It was a Wednesday night, they played Petaluma on Friday night, and were scheduled to play in San Francisco on Saturday night at the Maritime Hall. That's the day he died. It has been said that he got his heroin in Santa Cruz when he was there. He knew his way around there, even attended UCSC at one time. He could score from the Beach Flats area by just driving through. The heroin was stronger than usual.
