Thank you so much for this video! I have only flown once with JetBlue but they’re expensive this time for our trip to Disney this year. I just booked Southwest for August from NY to Orlando!
✈️ so helpful! We have only flown frontier so far and been lucky, but the nickle and diming is getting old. We're looking at Spirit and Southwest for our trip next summer!
We use to fly Southwest but now they don’t offer nonstop very often to Orlando, plus hubby would rather pick his seat in advance. We’ve been flying JetBlue lately because they seem to have bigger seats.
Love the advice! I always fly Delta because of all the horror stories you hear on the cheaper airlines, might have to save some money in the future and fly someone else! ✈️✈️

We fly spirit to Orlando all the time! We have found their service to better than frontiers as well. I learned the Frontier gate agents get a bonus for every oversize personal item they catch.

✈️ Southwest tip: if you have older kids who no longer qualify for pre boarding, set an alarm to check in as soon as it’s available (24 hours before the flight). You’ll usually get the “A” or start of the “B” boarding group. There will still be plenty of seats together, in the middle or towards the back of the plane. Or just buy the early bird thing so you know you’ll be in the A group.

✈️ heading to Florida to visit the first week of April on spirit! So far I’ve liked them for traveling with my 3 year old!
I really like Jet Blue because I can choose my seat and have early boarding as a senior with disability . But this last September I had to fly home from Florida on emergency. Southwest had a seat for me took good care of my needs and even though I had to make a transfer it was smooth and easy. I didn’t have a second bag and Southwest let me give them my Disney goodies jam packed backpack . Enjoyed your vlog
✈ We love Southwest. In fact we drive the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to Nashville or the 2 hour drive to Birmingham just so we can fly southwest. Our closest airport (an hour away) doesn't fly southwest but we usually get really good deals on southwest to make the 2 hour drive worth it.
Frontier is THE worst was stranded in what was suppose to be a 2 hr layover which turned into a 2 day layover!! The customer service doesn't care about you! Always had good experiences with spirit im with you spirit has always been good to me.
Oh my goodness now that is a horror story! I'm so sorry that happened. :(

🛫 loved this video! We are a Spirit flying family too but I’ve always bought seats because I’ve been afraid I’d be separated from the kids! (We don’t share the same last name) fingers crossed they keep us together for our April flight because it’s the first time I haven’t purchased our seats!
Southwest now has their companion pass (free plus one), which is a really good deal if you're able to apply for their credit card.
Thank you for the I’m from the uk but we are flying to Chicago for 4 nights then an internal flight down to Orlando (not booked yet) so we do a cruise then onto WDW . I’ve never heard of southwest but just priced up as we have plenty of luggage and they work out $ 10 more than frontier . I can pack all I want and not worry about. Such a relief 😊😊
I pretty much exclusively fly Southwest to Orlando and have never flown Spirit. I’ve never seen the insanely cheap prices out of Indianapolis that you get out of Nashville!
✈️ I love south West as well but unfortunately to get to that airline I have to drive to Philadelphia 🙃 SO I have adopted Allegiant as my new budget airline to get us to Disney and so far 🤞🏼 it’s been ok. We will see again in June! Can’t wait 🎉

So we book on spirit and then next day the flight went in half. I message spirit and haven’t heard back yet. But we fly spirit all the time. On flight in May just got moved from 10am flight to a 5am flight so now we will be at Disney at 9:30am. Going to use the day for rest and swim u til our room is ready. I love flying Southwest! Tried them recently and honestly love them more than United. They’re about the same price for me except bags, and preferred and economy plus seating are so overpriced on United.
I hate that Frontier has gotten so bad. I’ve been flying with them since 2017 and used to rave about them and it’s like in the past year and a half they have just become so Nickel and dime and crazy about the bags and seats. The gate agents are so rude too now! My husband and I never used to get separated and now it’s every time. I wish we could take southwest more but they don’t have many non-stops from our area.

✈just as an FYI - I often fly American since that's the only airline in my local airport and they frequently change flight times after you've booked. I've never seen an option for me to go back in and revise my flight but maybe I should look!

I love southwest! I have no feelings about frontier but will never fly spirit again. My flight got cancelled and they offered nothing in return. Other than to rebook a week later.

Regarding Southwest... they don't allow their tickets to be sold on any third party websites, which is probably why Hopper can't track them. You have to buy tickets from them directly or you don't get them at all. It's a thing they do that other American-based airlines really don't, which is my only concern when I'm shopping and wanting to compare prices. ✈️

This video was super helpful and put me at ease regarding my upcoming flight with Spirit. I decided to not purchase seats to save a little money so glad to hear they are accommodating when traveling solo with a young child. I am going to he doing a checked bag. Have you ever had any problems with your luggage getting lost with Spirit?

I've heard good things about Breeze airline. Unfortunately, they don't fly out of Indpls.
The first time I flew Spirit was from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. I just remember the lady next to me refusing to get off her phone, I think she was getting broken up with, she was losing her shit. This was all in Spanish, mine isn’t that good lol. But I just remember being like, if only I bought a seat I wouldn’t be in this one lol. I love Southwest, I flew them home from Cuba! Completely unrelated but I love your mannerisms lol what is your zodiac sign?

I'm a Southwest gal, too! I took advantage of the recent sale. Since I'm technically challenged😂 I called SW and had them change it for me. We now have a credit. When I go to use that, do you know how I book it? We paid cash and they said it would be under our current confirmation number.😵 Not sure how to do that. Thanks for this video. So once your kids are older Southwest maybe a problem bc you might not sit together. I don't fly southwest bc of that!
I was going to say this too. When you can’t preboard, buying that early bird option makes sure you get into the “A” boarding group so you can find good seats together (towards front with a window for my son). Boarding at C group means you have to take whatever is left.
Do you know if the Stoney clover tote could pass for a personal item if squished or the classic duffle?
The tote would fit if you don't over stuff it. I don't believe the duffle would.

I’m always tempted to book with southwest but I rather pick my seat before I get there when I’m traveling with my kids just for that peace of mind of them not separating us. You mentioned family boarding for children as long as they are under the age of 6. So they could potentially split you from the kids if I’m traveling as a solo mom with my 7 yr old and 5 yr old? 😧 (bc my daughter is 7)
I’ve heard negative things about Spirit, but I’ve always had a good experience with them and United.

So with Southwest they don’t book your seats for you, you get on the plane and find your own seating of your choice. Even if you aren’t utilizing family boarding, you can login 24 hours before your flight, check in to your flight and get a boarding group that allows you on the plane in accordance to your group letter and number. So for example, Ashley mentioned group A and B in the video. Each group has about ~50 I believe numbers in each letter group. So if you login and check in to your flight and get group A25 for example, you board with groups A15-30. This is why checking in exactly 24 hours before your flight is important to get a boarding group early. There’ll still be plenty of seats if you’re boarding group B, but it’ll likely be in the back of the plane. Plus, if there’s only like 2 seats available together, I’m sure a flight attendant can help get you to sit with your children.
