Shiba, this company just wants to sale. As soon as you go into the website, there is already a representative trying to sale you something but their customer service is for SHIT. Good products though but their customer service takes forever to get help or an answer

SPEAKER INFO: Amcrest is a very good system, I have a complete surveillance kit of 20 cameras and they are very good. Sadly, Amcrest just wants to sell and their product or customer support is piece of crap. You have to wait days for an answer, so based on experience this is what I found about the external speaker, which they dont mention on this video:
    1) If you are going to add a speaker to your camera, it has to be a speaker with integrated volume with a power source or the speaker needs to be connected to a receiver that regulates the volume in order to hear the output sound.
    2) If you connect a speaker directly to the camera inlet, your output sound is going to be minimal. It is not going to be loud enough for the person to hear you through the speaker.
    3) DO NOT place the mic and the speaker close to each other, the closeness will create an echo on your two way conversation.
    4) Have some space between the mic and the speaker and regulate the volume in order to avoid any echos by having them close together.

After several years of good use of couple similar foscams, we got an amcrest outdoor cam and like it. Their instructions with it woefully inadequate and so bad we never figured out how to use the added plugs or what they call dongles. This lack of clear drawings and printed steps how to use them stopped us getting more cams from this maker. They seem to have a good product yet amazingly lack ability to explain how to use them. Might try getting one of their big heavy optical zoom cameras if can make sense out this confusing video.

I don't see any information about the Power supply source (It doesn't include in the box), Voltage?, Amp?, polarity? Can you give me more about this? Thanks

The dongles are great for those that want to customize their installation. But why no built in mic? Many other brands have at least a mic built in. I have an Amcrest nvr and several Amcrest cams and love them. But limited options with built in mics is disappointing especially in the 4k outdoor cameras.

My Amcrest cameras are plugged into an electrical outlet for their power source. Will an external microphone and speaker plugged into the appropriate RC cable on the dongle also require individual power sources or will they run off the camera's power supply?

Mike, I'll try to help answering that. I have AMCREST system in my house, works excellent, but hell will freeze over before Amcrest even provided and assistance or help. I have a system where ONLY the Mic needs to have its own power source, the RCA cables does not provide power to the mic. I have a small extension speaker that I connected to the camera audio out and it works without an individual power. Only reason why I came to see the video is to learn how to control the volume, but like I said, Amcrest mission is only to SALE, not help. Hope this helps out.
