of the curve. Just wondering if the flannel shirt is mandatory working for Mr. Glover, or did you merely wear your work dress to the interview?🙂
That was a damn good show! I'm glad I came back to listen yall some patriots! I usually skip episodes until another day but this podcast and then a few others like Mike ritland have helped me tremendously not only to keep my mind busy at work... but to learn and grow and build a better me! Take care brother Kevin and brother Andy!
Agreed. I teach at a technical school without a teaching background. It’s definitely a challenge, but I prioritize the critical thinking and life skills, and it’s rewarding really watching things click for the students that are truly hungry for it.
One year later I've come back to listen to this for a second time because besides the whole thing being great, I wanted to hear him say again how he would go on Alone and burn the competitors camps to the ground to win. 🤣
I saw a meth head in Kalispel. He was yelling at things on the street like garbage cans and street signs. . He tried to turn the garbage can over but it was anchored to the ground. He was even more pissed after that. He may have seen us laughing too, that didn’t help.
Regarding survivor show sabateur strategy. The new zealand survivor had a nz sas guy on it who when he got voted off the island went awol on the island lol
If Bryan Callen was a good friend to Andy, he would call him at an instant and tell him that he switched him out with a new prettier boyfriend. AND EDC is sooo important. ‚The principles of self defense‘ by jack cooper was really precious for me
43:43 i think the paradigm has changed. Before it was about accumulating knowledge because it was hard to find. Now it should be about filtering, choosing sources, etc. We have now an infinite library with no librarian. But i think the problem now is brillantly exposed in 52:30...
My favorite comment I have seen about astronaut Kim: Jesus this guy can't hold a job for shit. 2nd place is: he is so roof korean he is going to space.
After watching several youtube tutorials videos about trading I was still making losses until Mr Divine started managing my investment now I make $10,567 on weekly basis.
Bending over backwards with all effort to appease the .01% of schools ends up purging many good people / educators like Kevin. Same thing is happening in large corporations and USA military. Bad sht.
It all started when Corporal punishment was removed from schools !! Lack of respect and things just continued to spiral out of control !! Great podcast Andy !!! Possible guest Margaux Alvarez, wine maker & cross trainer??? Stay Strong and Be Safe !!!
Gender reassignment - i.e a biological girl who is transitioning to male wanting to be called Andy instead of Andrea - has nothing to do with wanting to be called Huckleberry Milkshake. I'm disappointed in the lack of understanding I'm seeing here :(

Or..."My strategy is saboteur." Haha
Morning, y'all! Keep going & have a wonderful week!
Great story about PI in WWII. Some of my family lived through that, similarly, as well. It's unbelievable, literally beggars belief, what they did and lived through.
He was even prepared not to lose his bottle cap. Great podcast! The FCS 72 hour challenges were really cool.
Great listen! Thank you Andy and Kevin.

Also from CT. I wish he was still here teaching our kids. I'm about to home school
Great job Andy and Kevin!

Kevin has so much knowledge & articulates himself so well. Great listen.
Took a survival class with Kevin earlier in the year, awesome guy and excellent teacher! If you get a chance to take a class with him do it!

Agreed.

You should try to get the A-10 pilot and the controller from the intro and outro on.
Great show I'll definitely be looking up the book

Kevin got me into Kifaru way back when. And back country hunting. Now he’s got me stuffing birch bark into my pack every time I pass some! 😂🤣😂
"This is my sandwhich bag bitches".
-Andy Stumpf, 2021
Crazy hearing his dad's story, which is basically identical to my grandmothers during WW2 in Italy. She survived the bombing of Monte Cassino.
Damn good show. Kinda reminds me of papa stumpf
May be different in the state you reside but here in Texas it’s encouraged to harvest those Eurasian collared doves whenever possible.
you should have kevin's dad on the podcast
I see that sub count is on the rise Andy. Good for you 🤙🏼
24 hour clone. Awesome!
Marvin Boggs is my spirit animal.

Also agree with Kevin with what Andy asks right around 1:08:30...ish. Give or take.
Been putting this one off for a while , sorry I did.
Andy needs to listen to Dan Carlin's 'Wrath of the Khans'
Sir, we ALL need to listen to some Dan Carlin.
I must admit, I like the taste of Iodine tabs in the purified water I drink.

Investing in crypto is the best way to earn financial freedom.
Without doubt crypto is so money making
This is the kind of information that we don’t get from most youtubers..
I could invest in Crypto but always got confused by it’s volatility in nature
After watching several youtube tutorials videos about trading I was still making losses until Mr Divine started managing my investment now I make $10,567 on weekly basis.
Trading crypto with Stones is life changing moves
RED PEN is so threatening that if we have to go back to Afghan all we need is a shit load of red biros an the taliban would fold 😂

So is debate not a thing in high school anymore or does everyone just agree with each other at debate now ? Lol

Yo Andy.. in the industry it’s referred to as “quant” not “quantitative”
Bro the intro... terrible
You challenge your underwear?
