Hey Blake! Outstanding review...... and thanks so much for featuring them in your VCS CrossRoads! One little point that I wanted to mention, the Fishman Fluence kit comes with a 9vt battery connector for a standard 9vt battery........ we installed the optional "UNIVERSAL RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK (PRO-BPK-101)" and that added about $100 to the price that you showed. Great video brother...... keep 'em coming!!!!
Thank you. I love that guitar! Great point! Thank you for sharing. I’ll pin this so people know about that added price for the rechargeable battery option.
This is exactly how to demo pickups! The playing examples are great but what really makes it is the verbal feedback on your experience as a player. So many of these are just a play through where the player almost doesn't want to describe what they're getting back from the instrument and the tones all blur together. In the end, the subjective is the thing we're looking for. Also, knowing your thought process based on what you're hearing and feeling in real time is informative.
Niiiiice review! Almost every youtuber didn't get good tone with fluence. I was giving up to buy this pickups, but your review really made my mind. Nice tones!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. Do you have a set yet? Or are you looking into getting some? I’m really excited about trying out the rest of the Fluence Classic line.
Thank you so much! I will definitely make this happen as soon as I can. I even have a guitar that I have in mind to put them in. What pick ups are you using right now?
Thank you. I love that guitar. Still my main ride. You should check them out Vinciguerra Custom Shop Guitars out of FL. This body style is called the “Crossroads”.
Ok, 1st comment 1 minute in to video. This comment 35min later...completely baked AND THE GREATEST DEMO IVE EVER SEEN. All in, unreal. As a lifelong metal player listening to you is palate cleansing. Truly gifted. The quick back and forth for the benefit of immediate comparison between voices masterful. Nearly as masterful as your barber. Stay young brutha, thank you for this PROPERLY done demo. Pay attention every human who did, does or will do pickup demos...this is how it is done.
I just ordered this set to go on my homebuilt 24 fret neck-thru SG shape body, along with a Bigsby. Should be sweet! Thanks for the long but very thorough review amigo! Great playing, btw. Kept me interested!!! Peace!!!😊
Cool video, I'd have liked to hear a few sounds where the tone knob is used. I've been watching a lot of demos of Fluence stuff lately and I've yet to hear one example of what effect the tone knob will have on things...
Sounds great! Very helpful demo. This is the best demo of these pickups I've seen. Are they hum-canceling in single-coil mode? My understanding is that they are not. Thank you!
Thank you so much. That means a lot; especially considering the other videos that I have seen. I have noticed a little bit of hum in single coil mode (only playing certain venues). if I’m being honest though, my humbuckers even make some noise at those venues. I know that the single coil sets of pick ups are supposed to be completely silent. I have yet to test them out in real world settings though. What pick ups are you using right now?
@@BlakeHallMusic I'm using passive pickups - Lollar El Rayo humbuckers which I love. I'm thinking of getting a strat and doing HSS with the Fishman Fluence pickups. Thank again!
How do they do with fuzz pedals? I have a few silicon fuzzes and even my EMGs do volume roll off pretty damn well. Do these as well? Awesome video! TIA!
@@chriswilliams4390 cheers. I'm about to get a Charvel style 2 with these pick ups. Fuzz was one of the doubts I had... the other was how natural the coil split is compared to a true single coil... especially on clean tones. Still searching for that answer 🙂
Very good video and probably the best demo showing off the versatility of these pickups. Seems like you would love trying out the Greg Koch P90 set as well for tones in this same range. Been thinking of reinstalling the Classics as falling in love with the Fishman P90s and your video pretty much put me over in the other side of the fence.
Also, I skipped around so might have missed you mentioning this but did not hear it. The Bridge Voice 2 is intentionally very close to a Seymour Duncan JB. This is notable for me as the Barke Knuckle Holy Diver has been my favorite pickup so far, and it is also a close recreation of the JB with more clarity and less fizzyness/fuzziness.
Great review. What do you think of the dynamics when you play the single coils? Do you feel the life of the tone like in a true single coil? . I'm thinking of ordering the Charvel style 2 with these pickups and still looking for this answer. Cheers
I just bought a Charvel So Cal Pro Mod 2 (tremolo) couple weeks ago and I’m loving it. It’s definitely a bit of a different vibe than my tele, but it can get most of the same sounds out of this Charvel. On my tele I play a lot of bright twinkly math rocky riffs and Johnny Marr style stuff in middle position position and this Charvel sounds great for that as well. Not to mention that it’s the most comfortable guitar I’ve ever played. You can play pretty much any genre on it. There are so many sounds you can get out of this thing.
I've had one for almost 2 years. The pickups are why I got it and like the other poster below said most comfortable guitar I've ever played. Voice one into a Rams head is a beautiful sound none of my other guitars can do.
There is the ability to trigger voice 3 while keeping both coils active and the same volume as the humber voicings. I'm in the process of wiring this up myself, so I'm not sure how good the results will be. But the option is at least there to try.
The playing is impeccable. But are we supposed to understand something about the comparison??? 3 different guitars through a dense mix.. How is it possible to distinguish any difference???

That was a great demo. I’m actually putting some of these in my Jim Root Tele and I could not be more excited
That's the best pickup demo I ever watched!
The second position reminds me of the original PRS pickups, all midrange. It was…limiting as THE pickup in the guitar, but works great as 1 of 3
Niiiiice review! Almost every youtuber didn't get good tone with fluence. I was giving up to buy this pickups, but your review really made my mind. Nice tones!
Oh, Leon Todd did it amazing! But most of the tones were high gain. Neither fishman itself did a good review.
Best demo of this PU's on YT I have ever seen... Great job Man

Yes, please demo the strat pickups!

Awesome presentation of the wealth of sounds, these PU's generate!!! This blue custom shop guitar is also so sweet!!!
Just bought these thanks to your video! amazing stuff man!!
Great review and super nice sounds!
Looking at your guitar I can't believe how much upper fret access you have there. Such a great design/shape 👍

Excellent Blake! Do the Gregg Koch Tele & P90's! 😃
Thank you. I would love to. If I can get my paws on one I will.
Ok so this video is fantastic. Would also love to see you do the p90s!
Totally baked...and for that we celebrate you. This set and the emg super 70's are the perfect pickups, different from each other yet both perfect.

I just watched another video and they used these with germanium fuzz with no issues whatsoever; they even cleaned up. Silicon should be no prob!

@@mellowmonsoon278 They work well with every fuzz I have and I have a lot. My favorite is the Wren and Cuff Caprid. It rips
When in single coil mode and both pickups on, do the neck and bridge work together as if one is RWRP with hum cancelling?
They are set that way by default, but say if you wanted a single coil in the middle for HSH, you can change how the coil splitting works too

What happens if you pull both pots out does it self destruct?
great demo of all 3 voices, can I ask what youre using for the vibe sound, sounds cool
Thank you so much. I appreciate that. And the modulation that I’m using in this video is harmonic tremolo from the Strymon Flint.
@@BlakeHallMusic nice. it sounded like a vibe, its a very similar sound
I would prefer the single coils with even output similar to voice 1, i feel voice 3 output is too low

Those pickups are black open with metal housing? Looks like duesenberg bridge PUs
They look like normal uncovered pick ups. We just ended up putting beauty rings around them. they don’t normally have that ring.
@@BlakeHallMusicWhere did you get the beauty ring?
@@mwc6849 I want to know too!

how cool would it be if you could boost your signal and bump mids without using your hands.. oh,.wait..

good playing - usless watch the high gain metal reviews of these as impossible to hear a god difference
