The main reason I bought a stream deck was to use it with Pro Tools to speed up my setup process for my mixes, do some macros.
The only other software you need to buy is called Keyboard Maestro. That software helps you create shortcuts and macros
• In this video i m going over the basic setup of the Elgato Stream deck.
• The Elgato app, interfacing with Keyboard Maestro and Protools.
• The same can be done with any D.A.W.
• Keyboard Maestro is not available for Windows but there are plenty of alternatives that runs on Windows with similar functionality. The best Windows alternative is AutoHotkey, which is both free and Open Source.
• The Button ID can be pretty much set to what ever Column and Row number as (Start with number away from original setup that is 3 Row and 5 Columns).
• At the time I made this, I had to go run forums to figure out some of those things especially with Keyboard Maestro with the button ID, it wasn't super clear how to make it work. So definitely a bit of research and hopefully that helps you set things up a bit, a bit faster than I did originally.

Hi there, THANK YOU for your videos!! I wish you MUCH success:) I’m considering jumping into the keyboard maestro/stream deck work flow but I’m first curious to know if it’s possible to program a short cut like accessing the ‘time compression /time stretch trim tool’ in Pro Tools? Normally one has to scroll through a menu of different edit tools to arrive at the compression/stretch tool? I seems like it couldn’t be done but if you think its possible I’ll immediately order keyboard maestro and stream deck :)

@@audiosweetener sorry for my poor communication. I mean that I wish that there was a way to select a target decibel level and unit (RMS/LUFS/etc) and have the DAW measure the level of each audio track and adjust the clip gain to the targeted level, and then print that as a new track.
How do you ensure the color palette window stays in the correct position for the macro?
Hey Ian! it doesnt need to stay in the same position. the macro take the position from the "front window" in that case it s always the color palette. so it could be anywhere on your screen. hope that makes sense.
