Derek was honest about what his fighter lacking after the fight unlike others be saying they were amazing or great. It's good to say the pros and cons. Great coach.

Yeah I liked that too. Being realistic and being honest about improving weaknesses is a good sign of a good team.
Too many yes men or predators that just want a piece of the action from kids like Ryan. I think Derek is not trying to sell you anything. He's a real trainer in that his focus is on observing his fighter and understaning and schooling him accordingly. They can definitely build on this. Derek told him what to do and when he did it he got results. And that's just in that last round.

I dont think DJ is overrated i just think his stable grew to quickly to give 100% attention to all his fighters

@@joel8692 He was not losing. And his trainer told him to use his legs. To set up punches. Duarte needs to be set to get off. The strategy was don't let him set his feet. Get him to chase you and he said it will open up punches. His trainer literally told him that in his corner right before it happened.

I think he's young enough to improve the health, handspeed and somewhat experience is there. But he doesn't fight enough and rolly vs Ryan needs to be next . Ryan will finally fight someone who hits hard and will force u to fight . After rolly I think the next thing should be a josh Taylor. Because Ryan now has to face a boxer. Then we get to see teo and Ryan. But I think Haney and tank are gonna be the ones who are gonna wipe the division. I think tank probably beats them all. He has too much power and it lasts throughout 12 rounds.

The Ryan Garcia version we saw vs Oscar Duarte was a new and improved Ryan Garcia. Not 100% on his defense but getting better. Chin tucked, using the jab, stick and move, foot work and not to mention phill shell 😅 wasn't all perfect but is improving. Overall, Ryan Garcia vs Rolly should be fun to watch. It will be like Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley.
Derrick James did a good job with Ryan. Hopefully Ryan sticks with him and also mentally stays healthy.

His chin is always exposed and duarte was tagging him all fight and if he had more power he would of def stopped Ryan. He had Ryan running for 3 rounds . I've seen Ryan training with James in the ring and I thought he improved but as soon as the fight started he didn't do anything that I saw him do in training.
