Nice video Julian. Talk about something that is well worth the little bit of climbing at the beginning. My least favorite part is the very beginning because it is slow. But while it is my least favorite I still like it, I just like the rest of it more.

Hey Out of Shape Love the different sections you laid out. From the picnic tables which way is best ? I'm think doing the wild horse trail what are your thoughts. Cheers

Which is best depends on factors. How tired you are when you arrive and the kind of terrain you enjoy the most are the big ones. If you are tired, Hahn and Wildhorse are the worst choices. A lot more climbing and desert traversal for smaller payoffs. That said, they are the only intermediate single track exit option. Cathedra is shorter but, IMO, has the greatest degree of difficulty and combined risk. If there is an in between, it's Art Johnson. Trailforks labels it red but I disagree. It has maybe .5 mile of truly high risk content but I have trouble seeing it as more difficult than Cathedral and the entire rest of it is way more advanced-intermediate and flowy with far less risk overall, which works out better if you are running out of gas after the sandwash.

What time of year is good to do this one? The whole Epic?

Usually, mid Autumn until Mid Spring. Just watch the temperatures in Palm Springs. Once they drop into the 80s it's safe to run it. But for a best first experience, go on a day when it's raining in LA.

Always a fun trail... It's interesting that you waited 5 months since the last part and it was a year ago that you started this series. Making videos is a lot of work! My channel: Palm Canyon Epic MTB: ua-cam.com/play/PLZEb8ngMuMU2L948W3YZwxvNSehRy2p5R.html
Evidently you had no time or got burned out making these videos.
My last ride down Palm Canyon was what we called a Mega Epic. I've done the Epic ride coming down Palm Canyon and exiting in the Vons at hwy 111 or exiting Art Smith Trail many times, but my last visit on my levo eMTB gave me the extra power to extend the ride from the bottom of Hahn Buena Vista Trail up to Cathedral Trail at Dunn road and popped out at the bottom of Cathedral Trail then came back up Dunn Road all the way to the tractors and dropped down Art Smith Trail. It was what we called Mega Epic because it was an addition to the "Epic" trails for those using prehistoric bikes, or as some call them push bikes or Bio bikes :-) What camera did you use for this video?

Work got in the way, but a recent injury gave me some time back to finish up the series. Camera is my old hero 4 blank.
