Excellent tips! Key to getting proficient is always putting in the time at a skill, metal detecting is no different. Ive only been detecting for a little over a year, but have put in close to 300 hrs and have a lot of great stuff to show for it. That doesn't mean I get something great every time, but for me, If i come home with a finds bag with $4-5 dollars of clad in it, thats a win.
💥💥Keeping the coil flat: I call this, “sweeping the carpet.” This is the most important metal detecting technique there is. No matter what machine you have, keep that coil as close to the ground as you can at all times. Let's make it simple. Take your metal detector into the house and put your coil on the carpet. Don't lift your coil at all. Just sweep it from side to side without lifting it off of the carpet. You're not lifting, you're sweeping across the carpet. This is how close to the ground you want to be in a perfect world. But, the world of detecting is not so perfect. Keep your coil as close to the ground as you can at all times. Practice this. Get it right.
Excellent tips, all detectorist need a little refresher now and again . Lol just got out of jail this morning, In an abusive relationship with UA-cam/Facebook community standards =D
The kind of videos I like. I've been doing this for a while now....but can never learn too much from the people that have been doing it for decades...js
Yeah, been detecting for a few months, lots of trash. Finds container, I use an old prescription bottle and remove the child safety on it. My best find so far is an 1884 dime.
Great advice. I run a utility pouch for finds. I Always put all found coins in my change pocket
Right on. Thanks for watching!
One of the best videos for metal detecting beginners. Been hunting for a year and this was very helpful, field tested
Glad to hear! Happy hunting!
Great tips, thanks for sharing! I would also have a spare battery just in case I loose power in the middle of my detector outing.
Yes! Great advice if you're running a non-rechargeable machine.
