And if i lose a customer? Then oh well! I know how long it takes me to draw and finalize a design. And i make it just for me, i love what i do lol

    Always on time! On my to- do list for today for my business. I have learned over the last year that my time is worth the money. Like you said “take it or leave it”. I starting making custom mask( vinyl, sublimation and embroidery) and it definitely takes time to come up with a quality product. If you want it “your way” then you gotta pay. Just my thoughts.
    Thanks again for dope video 💜💜💜!

    i don't know if im messed up. but I mark up high because of shipping or maybe I gotta use supacolor or another transfer company. that's money out my pocket. so its like 2$ a shirt, that means 20$. the transfer usually gonna be expensive unless they gonna order a lot. so that's 20$ for a sheet ima gang up cause they might need the same design later. so one shirt already is 40$. then I add 10$ just so I get a good margin. 2$ a shirt and sometimes I'll just use transfer sheets which is like 20$ for like 10-15 sheets.. that takes time.. if its just a one hit color htv then I just charge 30. and I'm using a cricut joy for that small order lol either way I don't know prices either. but the
    200% mindset will help people understand money made and profit.

    What up Big Brandoh! I have a design i need to quote and im not sure about the number of colors. The design has multiple shades of green. I dont know if each shade will be its own color. I asked for a quote from a screen shop and he mentioned half tones. I have yet to learn about half tones. Maybe this can be a yopic for a video. Thanks for the knowledge!!

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  3 роки тому +1

      i probably wont be making that vid cuz i dont do too many halftone screen prints. i mostly use transfers. in my experience of doing half tones it has to be set up in your artwork. i know some screen print shops have a software called accurip that helps with this process but its not a process im very familiar with.

    I keep having to raise my prices. I've gone from $16 - 20 to $18 to 25. My labor is still undervalued but I don't count learning how to do something. There's alot of competition here but I'm able to stand out so far. I had one customer ask if I can beat $10 per shirt for ten shirts & I turned it down.

    If i base my price on samples i made, should i make custom prices for custom items ?

  • @onespeedlite
    @onespeedlite 3 роки тому

    As a seller, you can charge any price you want, but the question is will you get paid for it. Ultimately, the price customers are willing to pay depends on the demand for your work, not the amount of time it takes for you to produce it. Buyers don't really care about that, because the level of your competency, efficiency, or ability to source your materials at low prices is your problem and not theirs. No one is going to pay a mechanic more money, because he takes 3 hours instead of 1 hour to complete a tune-up.
    The key is to NOT to make what you sell a commodity. A commodity is something that you can get anywhere else. In this case, the only way to beat the competition is to lower your price- it's a race to the bottom. You want to avoid that. What you want instead is to differentiate yourself from the competition. You want to offer something unique that no one else has, and because of that (and through skillful marketing), you are able to command a much higher price. There's where your level of creativity, talents, customer service, and offerings make the difference. Again, buyers don't care about what you think your time is worth. It's what they think your product, service, or prestige is worth to them. A talented painter might spend a week to complete an art piece on canvas and get $500 for it. Picasso does 30 second sketch on a piece of white paper and he commanded thousands.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  3 роки тому +1

      sure. if that logic works for you cool. i know my value, i know what my time is worth and i also know the quality of my work. i personally would disagree with your logic. but if it works for you, keep at it. lots of different ways to make money.

    Your advice on labor time is good cause even when i cook something for the 1st time from a recipe that says it take 30 mins but it takes me 2 or 3 hours cause i don't have everything set up like they did in their recipe.. So basically your recipe won't take me the same time to complete as your recipe... Thank you for your advice!!!

    Quick Question! I decided to go with Supacolor for my designs, until I realized that they only let you do 1 design per sheet. I had 3 different text/logos for each blank in both black and white. While maintaining quality do I have any other option other than ordering 10 separated design sheets at a minimum or 20 per design? Feeling like that a lot of capital upfront. Much appreciated!
