You Ripken's as a Whole are a Whole...First Class and have seen you all in action at one time!!! Thnx Again...And listening to Ryan's talkshow to boot!!!
Really great content and might be the best interview yet! Such great perspectives and sights from Billy the Kid! Can't wait to hear from him again. Keep up the good work Ryan and crew! 🎉
This was amazing, thank you both so much. I could listen to you guys talk for hours. I was lucky enough to go to the ripken camps in aberdeen a couple summers as a kid, and I learned more about baseball from Bill than anyone other than maybe my dad. He was just incredible at teaching the game, he made everything fun and engaging and would always give it to you straight. He didnt sugarcoat anything if you didnt do well, but would sing your praises louder than anyone if you did. Loved hearing the stories about Senior and cant wait for the next time Bill's on the show!
They were saving that #7 for you Ryan! Great interview! I love the Ripken Family baseball stories, how nostalgic and it feels like we are part of the baseball family! Thanks you! I wish I could ask Uncle Bill about any locker room stories when the Os and Junior won a World Series his 1st MVP year 1983!
Much love and respect to the entire RIPKEN FAMILY. Yall have been a part of my life in baseball and growing up in Bmore⚾️ since the Cal Ripken milk ads( He's up move back He's up move back) lol. To watching and falling in love with baseball. Jr was all i knew at first. Sr was managing and The Ripken way and Earl Weaver is the foundation of the Orioles. Yall are all experiencing success is different avenues all connected to the game. Bill is def one of the best at breaking down the game. Ryan, man i remember seeing u as a lil kid in the stands with your mom, now your show is growing, and i wish u all the success in the world. Baltimore is so happy that Cal Jr. is apart of the Orioles ownership as it should be. RIP to Cal Sr and Mrs Vi.
I really enjoyed this interview with your uncle, Ryan. You are doing a great job with the Ryan Ripken empire. Your dad was my favorite player of all-time. I was born in the same hospital as your dad was in Havre de Grace. I always like to brag about that. God bless ya'll.
With our rotation being pretty much set for this year and next year, and our bullpen being a weak spot, and Chayce McDermott having high swing and miss stuff, why aren’t we giving him a look out of the bullpen? What if pitching from the pen eliminates his walks issues like it has for other pitchers in the past? The bottom line is, this is the upside: 1. We get exactly what we are currently missing in the bullpen for October. 2. We would have the best 1-2 punch in baseball out of the back end of the pen next season. 3. We would get a perfect weapon to pitch out of jams in close games. 4. We wouldn’t have a talented pitcher stuck in AAA for the next year and a half at least. 5. It could take a lot of pressure off the current relievers and have them pitching better. Too much upside to not give this a shot right now, right? Idk, what do y’all think?
My mom took stats for your Uncle Bill when she was in High School. It was her John Carroll High School against his Aberdeen! She loves telling me that story.
Me especially , been asking; and ryan does know the game, good manager material = ryan ripken; jackson got robbed of that second HR; TY Uncle B, first time i heard of cal sr was hearing about him on a broadcast or reading about sr being the main guiding force of the oriole way (70s); fifteen minutes in , i see we get 45 minutes of uncle ball
I just wanna say something real quick: Anthony Santander is 29 years old, so he’s likely to perform at a high level for another 5-7 years at the very least. During that time, Cowser, Adley, Gunnar, Holliday, Mayo, Kjerstad, Westburg and Basallo will all have at least a couple years of big league experience before Santander turns 33, less than 4 years from now. All of them, except Basallo, will likely have 4+ years of big league experience in Santander’s age 33 season(2028). Try to imagine how ridiculous this lineup will be in that 2028 season. 1. Cowser CF 2. Adley C 3. Gunnar SS 4. Santander RF 5. Kjerstad LF 6. Mayo 1B 7. Holliday 2B 8. Westburg 3B 9. Basallo DH Keep in mind that Holliday and Basallo are the only 2 players in this lineup that were top 10 MLB prospects before turning 20 years old, and that Mayo is the lowest draft pick of this group(4th round)and he is making his MLB at 22 years old. In other words, the organization believed he would be the worst player out of this lineup at the time they drafted each of these players individually. Basallo is the 9 hole hitter and he’s currently progressing faster than anyone else, including Jackson Holliday, in terms of his age/rank versus time spent in the minors. For all those who believe we need to win now, this is for you. Side note: with a contract to Burnes, you have an equivalent big 3 in the rotation and closer in comparison to this lineup’s talent/potential. Burnes, Bradish, Rodriguez and Bautista. If that’s not a recipe to win multiple World Series and utterly dominate the East for a decade, idk what is.
Like I said yesterday we have good hitting but our pitching sucks. The last two nights we got killed kremer and Rogers and most of the relievers just plain suck.
hyde needs to be replaced by Buck Show! its that simple. hyder continues to put kimbrel in 1 run or tie games & then he blows it!!! Brandon Hyde needs to get fired!!!
You Ripken's as a Whole are a Whole...First Class and have seen you all in action at one time!!! Thnx Again...And listening to Ryan's talkshow to boot!!!

Great interview. I'm right in between Cal and Billy in age, so remember both their careers and Senior very well. Thanks for doing this.
