you say the same as my music teacher just told me: a good musician makes a cheap instrument to sound like an expensive one, and a bad musician makes an expensive instrument sound like a cheap one! and your HB guitar sounds amazing because you are a GREAT musician
I can't agree more, well said 👍👍
Amen!
HB are great guitars. The player can rock.
At the end of the day., we need a good amp
well said !!!! best comment , Jimi Hendrix play a Jackson , will also sounds amazing
You're such a peaceful person and that's the reason you're always welcome here on my living room television. Great playing, wonderful presentations Jonathan. Hope you're feeling better.
Thank you brother...for welcoming me to your living room...where's my drink? LOL🤓✌
Awesome. One moment you're this gentle soft-spoken guy, and the next minute you're a BEAST on the guitar! \m/
Lol... ✌️❤️
I'm 53 years old and just started on my guitar journey after 30 years first picking up a guitar. I bought a Harley Benton DC 580 , and although it's not a premium guitar, I was blown away by its quality and sound for the price. Just ordered a DC Custom which I know is very similar, but of higher spec. Cant wait to play it. In this day and age, especially for the beginner ( like me) , there's no reason to spend thousands on something you can get along with and make great sounds.
I love your reasoning for liking Harley Benton guitars, they do what you want, they feel great, and they sound great. I know this comment is two years after your video but it's still very relevant. Thank you for not being a brand snob, and thank you for this video. Happy Christmas to you, your family, and your followers. Huge thumbs up for a very honest review of budget guitars. 👍👍👍☮☮☮
Thank you so much Tim! And may you and your family have a a blessed Christmas and a wonderful new year!! ❤️
I'm 6 HB's (13 guitars in total) in and I am yet to be disappointed, they are fantastic instruments! PS your videos are great, love to hear someone who love the instrument talk about it 🙂
Thank you for your encouragement brother ✌️🤓
Jonathan yourplaying isoutofthisworld is there any way you could do a video on the way you are getting your sound I love what I’m hearing keep it coming please thanks a million Buffalo bob.
Variety and quality for a fair price. What better way is there to try different bodies and pickup configurations than HBs? Enjoy!
Exactly brother ✌️🤓
You present really useful information without gimmicks but illustrated with superbly tasteful guitar playing - and similarly, your music is free from gimmicks and exhibits real artistry. Thanks!
Thank you Lawrence! You are so kind :)
You are absolutely right. I've played guitar for more than 20 years from classical and own more than 20 Harley Benton guitars as well as some other guitars like Fender, Gibson etc. It doesn't matter how much the guitar costs but how clever the person plays it and produces great notes. I admire you... Thanks...
Thank you Tommy✌️❤️
I love everything you do in this channel, Jon. It is amazing to see a musician of your calibre talking about and actually playing such affordable guitars that even I can buy. Thank you, Sir :)
Zs
Glad you enjoy it!✌❤
Jonathan that was so well said. The tone of the HB, the art of the HB and the personality of the HB makes each one special and separates all HBs from YOUR HB. Their economy allows us to indulge ourselves to a point beyond where any other manufacturer even comes close.
Yes... But you know.. Snobs will be Snobs. They will always think the HB are cheap sounding guitars no matter what their ears tell them lol😆
I saw the Harley Benton Fusion-T HH HT LH EB BK (Fusion Tele) for the first time last night and fell in love.
lol✌♥
You’re soloing blows my mind it’s magnificent. I wasn’t expecting that from an acoustic review
Glad you liked it!
Love your passion for the instrument. I only own 1 guitar for 19 years, MIM strat.
And plays with it with worn fret, have change all the pots, adding Treble Bleed n orange caps for the tone pots.
What u said is true, how it makes u wanna grab n play it 🤘
Agree 100%. I have 7 guitars. A couple Fenders, and an Ibanez, and a project. Besides my 3 Harley Bentons. They are all great guitars, but the mods I usually wind up doing are the same no matter who or how much the guitar costs. And the things I change to make it my guitar, are usually things I can do or learn to do. H/Bs are good, affordable guitars. Thanks for the great videos!
You’re most welcome!!✌️❤️
You're not the only one... They're very well-made, they sound good with their stock pickups and they have an attention to detail you would usually never find in that price range...
I own 149 guitars and I design, build and repair guitars for a living and my collection includes many high-end and vintage guitars but...I just LOVE Harley Bentons...I have bought 7 so far and they're all excellent... Of course they can always be upgraded here and there but as is they're great...
✌💜
I'm with you Jonathan. My favourite guitars are the ones I've modded and made my own. I've bonded with them. I bought my first Harley Benton recently. It's a JB-40FL 3-Tone Sunburst fretless Jazz style bass. Great build quality. The most outstanding feature of this bass the Blackwood (Pinus Radiata) fretboard. It's similar to rosewood in colour but it's hard with a tight grain like ebony !! On a bass that costs 148 euro. Crazy. Thanks for the usual great content.
Cool!!! never tried a fretboard like that!! cant wait!🤓✌
I love your choice in pauses! Wow what a blast listening to your playing!
Thanks so much!✌️❤️
Great video! That playing you did with each guitar was kick ass! I just discovered your channel a week ago and trying to catch up. The way you play is so much the flavor I love with some of the bests tricks I've seen. The fact that you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers is baffling to me. More people need to hear you. Thanks for all the great videos!
You are most kind...✌♥

What pickups are a good replacement for the st62 strat? The roswells are dull and lack chime I think. Any cheap options?
Hi Jonathan. I currently own 15 guitars in total, only four are non-HB. I’ve modified all HBs, because IMHO that’s what an HB is all about. I learned to work a guitar from the inside out with HBs, because I’m not worried about the price, so i can go terribly wrong and start over (but never happened 😉) . If i may present a generic suggestion, and keeping things cheap: shielding with 2-side copper or aluminum tape, buying a set of Vanson pickups from EBay, oil the arm, polish the frets, and little other things with tuner heads and nut. And will have no regrets whatsoever.
Great practical advices... Thanks 🤓✌️
Impressive. You have got the Harley Benton fever and i can completely understand it. You must have almost every model. I love it. I have the CST-24T, SC-Custom, TE-90 FLT, and TE-70 Black Paisley. Such fun at a reasonable price.
The Hound Lol, quite far from it. I started this because i wanted to build a guitar wall, but then i had the bug and started tinkering too. HBs are excellent templates, and that’s how i see them. 👍😎
I love your playing and no nonsense approach. Thanks for explaining your approach to gear.
Brilliant guitar licks!
Thank you for your encouragement! 🤓✌
I just ordered the black paisley TE-70 just like yours yesterday, now for the long wait to get it! Can't wait.
David Regnier enjoy yourself!!✌️❤️
My Paisley TE-70 (and my buddy went in to save shipping has a bass coming too) have left Thomann and are on the way to the USA!! I can't wait to become a member of the Harley Benton family
I am Groot! Cool✌️❤️
Update: I just got my Harley Benton TE-70 Black Paisley yesterday and I'm blown away with the condition it came in. They are actually playable right out of the box! I kid you not. So after the excitement period, (which took me 3 hours of playing it) I decided to check it over in more depth just to see just how close to perfect is actually is. The intonation was close. I think I actually adjusted one screw which was only off by very little. The action was almost perfect. I lowered the action at the saddles a small amount, but now by much. Everything else is perfect. I don't see the need to change anything on it. The pickups sound great. The switches work perfect. The nut was cut very well too. I recommend Thomann to anyone who is looking at adding to their collection. They are very well made instruments and the quality control of the Harley Bentons at Thomann is top notch! I will be a repeat customer.
I’m glad you got a winner there ✌️❤️
I bought two last week and cannot wait to get them. SC-Custom Honey Flame and a Custom Line CLA-15MCE VS. I have not bought a new guitar in over 10 years. Pretty excited.
Cool!! You're gonna enjoy them ✌️🤓
Haha... Ive never once... Not ONCE... wondered why you were choosing Harley Bentons. I already know.
Ive been playing for a long time and ive thrown a lot of cash at guitars over the years.
Gibsons, Fenders, Heritage.
What it took me years to learn is that dollars dont equate to tone or feel or playing better.
There is no better feeling than when you buy something for very little and it rips.
Even if you have to do a few mods to make it "exactly" right....youve only spent 500 bucks on a great instrument...not $2000+.
To me its like the judge dismissing your parking ticket...getting something for free...and even better that it suits you perfectly.
Great video.
Thanks!
golly gee...i'm so glad I'm not alone!!! 😄✌
Right!! I own 3 now and will buy some more, actually like to have all their models lol
I agree. I built a Tele style kit guitar, never expecting much from it. Just did it for the enjoyment of building one. It turned out to be my favorite guitar! When I get the urge to play, it's the first one I grab. It's not about how much you've spent on a guitar, it's how it feels in your hands and how it sounds.👍😎🎸🎶
@@74dartman13 a tele and single cut kit are also on my list and of course Harley benton haha, and hope to do it good enough lol have absolutely no experience but have a friend luthier...
@@MrPoilleke It's great to have a friend like that! Good luck!👍😎🎸🎶
Your honesty is refreshing! Keep it up! You will convince me to purchase a Harley Benton eventually.
Hahahaha I don't soon to convince you to buy anything... Just to let ppl know that there are other affordable options out there 😆✌️
I suffer from Gear Acquisition Addiction. I buy, sell and trade gear non stop. I just picked up my third Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and 4x12 cab today, I have have a few PRS guitars ranging from a S2 Standard 24, to a CE24 to a $5,000 limited run 10 top. I just ordered a Harley Benton CST24 in Ocean Flame and I’m so excited, I can’t wait for it to get here!!!
I t doesn’t matter what a guitar costs. I have MIM Fenders that I enjoy much more than the US stuff. I have Epiphones that I like more than my Gibsons. It really depends on the guitar. Play them and have fun!!!
Nice!! ✌️❤️
Some people enjoy modding into the instrument that is perfect for them. There is also satisfaction in tinkering. I know I enjoy it. I play a lot of Squier guitars and I alway change the pickups and replace the wiring and pots. I also change the nut and put inexpensive Jinho locking tuners. My favorite playing and sounding guitar among Fender USA, Squier, Heritage, my favorite is my butterscotch Squier Affinity. I put the locking tuners, bone nut, switch, wiring and pots and I put Fender Noiseless #3 Tele Pickups. I have probably $500 in it that I will never be able to sell, but I don't sell guitars anymore. That one is a keeper. So odd to prefer the cheapest guitar in my small collection of 10. lol
I feel you brother 🤪✌️
You're such a killer guitarist !!!! I love watching and listening to you.....doesn't matter if it's a $150 or a $5000 dollar guitar...you rock them all ! 🥰
Thank you kindly
Jonathan, I've just discovered your channel, and gotta say, i do love your playing. you're a GREAT player, not just good, and yet so humble. Love to hear you play.
Would love some instruction vids from you, your little tricks and flairs, I'm sure most of us would love to see that. Thank you. (80s big hair child here too btw).
Welcome to the channel!!🤓✌
wow you are starting to change my mind on the HB guitars. That Black Paisley sounds awesome.
Yes it does...but i've changed the pickups✌🤓
Jonathan , I love your honest reviews and your playing (which is fantastic) but I very appreciate your humble take on stuff and probably life in general..thanks for sharing your insights ..live and best wishes .
Sure thing!! Thank you✌️❤️
Because they are affordable.
Specially the "better" lines like the vintage or the deluxe deliver an enormous amount of guitar for the money.
I got me a Tele Deluxe, a Strat deluxe an SG Standard and a Jazzmaster Vintage from them.
All used but like new because many people buy them to start playing and then stop and the guitars end at ebay or similar platforms. I like that. That way you can go and test the guitar before you buy it and get the best ones out of it.
The only thing is if you buy the really cheap ones (standard and classic series) be prepared to swap the pickups (usually ceramics) for something from Roswell (AlNiCos) they are not too expensive and they deliver a great sound.
I did so with that SG and its now on par with the Vintage and Deluxe models.
Two far more important questions on that cup:
1. Are you a Star Wars fan/nerd?
2. Is it filled with coffee or tea?
And thanks for that video/thoughts ☺️👍
Lol!! 1) yes..a fan only..
2) just coffee on that mug. 🤓✌️
The occasional sale of a straight and true HB with polished frets and a German Floyd Rose going out the door under 400 bucks is a great deal that nails value proposition very keenly.
✌️❤️
Ordered the HB sc550 Amber paradise, won't get shipped until the 22nd May can't wait, seeing good things coming out of Harley Benton and good reviews from everyone
Enjoy yourself!’ ✌️❤️
Some 30 years ago it was realy important to have good guitars and amps but today things are very different, even cheap guitars are playable and with good sounding but for me the most important thing it's the amount of quality pedals at reasonable prices we can have very easily and sometimes with a litle luck and creativity we make great sounds with those pedals.
Absolutely!
Always wondered why ! But the way you put it was convincing enough !
✌️❤️
I really love the way you play, always simple(and that doesn't mean easy)and efficient.great tone, great rythm and melody, and I like harley benton too
Thank you Jean✌️❤️
I can’t believe how good these guitars are for the price.
I thought I would try one out after seeing the reviews and price and was very pleasantly surprised when I got one ( a JA 60 CC in sea foam green).
The pickups ( the Roswell type on mine) are not bad at all.
I own guitars by Fender, Gibson, Hagstrom and PRS and this guitar stands up well against them all.
I may do some modding on it, but as it stands it is a nice guitar to play and to look at.
✌️❤️
My first guitar was a Harley Benton Fusion Pro 2 ( the Ocean Turquoise one you demo'd). Since then, I have owned 4, the most I ever paid for one was $275 (for the Fusion Pro), and I have only been disappointed once (my Strat copy I paid $75 for - the neck was twisted and couldn't be fixed). I am now a proud owner of one of the last guitars you demo'd ( the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard - in Fire Red Burst). All I can say is, if you recommend it, I feel it is always a safe bet to purchase it. Thanks for all your effort and honesty. Here in Cleveland, Ohio, where the 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame' is, it's funny that I get my guitar advice from someone on the other side of the world.
My pleasure ✌🏻❤️
I totally agree. I mean i bought a gidson sg. A studio i think it was about 650 used it played ok swapped the nut and wound up swapping pickups put in some pearly gates cause gidsons just weren't responsive enough. A friend of mine bought a harley benton sg style had diffrent style jack not out of the front which i actually liked a lot more. When he told me that was stock set up i felt a little crushed and suprised that that 160 dollar guitar played a little. Better than that 800 Gibson studio and sounded damn near as good as that Gibson i have come to the conclusion pickups you'll grow in and out of what you like 3 months from now might not be the same as now. But at least with harley benton you always seem to get a really good pretty strong platform to start with. And they are all so much better than the budget friendly stuff that was available 30+ year's ago when i started. I think they have really managed to tap a pretty wide market for anyone who wants a certain style at a budget friendly price.
Thank you for your sharing!! If you take away the equation of the resale value, yes the HB are mostly a steal✌️🤓
The Almighty must be smiling at the gifts he gave you which now all of us can witness and learn from. just bought my first Harley Benton DC Mustard. It sounds like your playing but thats in my head lol..... onwards and upwards lol... great talent Jonathon has.
Thank you so much John!! God bless!!!✌❤
These guitars simply take you where you need to be or they otherwise have directions to that same destination with modifications. These are the guitars that anyone, yes anyone, can take apart, familiarize themselves with the construction, and do some of their own work to basically make their own guitar the way they want it. The necks have all been great in my experience (4 HB's in my collection) and they stay in tune. Good necks, good tuning stability, and good craftsmanship (finish, neck pocket) is all i ask, the rest i can change or leave the same depending on how i feel, not because i have to. I don't talk about my other guitars much because they are know, but to hopefully have someone get the positive experiences that i have had through Thomann and Harley Benton, that i want to share. I sound like an advertisement, but i don't care. Enjoy these guitars folks.
Dude, you are one BADASS guitarist. Holy shit. Harley Benton should sign you as the company demonstration guy or representative, because you make their guitars sound INCREDIBLE. If I was Harley Benton I would send you around the world to every friggin guitar convention...lol
I know you did some pickup mods, but with their low prices, that should be one of their selling points.
Hahaha thank you for your kind comments🤓✌️
I like your style of playing; very tasteful and it fits each song you perform! My only problem with Harley Benton is .......option anxiety, there's so many to choose from!
Lol✌️❤️
Jonathan you really are a incredible lead guitarist, there is no doubt!!!!! Superb!!!!!
Thank you Eddy!🤓✌
I own 19 Harley Benton guitars 🎸and is hooked on HB, sounds great playing great looks amazing thanks Jon for sharing 👍☯️💚
Most welcome!!✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoudJon Love your humbleness and presence, Thanks =) Love cheers
Just bought my first Harley Benton today, really looking forward to it arriving.
cool! Enjoy yourself!! 🤓✌
Hi what one did you get and how is it playing and feeling like 6 months down the line? All the best, James.
How is it, still like it?
@@Deliquescentinsight I do still like it Michael, a lot. More now than ever and think for the money it is an absolute bargain.
@@Crashed2023 Hi James, sorry for not getting back to you before now but I missed your message somehow. I got the HB 35 plus as I didn't have that style of guitar already. I love it, even more now that I've had it for a while and got used to it. I think HB's are great value for money and I'm now considering what one of their tele styles to go for :-)
Great chat. In your hands those HB guitars sound fantastic!
Thanks for posting.
I’m glad this is helpful✌️❤️
I've got 6 HB Guitars and ist love all of them...
Great Guitars ...
Awesome✌️❤️
All your HB guitar modding has been great (based on my subjective opinion). You and your guitar tech did a fantastic job. Such modding is also the reason why I like affordable guitars. I don't hesitate to "mess" with these guitars while trying to shape the sound and playability according to my taste (it takes often years). Why I am not buying many HB guitars (I have a few) is that the trend of today are 12" radius fretboards. Sure I could change the neck (to my preferred smaller vintage neck radii) but that is too much effort for me. But this was the only reason why I was going more for Vintage Guitars (designed by Bruce Wilkinson) or the more expensive Squier models (those with 9" inch fretboard radius) and not with more HB guitars. I assume that for most people HB guitars are just a fantastic option if your budget is limited or if you want to learn more about modding.
You are spot on brother! Fingerboard diameter is actually very important..🤓✌️
Hi j am Eugene from Venice, j have 5 HB and j am so great to you for yours work. You are a very important musician for me.
Wow, thank you! Stay safe!! I've been to Venice twice...Love it!✌♥
Modding makes the guitar your own. I highly recommend it. I have a few that came perfect as is but most are modded. Name brands are no exception
You are such a cool person. Thanks for your honesty and the work you put into your channel.
Thank you Bobby 🤓 God bless ✌️
Thank you so much for your videos. I as well am quickly becoming a Harley Benton fan. My first was a TE-52 Vintage , and it was so nice out of the box that I immediately ordered an ST-20 HSS. I have a Mexican Strat, a Gibson Les Paul, an Epiphone Wildkat, A Washburn, an Ibanez, a PRS Santana and a handful of cheapies, like Johnson, Washburn Lyon, and Squier (I LOVE modding up cheap guitars and experimenting with different tone), but the Harley Bentons are really impressing me RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!
The only thing I did to the TE-52 was replace the bridge saddles with a set of compensated brass saddles that I had from another bridge. If I hadn't already had those saddles I would have left it alone.
Nice!!✌️🤓
I bought two Ibanez RG hard tail guitars with basswood bodies and maple wizard necks NOS for $300 each. Big buttery frets, easy and inspirational to play and awesome sound. The pickups were decent but I replaced all of them because I have specific tastes when it comes to pickups. I now have two awesome bar guitars I can throw on the back of my motorcycle here in Bangkok and not worry. Actually, I really love these things and don't want anything to happen to them they are so cool!
Cool..I love Ibanez guitars too... Owned a couple of them back in the days ✌️🤓
They are great guitars, with a little modding they can be awesome, I own a CT24 paradise flame, with a little setup work and pickup change, sounds nearly as good as my 2000 USD PRS
Yes...but still some are still convinced that cheap=bad quality ...✌🤓
I think for most musicians its just great value for money. Sure they arent going to beat guitars in the $3000 price bracket but they would give any $800-1000 guitar an awesome run for their money and probably even more if you choose to upgrade some of the stock parts on the HB. Dress the frets to get them smooth and level. just small QoL improvements will make such a big difference.
I have 4 HB's, they have become my go to brand
Nice
Man your my new favorite UA-cam guitarist! I enjoy so much watching and listening to you play, so much emotion in your playing. Impeccable skills sir!
Thank you so much Jeff... Much obliged ✌️🤓✌️
OMG, I just recently found out about you.... I love your talent and honesty...Rock on Jon!!!
Woodbine to the channel! 🤓✌️
I very much agree with you Johnathan. I have some Gibson and fender guitars that didn't sound as good as some Epiphones I had purchased for far less money. I'm looking into purchasing a couple of Harley Bentons myself for similar reasons as yours. I really enjoy hearing you play, I can only imagine how your entertaining your stage performance would be. Most respectfully.
Thank you Earl ✌️🤪
Thank you, Jon, for all of your great information.
My pleasure!✌️❤️
Thanks for all the info you give and for your great playing.
Just for info I have just purchased a Fusion pro with a Floyd Rose, Grover’s, stainless steel frets etc. price is around 440 euros, put a more upmarket name on the head and you’d be paying €1000 minimum.
Keep posting brother, looking forward to the next one.
Thank you brother for your encouragement! Enjoy your new guitar!!🤓✌
I just bought a Fusion Pro from Thomann Music and with shipping ($65.00) paid $505.00. So I guess they are going up in price. I bought the two I needed (the other is a 12 string) before the prices go up further. Thanks for turning me on to Harley Benton.
Glad to help! ✌🤓
I have bought 6 hb's i am also a leftie. I like them as much as my fender ampro and gretsch 6119t . I have a HB DC Junior arriving today. Quality is superior, they are building like they care and want to advance the brand. I am satisfied
Nice ✌️🤓
@@JonIsJustTooLoud your playing is so soulful and I enjoy it. my hope is that as I continue to practice that I might get to sounding like you. You are really talented. What would you suggest for me to improve my skills. I am working on the learning of the neck and am being told that learning the scales are the best way to improve solo efforts. Do you agree or have a suggestion for me. Thank You
Thanks for sharing Jonathan. I bought 2 HB 335s for my son and I last Christmas. Absolutely love it! Way better than my LP Standard! Go figure?!?
Might consider swapping out pups ones of these days.... But until then 🎸👍
nice!!🤓✌
You are a breath of fresh air Jonathan. I wish more professional musicians would drop the ego and realise the days of big brand names ( which demand ridiculous price tags ) are well and truly numbered. One of my all time favourite musician's was bassist, Jaco Pastorius, and he " butchered " his old bass ( ripping the frets out and filling them with wood filler to achieve a fretless bass :-) ) he made that thing sing like no other musician before or since - the most important ingredient is talent. A great instrument can cost very little these days and with a few modifications, to suit individual tastes etc. can become more than an equal to the big brands. Respect my friend x
Thank you Peter!! much obliged!
To be fair Jaco played a Fender bass but I think even he would be surprised by HB quality. They have his fretless Bass Of Doom it's on my wishlist. First this PRS ripoff has to arrive I CANT WAIT
What a fabulous player you are. Whoever questions that tone is the fingers has to watch this video.
✌️❤️
It makes perfect sense to upgrade a cheap guitar. Cheap guitars are built mostly well enough to be a player. Then you can put the best pickups and hardware in and still have plenty of money over, then just buying an expensive guitar. I bought a secondhand Squier vintage modified strat for 180 euros. Its now got a big block brass tremolo, Fender cs 69 pickup in the neck, a fat 50s in the mid and a tonerider in the bridge. It sounds farbetter than a Fender costing up to 1400 euros. Man I just love this guitar and I have far more expensive guitars to compare to. And a few Harley Bentons that have been modified as well.
nioce!!! That Squire sounds really interesting now!!! 🤓✌
Incredible player... Love your channel Jonathan !
Thank you Judy ✌️❤️
It's like modding cars. I've done modding with both cars and now guitars. There are few things more gratifying than finding success in modding something to suit your own performance expectations. Nothing like taking an old Ford sedan and shaming shiny new BMWs on the track.
I've got the Harley Benton TE-40 and will soon have a SC-550 to play with too. Sharp looking guitars that sound good, and with very little work will sound GREAT.
you are so blessed .cars over here are so expensive!! 😜✌
Thanks for this video. With your comments on their playability, now I'm interested in HBs again. And, magnificent playing, by the way.
Thank you for your comments 🤓✌️
Wow! First time I heard this guy really play, what a bad ass.
I agree completely. With what ur saying. Time to branch out quit worring about brand names. By the guitat u like. Make them ur own. I been playing for over 30 years. I've never let people influence me. Be ur own player. Harley Benton makes nice guitars 👍
✌❤
Agree and even if they sell this pre painted without the electronic pickup pots toggle switch tuner on a less price i will buy it ...thats what you call freedom...
✌️❤️
Thank you. I appreciate your video because you come across as very honest. Many of the channels promoting HB are given free guitars by FB, so they are biassed. But I appreciate your unbiassed video.
Thank you ✌🏻❤️
I really like the spirit of your passion for the guitar and also very much your style of playing .... very full of energy while being very musical.
Thank you so much !
Thank you!! ✌️❤️
I enjoyed seeing your guitars. They sound great. I prefer my Fender guitars, strats. Since 99 I have had 5, now the newest American model with 3 single coils. I don’t know why but they just make me happy. Last January I could have purchased any electric but I just kept coming back to it and it inspires me to play. But you notice I didn’t say they are the best. That thinking only keeps you from finding one that “gifts you a tune” as David Gilmour says. I would love to try the hb fusion roasted maple, I have never had one like that, so I hope I can try their guitars someday. Just play the one you love and you can’t go wrong!
Yes....I was like you... Never wanted any other guitars other than a good old strat. But as I got older, ive learnt to appreciate different guitars and have been so blessed to have played on some really great ones. 🤓✌️
Jonathan Koh I also have a little collection of different brands and styles, and I like them all, as you do. I guess I was saying people should play the one they love no matter it’s price tag. Shouldn’t let others tell you what is valid to you. I agree with your train of thought in your video.
Just love your down to earth style and demeanor. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas 2021
Have a blessed Christmas!!✌️❤️
i too do the same thing. I buy harley bentons, and put whatever i want inside of it. some of their pickups are nice. i usually put on grotoh locking tuners. i always change the strings. and sometimes i add a little oil to the fret board.
Cool ✌️❤️
I’m glad I stumbled upon this channel....I’m thinking about getting the 24 fret guitar..I believe it’s the cst 24t
Cool!! If you have subscribed.. Welcome to the channel!✌️❤️
I couldn't agree more Jonathan. I'm glad I found your channel. I like your playing first and foremost. Very tasteful! I like your insight and honesty, and I like the straight foreward no nonsense way you present your guitars. As you say. No right or wrong when it comes down to it, ultimately it's up to your own ears and your own feel that what is good. They key is learning how to develop that.
Welcome to the channel!!✌💚
Great video Jonathon! I have 6 Harley Benton guitars. 2-Te. HB 35. Jazzmaster type. DC 600. And EX 76. Are they perfect? No. Do they have the best pickups n hardware? No. Are they affordable and gigable? Absolutely! I just bought 4, and had the "Jazzmaster" and the DC 600 at rehearsal yesterday. They both made the grade!!
Nice!✌🤓
Love your approach/playing style so much feel and emotion! Rock on!
Thank you..🤓✌️
I’ve just bought a te70 based on Jonathans great videos and coverage of this brand. I own many higher priced guitars but the hb brand has some great guitars at all price ranges, I think a lot of guitar makers are quaking in their boots with the hb offering. Thomann make sure this man is sorted out for his unbiased reviews
Cool, thanks!✌🤓
I took the plunge and ordered the ST 62 MN BK because i want a Strat sound, great value
Nice ✌️❤️
Johnathan you are by far my favourite youtuber. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Gary!🤓✌
Shred on brother! Just bought my first (and second) HB guitar. Thanks for your help>>> cheers!

I love Fenders, and will always treasure my number 1, which is an American made Tele, however, in today's world, Harley Benton guitars just make sense to me. I have a TE-52 Tele, which (straight out of the box) stands up well against my Fender Tele. I was so impressed with this guitar that I have ordered a TE-70 Black Paisley. Great guitars!!!
Hello. I'm currently torn between the TE-52 and the TE-70 black paisley. As you own both, can you share to me which one is good? It'll be my first telecaster
Thank you!
@@von.xix000 Hallo. This is a difficult question. Perhaps, maybe, it would be fair to say that the TE-70 Black Paisley is slightly better. The tuners are definitely better and I like the brass saddles. The finish on the fret board is also slightly better. However, the TE-52 looks and feels great to play. I like both but the TE-70 is a minuscule degree "better" in terms of finish. That said, I tend to play the TE-52 more. If you are willing to pay a wee bit more, I also highly recommend the Squire Classic Vibe 50s (and it's by Fender, if that matters). I have one of these and it is awesome! I also have a Fender American Special which is great but my best, and favourite Tele is my American Original 50s. This is a truly marvelous Tele! However, it all comes down to cost and what you can buy for the price. Harley Bentons are seriously good copies for almost no money. I love all 5 of my Teles ;)
@@ruiseartalcorn Ruiseart Alcorn I'm pretty short when it comes to budget so I can only afford either the TE-52 or the TE-70. Also, the squire classic vibe is quite overpriced in my country.
Thank you for your insight. I'll go with the TE-52 and I'm looking forward to having more tele in the near future.
@@von.xix000 Good choice. Great guitar!!! :)
Hello Jonathan.
I have bought a Harley Benton SC550. PARADISE FLAME.
It is to arrive in 4 days time. Thank you for your reviews.
George Forrest. Northern Ireland. UK.
Cool!! You will enjoy it✌️❤️
Jonathan great as always!
I have a idea for a subject I would like to see your opinion on. The never ending discussion on 8's 9's 10's. I have settled on using 10-46. But it has occurred to me the lighter strings may not be given a fair review by many. They have less mass and tension and that results is less energy going into the pickups. So they sound different and thinner. AT THE SAME AMP SETTING. To be compared by the ear they are at a disadvantage. With all the modeling Amps and Pedals out now days it seems the lighter strings lower output could be equalized to some degree. I would be interested in how you look at it and I'm sure it could be a interesting subject to be investigated in a different manner by looking at physics or limitations of different gauges. I have seen so many reviewers go from old 9's to new 10's or 11's and think its just the size change and not the output created into the pickups or age of the old strings. As a pro you know how one guitar and tuning is used for this song and is swapped for a different guitar and setup for the next. A large percentage of the audience has no idea why the guitar's are swapped out live. It is a large subject which you have a much better insight of it than many of us on this side as a hobby. It could very well be a entire series of videos for you if you need subjects to cover.
Hi..I have actually briefly covered it on one of my videos...ua-cam.com/video/e99GC9CE6K4/v-deo.html
For that video, I started playing on 09.5s...but have switched back to 0.10s right after.
✌😄
Brilliant performance, Harley Benton for the win.
I think you're right about the primary issue being pickups, at least when it comes to sound. As far as the shape of the neck, fretboard, etc. It doesn't cost more to cut one shape than another so once you work out the shape that's that. It's almost a shame those guitars don't cost more, they deserve too.
I'm kinda glad they dont cost more!✌♥
You are an incredible player, man. I'm always amazed at your skills and good taste. I try to steal a few licks from you too. :)
steal away!!!✌❤
its always a joy to see you play and doing demos! Please keep the videos coming... haha
