Window mover and resizer gives stream deck owners a bundle of options for automating placement of windows on your PC, and even giving support across multiple monitors! Not sure if it applies but you can hold a tab next to the corner you want to place it in. Saving time adjusting it to fit 25%. Works same if you place the tab on the side and bottom of your screen

to get perfect windows sorting , use windowskey + arrowkeys , experiment with the different arrows and set the windows to you likings. after that , use the coordinates method like you see @ 7:02 mins

Any advice on programs with multiple instances open, e.g., I keep my Windows Outlook email and calendar open in separate windows, one visible just above the other?
Try the feature to match by window title, you should be able to separate it out that way.
I am following your tutorial to load and place Acrobat pdf and MS Explorer on the same virtual screen sharing half and half. However, whilst Acrobat does exactly as expected explorer will not go to the virtual screen. Also it causes the system to ask for confirmation that i will allow changes to be made to the system. Removing the explorer aspects stops the system enquiry. Any ideas please?
Nice video! I was able to get my twitch chat to resize. What I did was set up a multi-action: Opening and resizing a few programs (OBS, Amazon Music etc) and AT THE END
Open twitch dashboard url -> 500ms delay -> open chat popout URL -> resize current focused window
Not sure if the dashboard has to open first or if the delay matters but it works using those steps.

Thanks for this...very useful! Is it possible to do the same with Edge windows. I currently have Edge open up with for home pages (tabs) which I then manually detach and move. I can get Edge for open up but the pages remain as tabs. I don't see how to select them individually in stream deck.

Great video, ?, i am trying to make this resize for the xbox pc app, however everytime i click to get current window coordinates, it does nothing. Doesnt work and the app opens in same place everytime instead of where I am trying to make it. any suggestions? i restarted streamdeck and my pc, still no go. I got it to work with discord
is there a way to use the windows mover tool to move open file folders on the desktop?
Is there a way to open two chrome website windows and place them on different screens? I can't get that to work. I want to send one webpage, dndbeyond to the left screen then open roll20 website on my middle screen then discord open on my right screen

i been tryign to do this for 2 days now.. i have 2 horizontal and 1 vertical and i want discord to open on the vedrtical. now i can hit button and it goes there then after few seconds the app moves to another display

Anyone having problems getting this to control the File Explorer window? I have 2 monitors with file explorer open on monitor 2. Whenever I try to detect current position of the explorer window, Stream Deck changes to monitor 1 and does nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I found a way to fix this. Find your discord shortcut, right click it, open properties, copy paste the target field (contains path to discord launcher plus a bunch of parameters) and paste that into the launch application section of stream deck instead of browsing for the discord launcher.

I have an extension that allows chrome to perform a Picture-in-Picture of a video stream that is resizable and movable. I just can't figure out the right combination of SD buttons to make this work. Dear, I would like to use the stream deck to do presentations via a beamer. Pressing the button should then display or play the underlying photo or video full screen. if I now open a photo and I press the button 10 times then there are 10 screens above each other with the photo, a press on the button should first close all open windows and at the same time start the new photo/video. like some kind of video jukebox. is this possible if so how or with which plugin, if not could this be added, because I see many applications in it. thanks in advance
Hey, that sounds like a great idea for the plugin to incorporate, but unfortunately I don't think that's possible without setting up custom macros to close one window and then open another, which could get quite complicated.

I cannot seem to find away around the UAC pop up box that comes up. Do you have any tips for that? I can't find any Stream Deck users who even seem to have the UAC pop up happen for them and I'm mystified how they got around it.

@@MachineDaena My "User Account Control" constantly pops up and doesn't let the actions move on until I hit "yes" to allow the program to make changes. I am guessing there's nothing to be done about it, since I don't want to turn off UAC entirely, sadly. Ah well!
So with a stream deck you can basically do everything a mouse & keyboard can do but just automatically, with 1 click

Hey, thanks for watching! Unfortunately I don’t think that’s possible because it’s a container on a wider web link. It does have a URL of its own so you could experiment with launching the chat url but I’m not sure it’ll work 😫

So how would this work with a chrome window?... Because if I set the window to open chrome site 1>resize chrome then open chrome site 2> resize to different location, it just resizes the whole app and now I have 2 tabs in chrome instead of 2 separate windows of chrome

tried to do this with the streamelements chat/Feeds could not find the windows I need to move...
The chat feed should have it's own URL for you to use? I've not used Stream Elements chat feed, but I know with Twitch you can use the URL for chat and move it across the screen!

**UPDATE** "More Actions" at the bottom of the existing plugins is no longer there and instead you need to click the keyboard icon (Elgatos App Store) to access BarRaiders Plugin!
Whenever I do this, the apps go off the screen to a side where no monitor is located. Not sure what to do to fix that, have you experienced that?

Try playing around with the monitor coordinates. Sometimes the coordinates lock to the main monitor rather than the selected monitor. I briefly cover this in the vid.
If not, it could possibly be a bug and I'd defo recommend jumping into the developers' Discord and asking in there, they're usually really helpful!

Hey, thanks for watching! I think BarRaider supports Mac but I’d be lying if I said I’ve tested it because I don’t own a Mac. Did you manage to try it out? Would be great if you were able to confirm if the plug-in worked on Max!
I have 3 monitors and this doesn't work. It overshoots it past the other monitor and I have to manually resize the windows to get them back to normal size. I've also checked to make sure it's the exact monitor within the Windows Mover app and that the coordinates are not "negative". Still doesn't work. Kinda disheartening.
Sometimes the coordinates don’t take account of the other monitors, only the first monitor. It’s a weird bug but means you can at least get the coordinates in conjunction with your monitor and just use those even if it looks weird. I basically had the same issue but was able to work around it!

I have 5 monitors and it does not show any of my screens, so I cannot use this. Literally non of my monitors show up under screens.

The previous page that says to use another plugin is not on the More Actions... at the bottom of the existing plugins. Your video is outdated. And the icon (looks like a keyboard) to the store is not intuitive. So I did not look in the keyboard (app store) so it was very confusing. I needed to see Reddit to solve the problem. I say the app store in 1st forced tutorial, but forgot where it was, in trying to absorb everything else. But pointing out Windows Mover and Sizer is a GREAT BIG HELP in what I plan on doing wth streamdeck - the primary reason I got it for business use, as a non-streamer/non-gamer/non-video producer. Next challenge is how to pull the window I want in 'multi-window/instance' programs like outlook (calendar, email, reminder, popped email) multiple MS Teams windows (chat and meeting), multiple PowerPoints open....
Thanks for the feedback. This is the problem in making UA-cam videos about software. I’m in *ZERO* control over what the developers do with their software, so literally the following day after I launch a video, it can be completely different and there’s nothing I can do about it except potentially delete the video or update the description.
This particular vid is not even that old (about 4-5 months old)!

Came to this video after a couple hours of troubleshooting.
What happens in my case is that i set my Laptop screen (which doesn't show in the list by the way, just a blank space in the list) i set "get coordinates" and it reads them, then i press the button in stream deck it goes to the correct position and goes away, then i go an press "get coordinates" again and it show another value it even showed me (-32000 , -32000) i suppose there is a problem with a coeficient aplied to the fuction that it uses, it keeps multiplying every time the button is pressed and not taking in account the already specified value, it keeps calculating the position relative to the main screen and not using the value string it read before.
I think I mention this problem in the vid. The coordinates relative to the main screen should be correct but you can trial and error if it’s bugging for you.
Failing that, feel free to join Barraiders Discord and ask for troubleshooting there.

In the BarRaiders discord you can find this:
"Using the "Get current window coordinates" button:
The Get current window coordinates shows the coordinates relative to the 0,0 (top-left) of your Primary screen. This is due to the way Windows calculates the coordinates. Therefore it will also change the screen selector to show the Primary screen, even if the window is on another screen. DO NOT CHANGE IT BACK or it will yeet your app out of the screens."
What i did was use again the "get coordinates bla bla" then selected AGAIN my main screen and moved OUT of the button i was creating, this way it "saved" the config.
THAT's it.
I'm sorry if it is the same you said in your video, but i didn't get your explanation had to read it and then i got it.

This is possible… folders are a built in system tool for stream deck

@@SpelVarld That might not be possible, as the app replies on a .exe being run or specifying an app (rather than an instance of an app).
I wonder if many the developer of the mover plugin has any changes planned to implement this, or maybe that it's already there but just not obvious within the settings.
